Alpha Damien's Breeder: The first night -
Chapter 50: Scarlet and Enoch
Chapter 50: Scarlet and Enoch
They arrived at the mansion, but Damien felt the need to punish Aurora for breaking his rule. He guided her into his room and gently placed her on the bed.
Observing her drunken state, Damien hesitated, deciding it would be wiser to wait until she sobered up before administering any punishment.
Murmuring and tossing around on the bed, Aurora scratched her neck and mumbled incoherently.
Damien took off his shirt and went into the bathroom for a quick shower. Minutes later, he emerged, clad only in a towel wrapped around his waist.
He noticed Aurora’s discomfort as she continued to scratch her neck and mumble unintelligibly. Drawing closer, he leaned in, placing his ear near her mouth, attempting to comprehend her words.
"Wa... ter," he heard her mumble, and a chuckle escaped him. Even in her drunken state, she managed to express her needs.
Walking to the room’s desk, he poured water into a glass and returned to her side.
Sitting comfortably beside her, he helped her sit up, making her lean against his chest, and assisted her in drinking the water.
"Mmm," she moaned, satisfyingly quenching her thirst.
After she finished drinking, Damien prepared to stand up, but he felt her fragile hands wrap around his wrist, holding him back.
"Don’t leave," she muttered in her drunken state, rubbing herself against him, stirring desire within him.
He wondered if she would be so willing when sober. At this rate, he wondered if she would fulfill her part of the contract given her reluctance towards mating with him.
Attempting to be a gentleman, he questioned his decision to deal with her in the morning and not in this vulnerable state. If
Gazing at her innocent face, he couldn’t bear the thought of hurting her. He playfully flicked her forehead and muttered, "You are very reckless."
Finally, he gently released her hold on his wrist, laid her back on the bed, and left her side.
Meanwhile, at the Welcome party, Scarlet was gradually sobering up and realized Aurora was missing.
"Mr, did you see my friend?! She’s wearing a crop top!" She yelled over the loud music, reaching out to a man beside her for help.
"What friend?!" The man asked, raising his voice to be heard.
"She’s wearing a crop top and..." Scarlet trailed off when the man turned away to dance with his friends, ignoring her.
Growing annoyed, she grabbed the man’s hair and pulled harshly, drawing attention to their confrontation.
"I am asking you a question!" She yelled, continuing to pull his hair, causing the man to struggle in her grip, unable to break free.
"I don’t know your friend, let me go!" The man eventually managed to free himself, eyeing her disdainfully for her actions.
Scarlet scoffed and smirked evilly, giving the man a menacing look. Seeing her fierce expression, the man cautiously moved away to avoid any further confrontation.
Pointing at him, she shouted, "You! I am going to kill you tonight!" And charged towards him.
"You are crazy!" The man yelled, as he anticipated a strike from her.
However, before she could strike, someone intercepted the blow, taking it on behalf of the man. The man was stunned as he recognized the person as the Alpha’s Beta.
Enoch, the Beta, apologized to the man for the altercation and then faced the furious Scarlet.
Annoyed by Enoch’s intervention, Scarlet glared at him, wanting to know why he intervened.
"Who are you to interfere?" She asked.
Enoch remained silent, knowing it was better not to provoke her while she was still partially intoxicated, aware of the destructive potential of her anger.
Enoch had taken great effort to approach her, receiving a blow himself before stepping in.
"Get lost!" She warned and started walking away.
In her drunken state, Scarlet stumbled backward but was caught by Enoch, saving her from falling.
She looked up at him with a displeased expression, having no desire for his help.
"I told you to leave my side," she warned him again, attempting to break free from his grasp, but he held her firmly.
"Aurora is with the Alpha, she wants you back to the mansion safely," Enoch explained that Aurora was with the Alpha and wanted Scarlet to return to the mansion safely. However, Scarlet didn’t care about his explanations and only wanted to be left alone.
"I am not a kid, I can take care of myself. Let me go before I lose it," she threatened him, delivering blows in her struggle, but Enoch endured it, allowing her to vent her frustration.
Enoch knew he couldn’t use Damien as an excuse to take her back to the mansion, as she loathed him. He was unsure how to persuade her, knowing she wouldn’t accept his help even if she were in distress.
"Scarlet, just for tonight. I can’t let you stay in this state, not anymore," Enoch implored. His words struck a chord within her, and she fell silent, reminiscing about the past and their emotional history.
Scarlet felt a little comfort from hearing him call her name, she has never liked being called Scarlet since ages.
This was why she avoided him ever since he came back to the mansion. She purposely left to see her family the night they came back, to avoid seeing his face
Despite this emotional response, Scarlet still declared, "I don’t care, let me be," her voice calm and composed.
With resignation, Enoch released her, taking a few steps back. Scarlet walked away slowly, leaving the hall.
Scarlet felt his presence behind her but she ignored him and decided to not care like she did years ago.
Enoch knew that she probably thought he would follow her, just as he did in the past, but this time, things were different. They were now strangers after the breakup five years ago, and he realized that his words had touched a part of her heart that had long been dormant.
He just needed to see her back to the mansion and he would let her be.
