All Heavenly destiny reduced to ashes

Chapter 621: Side Story: Great Wilderness Heavenly Sea - Part 1

Tides ebbed, birds chirped, and the shadow of clouds glided across the azure sky.

When Mingguang Dust awoke, he was lying on a white sandy beach rapidly being submerged by seawater.

The hot sand emitted waves of heat visible to the naked eye; the tips of the palm trees along the coast trembled with the sound of the tides, the wind cutting like a blade, causing the massive fruits to fall.

Gazing at the fruit slowly dropping, the newly awakened Mingguang Dust squinted his eyes.

It had been a long time since he had any rest.

Blind, his eyes no longer served him, and even with the Dharma Eye not often used, ordinary people thought he was merely closing his eyes to rest; yet his mind continuously deduced the Dao Law, relentless in his pursuit. The blindness alienated him from the world, yet allowed him to approach the Great Dao from an angle beyond the comprehension of the common folk.

But just before, Mingguang Dust had fallen into a rare deep slumber.

A warm sensation enveloped him, taking him away from a majestic yet silent will, across the vast Great Void, into a noisy and raucous will.

"I’ve left the Huai Xu Realm, lost in the chaotic flows of the Great Void, and arrived in a new world."

With myriad thoughts flashing through his mind, Mingguang Dust sifted through a sequence of memories, understanding the situation he was in, "That warmth... was it the power of the Endless Heavens? It feels very similar to when I arrive at the Endless Heavens."

"Those two wills..."

After a moment of silence, Mingguang Dust stood up.

His thoughts and actions were so swift that by the time he took a step to explore his surroundings, the coconut had not yet fallen to the ground, and was already caught in his hand.

Pop, pop. Mingguang Dust pierced two holes into the coconut, took a sip of the water, and then raised an eyebrow in wonder, "It even contains rich Spirit Qi? This coconut is a Spiritual Object."

The coconut water was cool and sweet, with a trace of Spirit Qi rejuvenating his parched lips and quenching his thirst slightly, easing the wear the battered Mingguang Dust had sustained.

After battling a Swordsman from the Shangxuan Sect within the Great Void, Mingguang Dust was in poor shape and in urgent need of Spirit Qi to recover.

However, worlds within the all heavens of the Great Void rich in Spirit Qi are few, and even less are suitable for human habitation. He did not believe he was so fortunate, yet to his surprise, he had indeed drifted to a distant world conducive to human life with a rich supply of Spirit Qi.

Looking up, Mingguang Dust surveyed his surroundings to discover he was on a beach on an island, the sun blazing down, the summer wind spreading warmth.

In the distance, a stranded ship resembled a beached silver whale, not one that traveled the seas, as there were no barnacles or other growths on its underside, its shape streamlined.

"Are there other intelligent beings on this island? And there are even Airships?"

Surprised, Mingguang Dust probed a little and immediately felt even more astonished—this realm was brimming with life, abundant with Spiritual Fiend, not inferior to the Huai Xu Realm.

That ship was not an ordinary Airship but a rudimentary and primitive Great Void Heavenly Ship... the weakest and most simplistic of its kind, yet still a hundred times more advanced than an Airship!

But it wasn’t just that...

"The Demonic Qi is dense."

Without hastily absorbing the Spirit Qi of the world, Mingguang Dust, although he hadn’t performed many cross-world missions, had visited numerous small cave skies and was well aware that one should not casually draw in Spirit Qi upon arriving in an unfamiliar realm. Even when he drank the coconut water, he was prepared to expel it at any moment.

However, this strange world’s Demonic Qi was somewhat peculiar—it didn’t have the intensity of active Demonic Qi, nor the almost motionless inertia found in some small cave skies; it resembled ancient snow buried in the Arctic ice plains, usually inert, but when someone moved vigorously or activated Divine Powers, it would melt and become active.

Mingguang Dust had not used any Divine Power that relied on external Spirit Qi, thus almost not stirring the Demonic Qi, but the current situation was enough to make him cautious: "A Great Void Heavenly Ship in distress? Such a dense Spirit Qi? And there’s Demonic Qi... This world is not simple."

Looking up, activating the Dharma Eye with the Spirit Qi of his Inner Array Realm, Mingguang Dust turned his gaze towards the deep sky.

At the zenith of the Heavenly Dome, the purple-green sun differed from that in the Huai Xu Realm; it did not look like a fireball, but a Candle Light, flickering intensely, surrounded by three layers of petal-like Arrays that spiraled complexly, interlacing, tremendously intricate, radiating boundless heat.

"Is this a small cave sky world?"

Mingguang Dust was slightly startled, realizing that the realm he was in was indeed not large, but rather just a small cave sky world.

But upon closer inspection, one could see a colossal continent floating atop the Cloud Dome of the Heavenly Sea at the apex of the sky.

Above the rolling clouds, a never-ending tide of visible Spirit Qi supported the entire world, like a giant hand cradling the heavens and earth, encircling the continent, with countless densely packed Sky Islands like sea islets, intricate as stars, hanging around the continent in all directions, connected by the Great Void.

Stars shimmered, like a Heavenly River of constellations, clouds and sky, sea and heavens merged into one, the purple-green Candle Light Sun illuminating this world, and the overly dense Spirit Qi mist condensed into seawater and fog around the cave skies and the continent, reflecting the sun and starlight above.

"This great world... is remarkable."

The Heavenly Sea, the Floating Continent, and the numerous Floating Cave Heavens separated by the Great Void, Mingguang Dust marveled at the peculiar structure of this strange world, also understanding why the ships of this world were so rudimentary, yet capable of crossing the Great Void—it was because the essence of the sea in this world was more like a Spirit Sea of the Great Void, watery indeed, yet more akin to the legendary weak water, where one would sink deep within and could not float upon reaching its depths; only a Heavenly Ship capable of traversing the Great Void could cross it.
