Chapter 766: Harming Others Will Come Back To You
Yarin's POV:
Lydia kept screaming and struggling but was thrown into the storage room without any resistance. Passing by the kitchen, the owner was making soup, lazily saying, "Don't mess up my cheese, guys. It just arrived today."
Lydia trembled and cried incessantly, but it didn't give her pity.
And then, at that moment, I whispered in her ear, "Lydia, do you remember what I told you? Don't be afraid. We're right outside the shop. Many people will protect you. The time has come, do as we agreed, okay?"
Lydia barely nodded, huddling in the corner against the wall.
The men continued to taunt her, "Don't be afraid, girl. I promise this will be enjoyable. After all, you've been able to experience earthly pleasures for several years longer than your friends. What's there to be unhappy about?"
"Speaking of which, this girl's friends are all beautiful as well. Damn, when I was in school, these types of brats were really arrogant. Now it's my turn to teach these uppity bitches a lesson." One of them impatiently unbuttoned his shirt, but he only stared greedily at Lydia, not daring to approach.
It seemed these men were centered around the man who initially harassed Lydia, and he was the main instigator of last night's events.
The man's hand grabbed Lydia's clothes, and just then, Lydia, who had been trembling and crying, suddenly resisted. She slapped the man hard.
The man didn't expect her to fight back. He didn't react in time and ended up receiving a solid slap across the face.
Lydia wasn't very strong, but the man was furious. He cursed obscenities, "Damn b*tch, I'll kill you..."
However, his harsh words were cut short when he suddenly let out a pained howl. He covered his eyes and stumbled backward, shaking his head frantically as if trying to shake something off his face.
His comrades were taken aback, rushing over to see what happened. The man released Lydia and clutched his eyes, which had turned red and swollen, tears streaming uncontrollably. "My eyes! My eyes! It burns so much! Get me water! Water!"
So, no one paid attention to Lydia anymore. They immediately helped him outside to wash his eyes.
Left alone, Lydia remained bewildered but silently gripped the cufflink on her sleeve. So, what exactly happened?
Similar to how I helped Eden last time, I lent Lydia the pair of cufflinks 'blessed by the goddess'. Of course, I was the one who 'blessed' them.
My avatar had been pretending to be a gem on her sleeve the whole time, when in fact, it concealed a tiny camera embedded in the cufflink. Lydia was huddled there, partly pretending to be frightened to deceive the criminals and partly to capture clearer evidence.
Furthermore, another part of me had infiltrated the surveillance room to ensure smooth monitoring inside the shop.
In the storage room, I couldn't actually let these sc*mbags do anything to Lydia, so a portion of my avatar quietly slipped down from the sleeve, picked up a nearby shaker of pepper and chili powder, and sprinkled these savory spices all over the man, getting them into his eyes. He could wash however much he wanted, he wouldn't be able to wash it all out because I had laid an invisible, thin film over his eyes. It was thin, but enough to trap the pepper and chili powder, giving him a 'spa treatment' for his eyeballs.
If he enjoyed watching thrilling scenes so much, then let him have his fill!
Meanwhile, in the chaotic kitchen, the restaurant's front door was forcefully kicked open by the police. They rushed in, subduing the kitchen's bewildered men, including the leisurely soup-cooking owner.
"We received a report that a heinous crime against minors is occurring here." The leading police officer looked at the fearful men and then at Lydia, who was trembling and disheveled in the storage room. He spoke solemnly, "My goodness, what a bunch of animals. Come with us. You have ten minutes on the way to inform your families and lawyers."
The man who had been doing the eyeball spa continued to wail, but no one paid him any mind. The police took him away in their patrol car.
After the police car left, the crowd of curious onlookers outside the door gradually dispersed. I sneaked in through the restaurant's back door, accompanied by Heller, Cynthia, Eden, and Autumn.
Autumn immediately hugged Lydia when she entered, and Lydia buried her head in Autumn's embrace, crying.
"Let it out, girl. Let it out, brave girl. You just personally sent the people who tormented you to prison. You can cry with pride for this. Don't worry, don't be scared. It's all over. We're here, you're safe. You've done great, we're all so proud of you, my good girl..."
We discreetly left 'Sunset' restaurant with Lydia. All the evidence would be handed over to the police. The wrongdoings of those men would be exposed one by one.
As the victim, Lydia didn't need to show up in this. I would send someone to the police station to provide her statement.
I knew this didn't conform to procedural justice, but I didn't care-well, I did care, but in the face of evildoers, I really didn't care.
Those who bully the weak eventually meet their match, and I always make good on my word.
