Chapter 379: Chapter 352: Disturbing (3 more updates)
"Captain Hawthorne, we received a message from Juan Fisher in the Water Dungeon."
In the grand building, a team member handed the fax over to Len Hawthorne.
Len gave it a glance, clicking his tongue, "This Fisher Family leader is really something, quite ambitious."
The team member looked over and was astounded, "They said they’d hand over the entire Fisher Family to you! Captain, you’re about to make a fortune!"
"Not just that, they also promised to work like cattle and horses for Captain Hawthorne. As expected of a family leader, truly grand ambitions!" Another team member chimed in with admiration.
Len found it amusing as well.
"Captain, should we release the prisoner?"
"Release them? Do you think I’m that kind of person?" Len put down the fax, smiling mischievously, as if scheming something.
"Should Captain Hawthorne settle accounts with the Fisher Family’s property?"
Len couldn’t help but glance at the insightful team member and patted him on the shoulder, "You have a promising future!"
The team member grinned, "It’s all thanks to Captain’s teachings!"
"Get back to work!"
"Yes, sir!"
He saluted and scampered off to complete his task.
The others threw scornful gestures at him.

Ever since that night, Austin Godfrey started paying attention to Chloe Stephens.
After secretly observing her, he learned that she belonged to the Stephens family and had been hovering around the school. He lingered nearby for half a day as well.
Sensing something, he turned to see a handsome man bathed in sunlight.
This man.
He was even more unforgettable than Austin’s own forefather.
"Why is someone from the Godfrey family targeting a little girl?"
"Captain Hawthorne."
Austin nodded towards Len.
"Leave Sheffield City. I don’t want to visit the Godfrey family, and I assume you don’t want me to visit either."
Len had a cigarette dangling in his mouth, hands in his pockets, and wore a camouflage outfit, looking serious yet slightly sinister.
Austin stared at Len.
He was weighing his options.
Len’s phoenix eyes narrowed, and his smile turned dangerous, "Don’t set your eyes on me; you’ll bring ruin to the Godfrey family."
Austin: "..."
He thought this man was quite full of himself.
"Let’s forget the incident that night. Within half an hour, I hope not to see you loitering around Sheffield City; otherwise, your forefather will receive the betrothal gift from the Hawthorne family tomorrow."
Austin frowned.
"Sorry for the disturbance."
Austin left without saying another word.
He didn’t want to talk to this nut job.
From Len’s intervention to Austin’s departure, he knew that Chloe Stephens would be protected by Len Hawthorne.
No matter the reason, Chloe wouldn’t disclose the events of that night to anyone.
Austin left with many unanswered questions.
He didn’t find the cause of the disturbance, and there was no chance to investigate the rumored Divinity Temple. Going back like this was a bit regrettable.
But he didn’t want to see Len Hawthorne bringing a betrothal gift to the Godfrey family.
Len squinted his phoenix eyes and clicked his tongue, "The Godfrey Family is meddling in these matters again, just like they did years ago..."
A glint of coldness flashed across his eyes, quickly returning to their original state.
Len’s gaze fell onto the depths of the school.
Standing there, letting the wind caress him.
He clearly remembered how the Godfrey family ancestor stepped in and spoke, and how his own parents sealed him away while looking at him with disgusted eyes, as if he would bring death to them.
The cigarette in his hand crumbled.
The smell of smoke drifted in the air.

School.
In the classroom.
Chloe slowly turned her head to look outside the window, staring in a particular direction.
Because it wasn’t far, she could sense that the person who was following her had left, and another familiar presence had mixed in.
As soon as the bell rang for the end of the class.
Chloe walked out of the school gate and arrived at an empty space behind the wall.
She noticed two fresh pairs of footprints in the area.
Since this area wasn’t paved with concrete and was meant for planting flowers, there were piles of soil nearby. Anyone stepping on it would leave a mark.
Chloe stared at the footprints, her lips pursed, and her expression tranquil!
