Chapter 594: Chapter 558: She is not someone the Crowley Family can afford to provoke (Part 2)
Blake Watsons had a stern face while ordering ten bank cards with one billion on each.
After sending several cards out, everyone in the Watsons Family could only feel a piercing pain in their hearts.
It was ten billion yuan!
The Slaughter Squad might as well be renamed to the "Money-Sweeping Squad" at this rate.
They were either destroying families or collecting astronomical fines.
"Is there any problem now?"
Blake Watsons didn’t want to clash with Len Hawthorne again for the time being.
On the punitive expedition, he clearly saw Len Hawthorne’s rapid growth, and the silent figure behind him.
Furthermore,
Chloe Stephens’s abilities on display had already gone beyond the scope of ancient medical techniques.
He was certain.
If Chloe Stephens had been willing to take risks back then, she might have been able to really pull Steve Hawthorne back from Hell.
Now he was very curious about Chloe Stephens’s real identity!
Also, there’s the fate Austin Godfrey had calculated for Len Hawthorne.
Austin Godfrey must have seen a lot more things back then.
It was simply unimaginable what kind of effects these two people working together would have.
Their collaboration made Blake Watsons somewhat cautious.
Austin Godfrey was unwilling to cooperate with Blake Watsons in getting rid of Len Hawthorne, so Blake Watsons was initially a bit annoyed and wanted to make the Godfrey Family suffer some losses during the punitive expedition.
But before doing that, the matter ended with Steve Hawthorne’s death.
While the Watsons Family suffered heavy losses in this punitive expedition, it also exposed another ability of Len Hawthorne’s.
That kind of multi-layer barrier, even he could not create it with just a wave of his hand.
But Len Hawthorne did it.
*
At night.
Chloe Stephens left the Aerospace Institute.
She refused Logan Thomas’s offer to send a car and walked a part of the way alone.
She planned to stay in Len Hawthorne’s small manor tonight.
At this moment,
a few figures appeared out of nowhere.
Ancient martial artists!
Chloe Stephens’s pace faltered.
"Chloe Stephens, come with us."
"It’s better if you cooperate, we don’t want to take action against you here."
The Slaughter Squad was stationed in the Imperial Capital, and they still wanted to preserve their lives.
Chloe Stephens looked at them indifferently.
She guessed the origin of these people.
At the punitive expedition, Len Hawthorne erased memories of many people, so there weren’t many that could remember her taking action back then.
The people she offended were either from the Watsons Family or the Hawthorne Family. The Hawthorne Family had already been destroyed and could not possibly send anyone else out.
The Watsons Family wouldn’t be that stupid.
So, that left only one family – the Crowley Family.
"The Crowley Family."
Chloe Stephens uttered coldly.
The ancient martial artists furrowed their brows, their eyes turning even colder.
"You better cooperate," one of them reached out to knock Chloe Stephens unconscious, but she dodged effortlessly to the side.
"The Crowley Family just wants to die faster," the girl’s voice was filled with bone-chilling coldness.
Hearing her words, the ancient martial artists were almost angered to the point of laughter.
"Little girl, you better watch your mouth, or else you’ll be inviting disaster upon yourself."
Without any further hesitation, the ancient martial artist launched an attack on Chloe Stephens.
However, as soon as he swung down, his whole body flew up in the air.
He flew backwards and was severely injured right on the spot.
The others looked back in shock and disbelief at Chloe Stephens.
Chloe stood still, not moving a muscle.
It seemed as if the one who just acted wasn’t her.
"Attack!"
Their cultivation levels were not low, so they couldn’t be scared by a little girl.
Everyone took action.
Chloe still stood there, calm and composed.
Without making any moves, Chloe used her mental power to send these people flying.
When they finally came to their senses, they saw a glint of cold light in front of them, and their pain intensified.
The silver needles had entered their bodies, and without strong inner power, they could not stop the needles from wreaking havoc within them.
Chloe withdrew her strength, and the silver needles pierced out of their bodies, returning to her hand.
The whole process didn’t even take five minutes.
After dealing with these people, Chloe left unhurriedly and sent a message to Morgan Crowley at the same time.
She told him that the Crowley Family had sent people to assassinate her.
*
A black sedan stopped outside the gate of the Crowley Mansion.
Morgan Crowley, dressed in a suit and leather shoes, walked aggressively toward the small residential building with a murderous aura surrounding him.
The servants saw Morgan’s furious expression and hurriedly stepped aside.
Ivy Crowley and Hazel Foster were waiting for news from the outside, but they didn’t expect Morgan to return on his own.
After their first big quarrel, Morgan rarely came home.
Every time he came back, there would always be a heated argument before things finally calmed down.
Seeing Morgan, everyone’s expressions grew heavy.
Morgan strode in with icy eyes, yanked at his tie, and angrily questioned, "Did you guys send people to assassinate Chloe Stephens? Have you gone insane, daring to lay hands on her?"
His voice practically roared with the last sentence.
Seeing how much Morgan cared about Chloe, Hazel and the others’ faces darkened.
Hazel said angrily, "Look at what you have become, running back home to question your own family for an outsider. Are you still a member of the Crowley Family?"
Morgan sneered, "Do you know who stands beside Chloe? You dare send people after her. Today she gave me a heads up and didn’t come directly to the Crowley Family, giving me face. If you don’t want the Crowley Family to end up like the Hawthorne Family, don’t provoke Chloe. She’s not someone our family can afford to mess with."
Ivy frowned, thinking that Morgan was making too big of a deal out of a small matter.
It’s just a little girl, so what if she has the support of the Stephens Family?
Morgan’s father, Tim Crowley, frowned upon hearing this and sternly asked, "Morgan, have you taken a fancy to that little girl from the Stephens Family?"
Morgan rubbed his temples, "You saw it at the Punishment Meeting. Len Hawthorne stands behind Chloe. You know how terrifying the rumors about Len are in the Imperial Capital. Don’t doubt Len’s intentions towards Chloe, and don’t try to do anything else."
Hazel coldly said, "With Len’s fate, he wouldn’t dare to genuinely care for Chloe. Without the Hawthorne Family, do you think the other families in the Imperial Capital would pay him any attention?"
That’s why Len only managed to secure his position due to his peculiar fate, not by really winning with strength.
People who exploit their own fate are utterly contemptible.
"Elder brother, what’s your relationship with Chloe? You come back home and argue with our family just for her sake," Ivy couldn’t help but ask.
But all she got in return was Morgan’s cold gaze.
"I’ve said my piece. Whether you want to listen or not is up to you. If something happens to the Crowley Family because of provoking her, I won’t help." Morgan clenched his teeth and left after throwing these words at them.
Hazel was quite upset, "Look at him. We made a small mistake, and we’ve already apologized. What does he want to do, leave the Crowley Family?"
Tim Crowley silently sat on the sofa, puffing on his cigarette.
"Mother, perhaps elder brother is just momentarily confused."
"He must have been bewitched by that little demon! We can’t let her succeed!" Hazel’s eyes flashed with an icy killing intent.
Ivy bit her lip, thinking about how to tell Austin Godfrey about the situation when she met him later.
With Chloe being entangled with her elder brother and getting so close with Len Hawthorne, they wouldn’t even need to hire actors to stage a show—there was already a handle to grab on right before their eyes.
Ivy smirked coldly as she went over the scene in her mind again and again.
It was as if she could already see Austin’s twisted and infuriated face upon hearing about Chloe’s situation.
