Chapter 103: Scene 43: Isn’t it the Highland Knight? _2

Brand took out the ’Highland Followers’ card on the other side and threw it on the ground. The water element generated by the Holy Tree Secret Land this week immediately paid off from the Earth Card. After a puff of smoke, a young man in a robe, carrying a large bundle of scrolls, emerged from the smoke and patted his sleeves.

Brand already knew that before an Element Pool was established, the element generated by the Earth Card would be paid and lost during the week, meaning it couldn’t be stored, but it could still be used within the week.

"My name is Char, Lord. I am pleased to be at your service." The young man looked at him and bowed deeply.

"Are you a Highland Mage?" Brand asked.

"Apprentice," the young man supplemented earnestly.

Brand discovered that he could assess the other’s attribute. He opened it and saw a Highland Mage apprentice with 16 points of Life, 8 points of Mana, possessing 2 spells: Basic Construction (2 points of Mana) and Magic Arrow (1 point of Mana). The knowledge system included Basic Magic, Construction Magic Knowledge, Basic Knowledge, Local and Geographical Knowledge, and also 1 level in Heraldry.

"You learned Law Magic?"

"Exactly."

Law Mages are a type of Wizard specializing in the study of the power of laws. Their magic manipulates connections between the material world and the Law World, transforming gemstone energy to manifest its power in spells.

The Amber Sword has nine Wizard factions: Law Magic, Elemental Magic, String Magic, witchcraft, Rune Magic, Holy Word, Astrology, Spirit Communication Skill, and Array Magic. Each faction represents a completely different magical system, although ordinary people often cannot distinguish between them and collectively call them Wizards.

But this terminology is not entirely wrong, as all magic shares one common trait — mystery.

"Brand, are you talking to someone?" Frey suddenly stopped and asked.

"Yes, my servant," Brand answered.

"Servant?" The girl was taken aback.

Brand took out the Soul Crystal containing the Ten Feet Silence Technique from his pocket and tossed it to the young man. "Activate it."

Although warriors cannot use storage items, Mage apprentices can. Char took the crystal bead and infused 1 point of Mana into it. The surface of the Soul Crystal glowed faintly — suddenly making everything around completely silent.

It was as if an invisible and formless monster had appeared in the dark, swallowing up all sound. Frey was startled to find herself unable to make any sound. She didn’t know this was Brand’s doing, and her heart pounded rapidly — after all, anyone facing mysterious magic would likely react this way.

Char nodded at his Lord.

Taking advantage of this moment, Brand turned around and punched the thick wooden fence of the dungeon. After the battle with the Golden Magic Tree, Brand was more well-equipped than ever. The 965 total experience points were enough to level up his mercenary to level 8 and his civilian soldier to level 6. With a total level of 15, his strength reached 5.4 energy levels, and after a Power Burst, it exceeded 10 energy levels—

When he punched the wooden fence, the solid posts should have snapped with a cracking sound and flown out, striking the railing on Frey’s side with a loud bang. But within the Silence Technique’s range, they could only see the timber silently breaking, wood chips flying, and the two wooden segments silently hitting the other side, bouncing silently and falling to the ground.

Brand walked through the person-wide gap, followed by Char. He grabbed the iron chain on the opposite rail and pulled it apart effortlessly, as if tearing a rope, leaving it deformed and breaking piece by piece. He opened the door, and the Silence Technique’s duration just ended.

"What, did you want to stay here longer?" Brand stood at the door of the cell, looking at the two surprised girls, and asked with a mischievous smile.

"You’re out just like that?" Frey couldn’t believe what she had just seen. This was too audacious! Judging by Brand’s skilled moves, it seemed he had done this multiple times before!

Brand chuckled. The nobles had treated him as an insignificant civilian soldier, which was a joke. He had escaped from prison nearly a hundred times in the game. Not just small places like Ridenburg, but he’d also escaped from the Iron Thorn Fortress in the capital of Ambeser.

Players always disregarded NPC rules. Once, a strong player even escaped from the prison in the capital of Gruez, which caused quite a sensation on the forum.

He thought if he stayed here until the next morning, it would be a disgrace to his identity as a former player.

"Who is he?" Frey finally noticed someone beside Brand.

"Honorable ladies, I am the Lord’s attendant." Char lowered his head and saluted the two girls.

"Attendant?"

"Lord?" Roman and Frey almost couldn’t control their voices. What’s going on here? Could the dungeon be a mysterious space? Why did Brand become a lord after briefly staying there and even gain a follower?

Frey couldn’t help but pat her face to ensure she wasn’t dreaming. If the young man living alone in the old house for months was a lord, then wouldn’t she be a Valkyrie?

Moreover, "How did you come here?" she couldn’t help asking.

"As you saw, I am a mage," Char replied calmly. This impressed Brand greatly; this guy’s ability to make up stories almost matched his own.

"Mage apprentice," Frey gasped.

"You—you—you are a Highland Knight, Brand, you’re a Danier person!" She looked at Brand incredulously. In this world, only one type of mage serves as a knight’s attendant — the Highland Knights in Karasu Province allied with Wizards for three hundred years, forming Erune’s strongest military force—White Knight Order—and the Highland Knights and their friendly Mage followers are well-known legends in Erune.

At this moment, Frey firmly believed Brand was a noble youth from a Highland Knight family. No wonder he was so powerful and composed; he was a knight. She suddenly lowered her head and thought, this hateful guy is a noble, why did he approach her and Roman? They were just two little civilians — yes, he must have ulterior motives!

She immediately projected all the negative traits she had heard from Aunt Sier about nobles onto Brand and quietly stepped back.

Brand obviously didn’t expect their future Valkyrie to have such a powerful imagination, thinking she was just too shocked to accept this fact. Actually, he couldn’t help it; if they found it easier to accept, it saved him the trouble of explaining.

He couldn’t help but shake his head and exchange a glance with Char.

The reality was indeed helpless.

"Alright, ladies. It’s about time. Come out now," Brand looked at Roman hiding in the dark with glittering eyes full of curiosity and couldn’t help but shake his head. "You don’t plan to stay here until morning, do you?"

"Brand, are you really a knight?" Roman suddenly asked.

"No, I am Brand," he replied.

"Then I’ll come out now."

"Please—"
