Chapter 463: Chapter 233: Trade
Old Jack said, "If there’s a bargain to be had, why wouldn’t I take advantage? I’m not an idiot. What’s wrong with having a little fun squeezing her?"
"Moreover, ever since two hours ago when we left the accident-prone commercial street, people have been tailing us!"
Upon hearing this, Allen Zhang looked towards Blitz, who immediately took out his phone to check, nodded, and said, "Indeed, there are a few same cellphone signals that have followed us for several blocks. They are now in the alley next door."
...
Allen Zhang also sighed to himself that he really underestimated this old geezer.
"Damn it, the local gangs really have no manners. What do they want by following us? I’m just driving a shabby Highlander, do I look like a rich person?" The General Sect Leader was a bit annoyed.
"They probably have someone at the airport watching us, and they saw our private plane, which is worth hundreds of thousands of dollars," Blitz replied, "Maybe that car rental place has their people."
"Check out what they do," Allen Zhang said, hoping those guys would not provoke the General Sect Leader.
Otherwise, the General Sect Leader wouldn’t mind giving them a taste of ’a fierce dragon crossing the river’!!
Blitz spent a few minutes, quickly gathered the intelligence, and pulled up those people’s details, saying, "They deal with human trafficking and coco trading, and also run an unlicensed Underground Entertainment Venue. Coincidentally, they are the arch enemies of the informant we are to meet. Last week, both their gangs had a shootout on the street."
"I have no interest in their street conflicts," Allen Zhang pondered, "As long as they don’t provoke me, I won’t mess with them."
He immediately had Blitz contact the Mexican, Bolo, informing him that they had arrived. He also inquired about Boketu’s whereabouts.
Boketu: We just fueled up at a small town airport, and will arrive in an hour.
Allen Zhang nodded, satisfied with the speed. He took down the goods from the car, led people into the restaurant, and casually found a place to sit.
The buyer, having received Blitz’s message, also quickly brought people along. Five or six Mexicans pushed through the door, led by a man with dyed gray hair, sporting earrings, wearing a skull pendant, and tattooed arms.
Looking around, he saw the three sitting in a corner and immediately smiled, revealing a mouth full of gold teeth, "Hey! Buddy! Which one of you is the robot?"
"I am," Blitz nodded and asked, "You must be the buyer, Bolo?"
"Correct, I am Bolo! Welcome to Laredo city! This is the real heaven! You guys must be tired after such a long journey, right? No worries, I’ve already prepared to welcome and clean you up!"
Bolo laughed heartily, "It’s inconvenient to talk here, guys, follow me upstairs! We have private booths there, and exciting programs! Beauties and booze!"
He waved his hand and immediately had someone lead the way upstairs. Allen Zhang also nodded, and Old Jack, carrying the bag, followed the man to the second floor.
On the way, they encountered some fierce-looking fellows. Old Jack kept a casual expression, totally disregarding their attitude.
Seeing they were not falling for this, Bolo quickly had his men go play elsewhere.
"You guys traveled all the way from Los Angeles to Laredo to do business, aren’t you tired? Don’t they have plenty of gang operations locally?" Bolo led the way down the corridor, probing them.
"Don’t bother testing us, kid. I’ve eaten more salt than the roads you’ve walked! We’re not from the CIA. If we were, your place would have been dealt with by us already."
Old Jack said discontentedly, "Be straightforward if you’re a man. A mere business of Four Hundred Thousand Dollars, if we hadn’t accidentally got this stock while working, we wouldn’t even deal with you. You don’t even know what we handle!"
"Sorry, I was a bit sensitive. After all, you know, this line of work is risky, and most of the time we have stable suppliers, but I had a fight with some local snakes who messed up my supplies recently, causing a blunder in my business, and my usual suppliers refused to sell to me, forcing me to source from external channels."
Hearing Old Jack’s tough tone, Bolo became a bit uncertain.
In this circle, the soft fear the hard, the hard fear the ruthless, and the ruthless fear the fearless.
Talking in such a sharp tone, either he’s a fearless rookie or really a powerful big shot!
Old Jack, with sparse hair, a hooked nose, and a cold face, looked intimidating as if he was not one to be trifled with—a true ruffian, a heavy-weight in the industry!
Bolo immediately waved his hands to have his boys find out more about these guys. Did they just contact the second-in-command robot online?
Bolo led them into the VIP room lit with colorful lights, already populated by a few scantily clad Latina beauties.
He grinned and pulled out two bottles of Louis Massigny XO from the liquor cabinet, popped the corks, and filled the glasses, "As long as this deal goes smoothly, I’m of course willing to be friends with you. But the business I do isn’t big, and having been in Laredo for so long, I only own this restaurant and three streets’ worth of territory. What do you guys do?"
