Alpha's Rejected Mate Returns as Queen -
Chapter 758: The Confession
Chapter 758: The Confession
Yarin's POV:
Eden mustered up the courage to call Autumn - he actually had Autumn's contact
information, this guy, not needing anyone's help at all - and to his surprise, Autumn happily agreed.
Lady Charlies was thrilled by her nephew's budding romance. She had long hoped for a warm and happy experience to rescue Eden from his painful memories. Thus, she enthusiastically encouraged him to invite classmates over and took charge of organizing the party arrangements herself.
"The whole weekend is yours," she lovingly said. "The uncle and aunt in the front house are away on a business trip, and as for me, I believe the Queen won't refuse my presence in the palace for a chat with the former queen. You can have a great time, invite your classmates to stay over if you like, and I'll prepare the guest rooms."
Encouraged, Eden decided to invite more people. He was afraid his reserved personality might make Autumn uncomfortable. However, he didn't have many close friends at school, so The struggled with choosing who to invite.
"First, you definitely need to invite Autumn's girlfriends," Cynthia said. "No one knows her better than they do, and Autumn won't get bored with them around."
Eden took Cynthia's words to heart and listened intently.
"And don't invite them individually, talk to them when Autumn is present, got it? If you invite them alone, they might not know you well and could decline. But when Autumn is there, you won't need to say anything; they'll understand your intentions and will likely agree."
"Uh-huh, uh-huh." Eden practically took out a notepad to take notes.
"Also, your classmates from the same grade. I think they don't dislike you; they just didn't dare to approach you due to Kris's threats," Heller added. "If you invite them, nine out of ten will say yes. There's no insurmountable gap between you two now that Chris, the only obstacle, is gone. To become friends, all you need is a chance to chat."
"Got it," Eden nodded eagerly.
Then, everyone turned to me with a look that said, "It's your turn, give us some ideas!"
So I said, "If you're willing, I can help you invite some juniors. They're all good people."
"Of course," Eden agreed.
Lady Charlies smiled as she watched us 'strategize', not saying anything, but her eyes welled up with tears.
The weekend arrived, and the party came as planned.
Upon arriving at the Charlies Family's residence, most of the guests reacted with disbelief.
"Your last name is Charlies?" a classmate asked in astonishment.
Eden scratched his head and answered sheepishly, "Actually, no. This is my aunt and uncle's house. I'm just staying here."
But people were all quite serious as they said, "Well then, if your aunt and uncle are aristocrats, then you must be one too! You really surprised us; we never expected this side of you. You usually keep such a low profile!"
Eden became even more embarrassed, his face almost disappearing into his collar.
Of course, people were curious about why an aristocrat like Eden, who was equally of noble birth as Kris, would be bullied by him. "Don't you know each other? In TV dramas, noble families all memorize each other's genealogy."
Eden chuckled nervously, "Memorizing genealogy? That's impossible. I can't even remember my own family's... My family is from out of town. I moved to the Lycan pack after starting middle school, so I've never seen Kris before. Besides, the Cyril Family is a major aristocratic pack, far beyond the comparison of my remote countryside noble family."
"So what if they're a major aristocratic family?" Autumn chimed in, disdainful, "A family with a bad reputation breeds useless and arrogant wastrels like Kris. I bet the Cyril Family will decline under Kris's influence."
I silently agreed with Autumn's words. Even if Mom didn't do anything, the Cyril Family might lose its title with Kris's idiocy before he was thirty.
Lady Charlies organized everything meticulously. Rather than a party, it felt more like a grand banquet.
At first, some classmates were a bit hesitant due to the grandeur, but soon Eden and I started playing, and everyone quickly loosened up. From morning to night, we joyfully frolicked together, and the usually quiet Charlies Family's residence burst forth with unprecedented youthful vitality.
Autumn had a soft spot for Eden, but being a shy and reserved girl, she hadn't dared to express her feelings. Her girlfriends had long sensed something and had been secretly nudging them together. By the time I realized it, I saw Autumn and Eden sitting by the fountain, engaged in a private conversation.
"They really make a wonderful couple," Cynthia gushed, holding her face in happiness. "Autumn is such a great girl - strong, beautiful, and talkative. I'm not surprised many boys
like her."
"I hope Eden succeeds." I felt deeply in tune with the sentiment at the moment.
Soon, I saw Autumn excitedly hugging Eden.
The young boy and girl embraced in the half-melted snow.
Unknown to me, a crowd had gathered by the window. Seeing this scene, they erupted into cheers.
