Yu Chi lowered his eyes, concealing the thoughts swirling within them. Then he weakly shook his head: "In this state... I probably couldn't withstand even a casual strike from you."

Yu Li inwardly scoffed.

Quite the act.

Leaning against the wall, she turned to see Yu Yu still standing frozen inside the elevator. "This male ghost is your brother?"

Suddenly addressed, Yu Yu hurried out of the elevator, her face pale from shock with beads of cold sweat on her forehead: "...Yes."

Remembering Yu Li's identity, she hesitated, hardly daring to believe this new intern was actually a mysterious Taoist priest. Cautiously lifting her head to see the relaxed expression on the girl's face, she pressed her lips together: "Then... are you going to take my brother away?"

Yu Li slightly raised an eyebrow, repeating with complex emotions: "Take away?"

Glancing sideways at the young man standing nearby and not missing the flash of ferocity on his face, she blinked, clapped her hands, and tilted her head with a charming smile: "Sure, I'll help him attain salvation!"

At these words, Yu Chi stiffened beside her, his face darkening.

What nonsense was Yu Yu spouting!

Gritting his teeth, he suddenly dropped to his knees with a thud, humbly pressing his forehead to the ground. "Before that... could you help me avenge those deceased patients? That evil ghost has claimed too many lives! Even I died tragically by his hand! I want to see him utterly destroyed with my own eyes!"

His voice trembled, yet his resolve was unshakable, making the performance almost convincing.

Yu Li propped her chin on her hand, looking down at the scene, her fingertips conveniently hiding her curling lips. "Help you?" Surprisingly agreeable, she said, "Sure, I was going to deal with Bo Jingmo anyway. Though if you want him dead, I'll need some time."

Yu Chi continued: "One more thing... may I participate personally?"

Yu Li raised an eyebrow, slowly crouching down to meet the ambition barely concealed on the young man's face. "You want to participate?"

Putting on a submissive act, he said: "I'm just unwilling to sit by. Any contribution would satisfy me. I'll follow your orders completely."

Suddenly pausing mid-sentence, he lifted his head: "And you've surely noticed—that evil ghost bears striking resemblance to the hospital director. Do you know what their connection is?"

"Connection..." Yu Li rubbed her chin. "I'm investigating that too. Only discovered that ghost and Bo Jingmo don't seem to get along."

She appeared completely unconcerned about the young ghost before her, freely sharing what she knew.

The corner of Yu Chi's mouth lifted imperceptibly, his tone taking on an eerie quality: "I see..."

Yu Li's eyes flickered as she silently smirked and stood up. "Alright, I'll take my leave now. Other matters await."

Once the girl's figure disappeared down the dark corridor, Yu Chi slowly rose from the floor.

Watching this, Yu Yu stood confused nearby until she heard her brother's voice: "Sister, that woman is no real Taoist priest."

She froze, instinctively asking: "How do you know?"

Yu Chi tilted his head back, eyes closed, his smile turning derisive. "Have you ever seen a Taoist priest fraternizing with ghosts?"

That woman carried Bo Jingmo's aura—all that power was protecting her. Interesting how that male ghost would protect a supposed priest.

Opening his eyes, he narrowed them: "Though not a priest, she's undoubtedly using evil ghosts to enhance her cultivation—probably some dark arts."

But none of that mattered now. He'd obtained the crucial information—the director and that evil ghost were at odds.

Which meant he could target that human.

Only problem—the fifth floor was hard to access. That man's yang energy was too intense; Yu Chi never dared expose himself there for long.

The thought made his teeth itch with frustration.

Living Bo Jingmo brimmed with yang energy, while his ghostly doppelgänger wielded terrifying power. Couldn't measure up alive, couldn't measure up dead either!

But... wasn't this exactly why he'd summoned Yu Yu here?

Turning to her, his sickly face gradually formed a pleading smile. "Sister... do me a favor, won't you?"

[This Yu Chi is clever, but cleverness often backfires—correctly guessing Yu Li isn't a priest, yet completely misreading the situation??]

[LMAO, "dark arts" now?]

*Ahem*, seducing ghosts totally counts as dark arts~

[Let's call it "skills" instead (dog head)]

[Skills indeed! But seriously, her priest cover blown so fast?]

[Could it be... she intentionally left clues for Yu Chi? Feels like she's orchestrating something big.]

[Hehe, whatever—I'm just here for the drama!]

...

The priest act was too flimsy anyway; even Yu Li knew that. But convincing them wasn't her goal.

Reaching the corridor's end, Yu Li abruptly stopped, brows furrowing. Without a word, she quickened her pace to the familiar room.

The door opened, and a familiar scent enveloped her as a delighted voice sounded by her ear: "Lili! You came to see me!"

But Yu Li's face remained stern, her expression darkening when she sensed the ghost's fading energy. She gritted her teeth.

Bo Jingmo, you're awfully efficient at killing yourself.

Flicking the light switch, she confirmed her suspicion—the ghost before her had visibly paled since last time.

Like an injured puppy, he alternated between hiding his discomfort and whimpering pitifully: "Lili, see how cruel that human is? I told you he's bad—he bullied me again when I did nothing wrong."

Yu Li kissed his cheek: "Does it hurt?"

Bo Jingmo nuzzled against her, crimson eyes narrowing happily: "Lili's kisses make it better." He buried his face in her neck, gently scraping his fangs against that soft, fragrant skin—never biting hard, only tenderly sucking and kissing.

Yu Li tilted her head, permitting his antics while ruffling his hair. She couldn't stay long—someone would notice soon.

Holding the evil ghost close, she whispered: "Jingmo, do me a favor?"

Without hesitation, Bo Jingmo eagerly leaned in, excitement obvious in his voice: "Okay! I'll help Lili!" He agreed instantly without even asking what it was.

Yu Li pressed her lips together, meeting the ghost's sincere, passionate gaze. "What if it means your death..."

"Still yes." Bo Jingmo kissed her furrowed brow, his gentle voice softening further. "Because I love you."

Seeing his weakening energy, Yu Li suddenly said: "Sit on the bed."

"Hmm?" Blinking confusedly, he obediently sat down. "Lili, what are you—"

Her hand on the light switch, Yu Li smiled at him with curved eyes. "Teaching you what we didn't finish last time."
