Chapter 698: Chapter 662: Infiltrating Stephens Family, Divine Harrison Skylar (2nd Update)
"How did you end up like this?" Yvette Foster initially thought he was possessed, and had physicians examine him, including Emily Lynch who specialized in curing such conditions, but they found nothing out of the ordinary.
All they could infer was that his own heart had changed.
Or perhaps, the Adam Stephens the world knew from the beginning was just a facade.
This, then, is the true Adam Stephens.
"Sir, the family leader asks for your presence," came a servant’s voice from outside the door.
Adam Stephens rubbed his brow, saying, "I’ll go first."
Yvette Foster turned around to pick up the two crying children, ignoring Adam Stephens.
The transformation of her husband, the birth, and the unconscious state of the two children took a great toll on Yvette Foster.
Anyone without the mental fortitude to handle it would have already gone mad.
Whether it’s Chloe Stephens or Alex Stephens, either one could depart in their sleep.
Under such mental torment, not even a single tear dared to drop from Yvette Foster’s eyes.

Building 2.
As soon as Adam Stephens walked in, Pierce Stephens slapped him across the face.
This strike startled everyone present.
Adam Stephens too, looked at Pierce Stephens in shock.
Cody Stephens sat at the back, watching this play out. He wanted to say something, yet held back his words.
"Look at yourself now, do you resemble who you were before? Adam Stephens, what happened? Why did you become like this?" Pierce pointed in the direction of Chloe and Alex, "Your own children are lying there, their lives hanging in the balance. And you? You’re out there carousing every day like a coward!"
This slap was too light.
Adam slowly furrowed his brows as he looked at Pierce Stephens, "They are in a coma and there’s nothing I can do. What more does our father expect me to do?"
"Starting now, halt all your work. I will arrange for someone to take over. You will stay at home during this time and accompany your wife and children." Pierce had never been more disappointed in Adam, "Yvette has done so much for you and yet you’re falling deeper into depravity. Truly disappointing."
Charlotte Richardson looked at Adam Stephens with a reproachful expression, "I can help during the day, but ultimately, I’m not you. The person Yvette needs right now is you."
Adam’s gaze turned cold, "So, who does our father plan to substitute? Cody? Yes, he’s more deserving, for he is indeed your son. I, on the other hand, am nothing but your pawn."
"Adam Stephens!" Charlotte Richardson slammed the table, her voice full of rage, "Surely you know how much we’ve done for you! The future of the Stephens family is yours, but your current behavior is incomprehensible and heartbreaking."
Adam gave them a cold stare, then turned to leave.
"Adam Stephens, where are you going?"
Pierce Stephens asked furiously.
Adam didn’t answer his question, instead he just walked away decisively.
"Let him go, we’ll arrange for someone to take over his work."
Pierce nodded, massaging his throbbing forehead. "How on earth did Adam end up like this?"
"The Taylor Family and the Lynch Family have also checked him, and they found nothing unusual," Charlotte would rather believe that Adam was under someone’s control than accept the fact that his nature had drastically changed.
If his previous affection for Yvette Foster was also an act, then Adam Stephens was truly terrifying completely intolerable.

Somewhere in the tall buildings of Sheffield City.
A slim figure entered through a half-open door and looked at the restrained Albert Webb, a cold smile playing on his lips.
A neutral, icy voice echoed, "It seems that your family cares a lot about you. They’ve turned the city inside out, looking for you. We finally figured out the reason; we couldn’t control the vast knowledge of you ancient martial artists to see your future and past, it was entirely due to the influence of Dark City."
Albert Webb stared coldly at the person before him, "You’ll pay the price for this."
"Dilbert Jones, six months ago, Harrison Skylar died." The man sneered, "Oh, you wouldn’t remember him. He was the one who passed on the information to us, enabling us to take his place and continue the search. Our line of succession was broken when it reached you and that’s when we found out about the Stephens Family. He had infiltrated there long before he disappeared. We found that the Stephens Family harbors someone you deeply care about."
"I suppose that’s why Harrison Skylar instructed us to torture the Stephens Family slowly, to make you watch as they crumble. Oh, and that Slaughter Squad, we won’t touch them for now, but we can’t say for certain about the future."
Albert Webb took a deep breath and ground his teeth, "What have you done to the Stephens Family!"
"You might not know that six months ago, the person you care about seems to have been affected by the attack on Dark City and fell unconscious from grievous injuries."
"What..." Albert Webb’s eyes widened in shock, and he looked up at him with an ominous glare, "You did this?"
"It was Divine Harrison Skylar."
The conditions at Dark City at that time were clear only to Len Hawthorne and Chloe Stephens.
The others had no idea about what had happened.
Even Austin Godfrey and Blake Watsons did not know what happened outside the summit of extremes.
So, this person just assumed that Chloe Stephens was heavily injured in the aftermath.
No suspicions were raised in that regard.
As for the one called Len Hawthorne, they harbored a few doubts about him.
But once they heard about the curse on his body, they dismissed his identity.
That person couldn’t possibly be tainted.
He was more pure than anyone, how could he have such dark items?
Such things would not get close to his body.
Len Hawthorne was not the person they were looking for.
On the contrary, the one named Austin Godfrey was most likely.
"What god? What you do deserves the title of a god? It’s laughable."
Albert Webb laughed sarcastically.
The man’s face changed, showing a hint of anger as he grabbed Albert Webb’s collar, "If it weren’t for that person, we were the gods standing at the pinnacle. You half-wasted ancient martial artists could have been disposed of with a flick of our wrist, even while we were sealed off."
"Then why don’t you dispose of me?" Albert Webb suddenly smiled full of malice and abruptly, he unleashed his ability.
The man’s eyes widened slightly, his body trembling gradually, radiating fear.
Albert Webb’s body convulsed, the opponent’s cultivation was too strong. His attempt to bless the opponent was akin to irrigating a desert with a creek.
Thus, he needed to unlock the energy stored in his body.
The sudden increase in energy instantly blanketed the other person.
It absorbed all of their suffering and calmed their heart.
While healing others, he was injuring himself. Albert Webb bore endless suffering, slowly digesting it on behalf of the other person.
The man abruptly pushed Albert Webb away, turned around and fled the room in a frantic state.
Albert Webb clutched his heart, the destress had nearly brought him to tears.
"Dilbert Jones."
A voice suddenly broke into his thoughts. Albert Webb’s eyes widened, his breaths heaving.
Chloe Stephens.
He could save Chloe Stephens.
"Bang!"
Albert Webb used his strength to break the wall of the tall building. The shattered glass window fell from several floors high.
Behind him, the silhouette of a woman lunged down, trying to pull him back.
Albert Webb clenched his teeth, and charged out, landing heavily on the ground, with his brain flooding with blood, his body numb.
Ignoring the pain, Albert Webb jumped up and dashed out. The woman wanted to chase him again, but there was a sizable crowd over there.
She cursed under her breath and had no choice but to return and manage the scene before relocating.
With their abilities, the Slaughter Squad couldn’t trace them at all.
