Chapter 95: Act 39: Death of the Golden Tree_2
Brand immediately turned back and shouted to Frey as he landed: "Follow me!" Then, without pausing, he grabbed the stumbling Miss Merchant with one hand, and the two charged towards the Golden Magic Tree with their swords.
"Brand, wait!"
"I can’t keep up."
But at this moment, Brand didn’t care what Miss Merchant said. He turned the corner, and the ground suddenly cracked with a loud ’swish’. A massive network of roots shot out from the underground, forming a huge web—the Golden Magic Tree was behind this web.
Less than a minute left.
Brand paused, and Roman behind him also stopped, gasping for breath. She looked up curiously at the Golden Magic Tree behind them—she always thought that must be the Golden Apple Tree of the deities.
Brand examined the web, exactly like in the game. He drew an Elf Sword in front of himself in a circular motion. Two sweeping vine tendrils instantly ignited into flames and split into four segments. His military swordsmanship was grand and aggressive, with few defensive moves, but the few he had were extremely refined.
Then he let Roman go and stepped back, raising his sword with both hands, stepping forward: "Power Burst—!" Brand felt excessive strength being drawn from his upper arm, forearm, trapezius, and latissimus dorsi muscles. The Elf Sword drew a beautiful silver arc—the sword moved forward, striking the web with the force of 7.7 energy levels.
Frey, limping as she caught up from behind, saw this scene. She used to think each time she saw Brand that she was witnessing his limit. Last time, it was understandable as he used a Magic Card to cheat, but this time she saw the true burst of power.
The sword edge squeezed the air on both sides, producing a rapid sonic boom. As if it were decayed wood, the root network of the Golden Magic Tree tore open with a ’zz’ sound, collapsing from the middle.
The trapped beast of Xavier Mountain Path could no longer stop the trio, only watching helplessly as they broke through. As soon as Brand entered the core area of the Forbidden Garden, he shouted to Roman and Frey: "Attack its root trunk, leave the main body to me—"
After saying that, he took out a Destiny Card, silently chanting in his heart: "Show the Holy Sword!"

Even in summer, Winter Claw Castle remained shrouded in a thin layer of frost. It was originally built in the high-altitude mountains of Kerkova to monitor the barbarians in the northern forests, but after the establishment of Belta Province, it also became one of the Royal Family’s villas.
In the diamond-shaped courtyard of the castle, there stood an ancient pine tree, which miraculously survived a fire at Winter Claw Castle in the last century. The castle’s owner took it as a good omen, rebuilt the fortress, and preserved the tree.
Nowadays, under this pine tree, a solemn atmosphere was spreading.
A little girl in thick knight armor had a head of beautiful silver hair, and her semi-pointed ears testified to her partially non-human lineage. But unlike the aloofness and elegance of elves, this fifteen-year-old girl had a serious expression, holding a heavy longsword with both hands in the initial defensive stance of Erune Cavalry Swordsmanship—
She pressed her lips and commanded the smaller boy in front of her: "Haruz, attack me—!"
Simple and undeniable.
"Sister..."
"Attack!"
The boy had no choice but to stab forward with his sword. However, the girl swiftly blocked and pressed down his sword edge, then stepped forward and pushed him to the ground with a hand on his chest.
The servants around them gasped.
"Again!" The girl’s expression remained unchanged and said.
"Sister, I..."
"Stand up, again."
The boy had no choice but to stand up, retreat a step, and charge forward again. The girl in knight armor swapped the sword from her right hand to her left, casually swung it, and unexpectedly knocked his sword flying.
"What are you distracted by?"
"Sorry."
"Again."
...
Ten minutes later—
The girl walked into the dressing room, letting two maids remove her heavy knight armor. Steam and sweat mixed with her beautiful silver curls, and she asked without looking back: "Where is the king?"
"The envoy from Madara has arrived, Your Highness."
"Your Majesty is in a secret meeting with Marquis Clug." another maid answered, bowing her head.
The girl glanced at herself in the mirror, her face expressionless and cold. She changed into a dress, ran her hand through her long silver hair, tossing it back, and answered:
"Take me to see Gemmer." She silently thought there might be a turn in the war situation, but Marquis Clug was a cunning old fox, not worthy of trust. Of course, some words need not be said in front of servants; she needed a trustworthy confidant.
"Yes, Your Highness."
This day was the fourth of June in the year of Flowers and Summer Leaves—

Brand watched as every branch of the Golden Magic Tree gradually dimmed and drooped, knowing that this terrifying monster had finally reached the end of its life. He felt a bit exhausted; maintaining the Holy Sword effect with two points of Magic Power nearly drained all his mental capacity.
After all, he was a warrior, not a wizard. Even a wizard at this level only had about ten points of Magic Power.
Frey and Roman were both sitting exhausted on the side, Frey’s arm slightly injured, but it was not serious. More importantly, the joy from defeating a powerful enemy was far more invigorating than a minor injury, and they couldn’t help but look back at Brand.
However, they saw Brand step forward, wielding the Elf Sword in a wide arc, slashing at the trunk of the Golden Magic Tree.
Power Burst—
Having lost the power of Divine Blood, the dying Golden Magic Tree was nothing but an ordinary ancient oak, incapable of resisting the dreadful force of 7.7 energy levels. The ripping force directly tore off its upper canopy, causing the crown to break flat and fly away.
The two girls exclaimed softly, not understanding what Brand was doing.
But Brand knew that the Golden Magic Tree would hang the creatures it killed in its canopy, slowly draining their magic power. Over time, it would still be possible to find some spoils of war.
Although most were already drained of magic and turned into waste.
Brand walked over, and the first thing he saw on the ground was that card—
