Chapter 524: The Instability

Gastone gulped, taking a deep breath as he formed words that wouldn’t trigger Draco too much.

"When I was in the human realm. There was a problem in the forest where hunters saw a wolf. I thought it was just an ordinary wolf that doesn’t shift, but..." Gastone paused, remembering how he met Giselle.

"But what?" Draco asked, eagerly waiting for the continuation.

"Well, one of those days... I returned to the forest for a run but met someone there. A she-wolf," Gastone continued, leaving some unnecessary parts away. "At first, she wouldn’t tell me her name, but as circumstances changed. She told me her name, and she wasn’t an ordinary one."

"What do you mean by that?" Draco asked further.

"That she-wolf was Giselle, and... she was the owner of the Orphanage where Lucia came from, and you already know the activities they’re doing behind closed doors," Gastone stated. He didn’t explain further since Draco already knew about Lucia and her background.

Draco remained silent. His face was stoic as he tried to put the pieces together. "My mother won’t harm innocent people... I think you’re mistaken," he muttered in disbelief.

"I’m not saying that Giselle is your mother, Draco. I’m just telling you I met one with the same name," Gastone explained. He could see how Draco became anxious by the information he shared.

"Yes, maybe... maybe she’s a different wolf got lost in the human realm. I’m sure my mother won’t do those inhumane things... It’s too gruesome!" Draco exclaimed loudly. He turned his back and bit his knuckles to suppress himself.

Gastone didn’t reply as he wanted to give Draco more time to process his thoughts. His eyes glanced back at the portrait of Draco’s mother, and he couldn’t deny the resemblance, but he didn’t want to say more.

"I shall go," Gastone stated before bowing slightly, turning swiftly. He walked away as fast as he could since he didn’t want to deal with Draco, especially when he caused his current mental instability.

On the way outside, Gastone was about to exit the door when a figure appeared before him.

"Ro-Rosina!" Gastone exclaimed, frightened by her sudden appearance out of nowhere.

"Gastone, come," Rosina said, grabbing his hand and pulling him to the side. Then, she walked to the closest room and shut the door.

Gastone was confused. He stood there and watched Rosina paced back and forth. "Is there something wrong?" he asked.

"I heard what you said to Draco," Rosina faced Gastone with worry, walking closer to Gastone. "Can you tell me the whole story? I think you left much when you told Draco about it."

Gastone frowned, but he agreed. Telling the story wasn’t much of a problem for him when it came to Rosina. For fifteen minutes, he carefully formed his words and conveyed to Rosina everything that involved Giselle, to which she listened carefully.

"I see, thank you," Rosina smiled awkwardly. She massaged her temples as it caused her much stress.

"Do you still have something to ask?" Gastone fisted his palm. He wanted to stay strong but felt like everything was about to crumble soon.

Rosina looked at Gastone. She opened her mouth to speak, but no words came out. "No, everything is fine. You may take your rest," she replied.

Gastone smiled and bowed slightly before leaving the room. He took one last glance at Rosina before leaving and saw her biting her fingernails.

’Does Rosina know something that I don’t?’ Gastone thought as he walked outside. He reached his house and ate the food he made earlier while clearing his thoughts. He spent most of the day staring at the plants and caring for them.

On the other hand, Draco returned to his office when he noticed Gastone was gone. He didn’t even realize it sooner. He grasped his hand over his head as Gastone’s words kept repeating.

"My mother isn’t a murderer and a psycho. She won’t feed humans a human flesh and sell... innocent children. No, she’s not like that," Draco kept whispering as he forced that information to be the truth.

"Ah! My mother is a saint. An angel!" Draco exclaimed continuously, laughing in between.

Then, a knock disturbed Draco.

"My love?" a familiar voice spoke before the door opened.

"Rosina!" Draco exclaimed. He jumped from his seat and approached his mate. "I-I need to tell you something!"

Rosina remained calm and gave a soft smile. "You seem tense, my love. I think it’s better when you take a quick break from work," she said, cupping Draco’s cheeks.

"Hear me out. I need to do something... my mother," Draco ignored Rosina’s words and continued.

"Yes, I know your mother is a good woman. I’m sure of it. So rest assured, everything will be fine. I don’t want to see you in this... terrible state, and you stink," Rosina chuckled and pinched Draco’s cheeks to cheer him up.

"Oh, I stink?" Draco’s unstable thoughts were shattered after Rosina’s light-hearted remark broke the tension in the room, drawing a chuckle from Draco despite his chaotic emotions. "Fine," he muttered with a reluctant smile, "I’ll take a quick break, but only because you insist."

Rosina grinned, satisfied with her small victory. "Good. Let me take care of you for a while. You need someone to remind you that the world isn’t ending." She guided Draco to a nearby chair, pressing him gently to sit. "Stay here. I’ll bring you something warm to drink."

"I think I should shower first," Draco stated, lifting his arms and smelling his armpits.

"Haha! If you wish to," Rosina grinned, shaking her head in amusement.

Draco stood up and grabbed Rosina’s waist, pulling her close. "My wish... perhaps you’ll accompany me in the shower. I do need some caring there," he whispered, biting her earlobe teasingly.

"Kyah! Hahaha! You’re such a tease!" Rosina yelped, smacking Draco’s chest playfully.

Draco grinned and pulled Rosina’s body, carrying her like a sack of rice. "Who said I’m teasing?" he laughed out loud and hurriedly went to the shower.
