Aggressive Predator: If I'm Reborn, I'll attack every girl -
Chapter 28: SHIZUKA’S POV II: The End
Chapter 28: SHIZUKA’S POV II: The End
The fight was intense.
So much so, the ground rumbled as if giants were dancing upon it.
The two anomalies moved from pillar to post, at speeds no normal human could perceive.
Though, it was mostly Yam cutting down the Blue Beast—and it, trying futilely to retaliate.
As it stood, it was a stalemate:
Yam had enough power to fight the Aggressive Predator, but not enough to kill it.
And the Aggressive Predator had enough vitality and durability to withstand Yam’s relentless onslaught.
But then Yam smirked and bent very low, both swords angled behind him.
"Hehe!" he chuckled.
"If I can’t find your core, then I’ll just render the whole of you to shreds!"
As expected from the infamous Shredder—the man who once turned a Kaiju into fine mist within seconds.
In the next moment, it was as if Yam’s very existence had blurred.
But no—he was just that fast.
However, just as he was about to make contact—
CLANG!
A sharp sound—like steel on steel—rang out.
AP’s (Aggressive Predator’s) large, viscous limb had caught both blades.
Except now, red veins pulsed visibly through its gooey limbs.
Both Yam and AP trembled from the force of their clashing strength.
"Hmph," the Blue Beast began, each word carrying weight.
"I commend your ability to withstand me. In all honesty, I am surprised. You are strong."
Then, two red glows appeared on its normally blank face.
"However... I came not to battle you. I have achieved my objective and would rather not remain here. Obstruct me further, and I cannot guarantee your continued existence."
Yam chuckled darkly.
"You seem to misunderstand, my blue friend. I didn’t come here to ’save the day’... I came here to destroy you.
I care not for whatever objective you had. You’re not supposed to be here."
"Then should I not simply take my leave? To keep bloodshed to a minimum?"
"Are you jesting? Or are you that naïve?" Yam’s eyes darkened.
"In this world, bloodshed is unavoidable. I won’t let you walk away alive.
You’ve shown us murderous intent... and well—if I’m honest—I’m just bored out of my mind."
Hero, my foot.
Yam is no hero: he’s a villain on a leash.
He’s no different from the demons—or even that Aggressive Predator.
He doesn’t care if everyone around him dies, so long as he gets to enjoy his battle.
"Is that so?" AP grunted.
"Then brace yourselves—you have been warned."
As a red glow began radiating from AP, Yam’s expression immediately turned grave, and he tried to leap away.
Vaelora, too, wore a look of surprise.
"MAXIMUM DEFENSES, NOW!!" she shouted.
Ah... her voice came a little too late...
Or rather, it came right on time...
But for many of us present, it wouldn’t have made a difference even if we’d been given a head start.
These WOA (World Order Agents) are truly remarkable individuals.
For one-third of them to resist the onslaught that just erupted—that’s nothing short of brilliance.
But the rest... were severed.
Bones, sinew, muscle—all sliced like air.
Stalls, trees, even rocks in the distance—everything was cut clean, surgically.
The few who managed to raise barriers were the only survivors.
Though even then, many lost limbs, and several suffered ruptured bowels or torn skin from the residual force.
Intense wails and cries filled the area—a twisted symphony of anguish, orchestrated by the condemned.
*
What AP did was: still holding Yam’s blade, its torso—glowing with a red light—began to elongate. And then, suddenly, it separated from the rest of its body—only thin strands of flesh still connected the two halves.
This all happened at terrifying speed.
And as its torso closed back in on itself, as if compressing the red glow—
No. Not a glow. A glistening, flowing red substance—
It spilled out.
Like squeezing a hose with pressure, the red substance jetted forward and began to turn.
And with its rotation came mass execution.
It passed through the bodies of the agents so cleanly and effortlessly, one would assume it was a laser.
Yam immediately abandoned his green blade to defend himself. A cocoon of green attempted to wrap around him instantly.
He was late, though.
The red line reached him first.
It pierced through the cocoon like steel through glass.
For Yam, the red line behaved like a steel rod—unforgiving.
For the rest of us, it was a hot blade through paper.
The very definition of power and invincibility, I suppose.
Vaelora had conjured a hardened, transparent chrysalis that covered her completely.
It didn’t shatter... but it cracked—from top to bottom—and teetered on the brink of collapse.
As for me?
I watched the phenomenon in the pool of my own blood.
My severed lower half—still standing—collapsed to its knees, then toppled beside my upper half.
I couldn’t defend in time.
No, I did defend.
But the speed and violence of the red line ignored every effort I made.
As my consciousness began to blur and I sank deeper into the void, I saw Yam suddenly reappear beside AP—and with a devastating punch, he launched the monster forcefully into the mountain.
The shockwave alone vibrated through my already-ruined body.
Green, viscous substance poured from Yam’s arms, and those jade-colored swords materialized again.
He was saying something to Vaelora, but... his voice was muffled, far away...
Oh... am I dying?
Vaelora, still visibly shaken—probably by AP’s absurd strength—replied to Yam.
Then she turned to examine her cracked chrysalis.
I had a theory:
Perhaps that shield was composed of hardened space.
And by every natural and magical law... it wasn’t supposed to take even a scratch.
Then Yam vanished again, leaping so fast and viciously that only a blur of green aura remained trailing behind.
Anomalies... All of them.
I’m strong—among the strongest of humankind.
But in comparison to them, I’m no more than grime at the corner of a tree.
Beneath notice. Forgotten. Meaningless.
My breathing grew shallow. My head ached. My eyes burned.
Every part of me hurt.
I saw Vaelora healing the surviving agents, with a butler and a maid attending her side...
I wanted to call out.
"I’m here... Please, save me," I wanted to say.
But I couldn’t do anything.
All I could do was gasp for air and tremble in the dirt.
Ah... Vaelora opened a portal. And left.
Maybe...
Maybe I shouldn’t have come down here...
I suppose I’m dying soon.
Let me pass off all my power and mana to Benimaru.
My will, and final message—delivered through a mental interrupt.
Now that I’ve done that...
Perhaps I can die with just a little less weight on my chest.
...I said that.
But as I gasped for life in the cold soil, tears poured from my eyes—so much that I could no longer see anything at all.
Oh my...
It appears I wanted to live, after all?
Haha...
I was dishonest even with myself, wasn’t I?
In... my next life, I want to be an elementary school teacher.
In my next life... I want to be a lady.
A lady is not fit for this level of chaos at all.
Looking at Queen’s beauty falter as lightning ravaged her body... I understood that.
And... dying a virgin...
That was not part of my plans...
...I’m... cold...
End of Shizuka’s POV...
*
Back on the mountain, Queen’s corpse had been successfully cleansed of the lingering, predatory effects of Kaminari’s spell...
Though, only a charred shell remained.
As Benimaru wept over his fallen comrades—
"Aggressive Predator!! I will kill you!!"
—he screamed toward the distant horizon.
Then, suddenly, a mental interrupt surged into his mind.
At first, it was his own thoughts.
’I shouldn’t burden Shizuka with my crying... We all signed up for this the day we joined the agency. I know that. I really do. But still... losing someone you love like this—
It hurts.
What would I do... if Shizuka were to die too?
No. I have to get stronger.’
And then, the message came.
"Benimaru, once again, I am sorry for your loss.
I’m sending this final message as I have fallen in battle—a battle I had no right to join, just like many great warriors before me.
I leave you with this final order, Benimaru:
AS LONG AS YOU LIVE, NEVER CEASE TO HARBOR INTENSE AND DAZZLING LEVELS OF HATRED FOR AGGRESSIVE PREDATOR.
ENGRAVE IT INTO YOUR SOUL AND MIND THAT IT IS THE ENEMY—AN UNPRECEDENTED EVIL THAT MUST BE TERMINATED AT ALL COST.
Avenge your wife. Avenge me. Avenge the many innocents who will perish in the future because of this great evil blighting our world.
Please... Hunt down AP using my power. Using the strength of everyone who’s died. End this.
Train harder, as the new captain.
Make sure no one else has to face the horror that Queen and I faced tonight.
This sad, sad evening.
To be honest, I don’t believe Yam can defeat it. I don’t think anything physical can—not until we understand how its vessel works.
But we are the Nappa Supernatural Control Agency.
This is the work we do.
I trust your competence, Captain Benimaru. I leave everything to you now.
Farewell."
Then another message followed, just as suddenly:
"Also... due to my cowardice, I couldn’t say it in fifteen years of knowing you.
But I love you, Benimaru.
And I will always love you.
Goodbye."
"Sir? Sir?!"
One of the agents nearby called out, alarmed.
