Chapter 1130: 386, Three Requirements

In order to better evade attention from Washington, Donnie set off and left Washington, arriving in the automotive city of Detroit in the United States!

General Motors, Ford, and Chrysler, the three major automobile companies in the United States, all have their headquarters here, and this includes the Cadillac headquarters that Donnie has already acquired!

This time, Donnie came to the Cadillac headquarters to meet with their management!

Accompanying Donnie was Cadillac’s president, Fred Fisher, who had previously participated in the negotiations between General Motors and Venus Bank!

Fred Fisher’s mood was complex this time.

Cadillac’s change of major shareholder is undoubtedly a deeply impactful event for Cadillac.

Previously, Cadillac was just a brand under General Motors, and for the gigantic General Motors, they might not have been able to focus all their attention on Cadillac.

That was indeed the case, General Motors gave Cadillac plenty of autonomy.

But now it’s different; Cadillac is the only automobile brand under Venus Bank.

Before this, Fred Fisher had investigated Donnie, learning that Venus Bank had acquired many companies, such as IBM and Coca-Cola, but Donnie had never visited their headquarters after these acquisitions, especially not now.

Donnie even put aside the incident where he was ambushed in Washington and personally went to the Cadillac Headquarters in Detroit, which showed his focus on Cadillac.

As Cadillac’s president, Fred Fisher didn’t welcome such attention, as it might strip him of his influence and status at Cadillac.

Nevertheless, Fred Fisher had no choice but to accept the current situation, as Venus Bank was already Cadillac’s largest shareholder.

After the train stopped, the fleet arranged by Cadillac was already waiting at Detroit’s train station.

Detroit now has a bustling atmosphere mixed with a bit of hardcore feeling, not the least bit like the Detroit of later eras.

In fact, Detroit is somewhat similar to Philadelphia!

In the 20th century, they were important industrial cities in the United States, and it was precisely due to their urban attributes that the locals lived prosperous lives.

However, as the United States changed its economic development strategy, shifting industry towards finance, these cities’ heavy industry companies gradually moved their production workshops to countries and regions with cheaper labor, directly leading to the downfall of these cities.

Therefore, later on, Detroit fared not much better than Philadelphia, eventually even declaring bankruptcy!

The fleet drove through the streets of Detroit, where car dealerships and workers were visible everywhere—this was the norm in this city.

Donnie saw Ford Headquarters, General Motors Headquarters, and Chrysler Headquarters from the car, and finally arrived at Cadillac Headquarters.

Initially, Fred Fisher intended to directly call a company meeting, but was refused by Donnie.

Nevertheless, when Donnie’s fleet arrived at Cadillac, it still attracted considerable attention.

Donnie followed Fred Fisher into Cadillac’s meeting room!

"Fisher, have you been wondering whether this acquisition of Cadillac by Venus Bank is good or bad for Cadillac?"

Donnie did not sit in Fred Fisher’s presidential seat, but instead sat down on the sofa in Fred Fisher’s office.

Fred Fisher had been at Cadillac since the era of Henry Leland, though he was just one of Cadillac’s designers back then, like many other automotive company presidents.

After designing one best-selling car after another, and after the Leland Family withdrew from Cadillac, Fred Fisher relied on his position as Cadillac’s chief designer to become Cadillac’s president.

If possible, Donnie didn’t want to carry out radical reforms at Cadillac; first, Fred Fisher held a prestigious position at Cadillac, and even Pierre DuPont respected him to a certain extent in Cadillac affairs.

Therefore, Donnie’s current thought was that if Fred Fisher could earnestly execute his orders, Donnie wouldn’t do anything to Fred Fisher.

He would let him continue on as Cadillac’s president from beginning to end!

Fred Fisher likewise did not sit in his presidential seat but sat on the sofa next to Tang Fei.

"To be honest, Mr. Block, I’ve been thinking about this all along!"

Donnie smiled and said: "No need to think too much, Venus Bank has too many companies; if I had to personally manage all of them, I wouldn’t have the time for it!"

Fred Fisher breathed a slight sigh of relief, understanding Donnie’s meaning; Venus Bank would not interfere much with Cadillac Company, but the premise was that he must accept Donnie’s arrangements for Cadillac’s future planning to some extent!

"Mr. Block is one of the most successful businessmen in American history; being part of Venus Bank is an immense honor for us!"

Donnie smiled, continuing to say: "My visit to Cadillac this time is firstly to take a look at this side’s production line, and secondly, I do have some ideas I want to discuss properly with you, Fisher!"
