Chapter 246: Chapter 219: Now, You Are Also a Disabled Person (1 More)
Chloe Stephens walked out of the Trial Hall in one piece. This was not good news for Building 11.
Midnight.
Gideon Stephens was awakened by a nightmare.
There was no one by his side, and Freya Leonard was still in another room recovering from her injuries.
Awakened all alone in the late night.
Gideon only felt a cold air invade his body, making him shiver.
Even though he used ancient martial arts techniques, he couldn’t disperse the cold air.
"Meow."
Gideon heard a faint cat meow.
He turned his head to look at the window.
Nothing.
"Meow."
Just as Gideon was about to close his eyes again, he heard another cat meow.
He opened his eyes and saw a black cat walking on the ceiling, suddenly leaping down towards him.
His eyes widened.
However, the black cat just landed on him, not hitting his face.
He, as an ancient martial artist, was actually frightened.
Despite his severe injuries, the protection of ancient martial arts allowed him to sit up now.
He suddenly raised his hand to catch the black cat.
But the black cat jumped to the side and, in a flash, leaped onto the desk.
Its black and purple eyes stared at him coldly.
Gideon frowned.
Suddenly, the window on the second floor was blown open by the wind.
A gust of wind blew in.
Gideon glanced outside.
As a result, he saw the girl sitting on the window ledge, and his face changed.
He hadn’t detected her presence at all!
"Who are you?"
He suddenly sat up, his expression cold and stern.
Chloe Stephens entered.
The light turned on.
It illuminated the entire room.
After seeing the girl’s face clearly, Gideon was incredulous, "It’s you!"
When did she climb up here?
He couldn’t detect any fluctuations in her body.
How did an ordinary person manage to sneak in here without making a sound?
Gideon wondered if he was injured, causing him to lose even this level of alertness.
"Get out, what are you doing here?"
Chloe ignored Gideon’s gloomy face as she slowly walked over to the chair and sat down.
She just looked at him coldly.
"Jump down the same way you climbed up, or do you need me to throw you down?" Gideon said coldly.
Chloe crossed her legs, sitting quietly like a jade statue.
Her disregard for Gideon’s words completely angered him.
"You’re courting death," he said, getting up to take action, but suddenly his body went numb, and he fell back down.
Before he could understand what was going on, a cold voice said: "This is the fourth time."
"What," Gideon frowned, "Don’t think that just because you’re crazy, you can come here and act up. Killing an ordinary person like you is just a matter of minutes."
As he said this, Gideon raised his hand, releasing his strength.
A gust of wind rushed out, only stirring the hair in front of Chloe’s face - he knew that his powerful strength wouldn’t hurt her at all.
What was going on?
Could it be that his injury had caused the ancient martial arts to lose their effect?
No way.
Gideon gathered his strength again, but the outgoing force still couldn’t shake the girl sitting quietly there.
"Meow."
The black cat’s meow seemed to mercilessly mock him.
The black cat jumped off the desk, slowly walked to Chloe’s side, and stood by the chair, staring at Gideon.
Gideon felt that the black cat was indeed laughing at him.
His face turned black as the bottom of a pot at that moment.
"Chloe Stephens, get out!" He grabbed something from the table and threw it at Chloe.
If Chloe were an ordinary person, her head would have been smashed on the spot.
The hard stone-like box flew towards Chloe’s face.
"Bang!"
With just a single inch left, the solid box automatically broke.
Even Gideon Stephens, being foolish, saw there was a problem.
His face turned green instantly, "You’re not Chloe Stephens."
"Over the past six months, there have been four groups of people from Building 11 sent to Mountain County. You were pulling the strings behind the Trial Hall event, right?"
Chloe asked indifferently.
Gideon furrowed his brows.
Chloe was correct, but they had always been very meticulous about their actions. How could she know?
Could it be that Adam Stephens had told her?
Despite being an elder, Gideon had no fear towards Chloe, who was just an ordinary person.
He sneered coldly, disdainfully saying, "Chloe, whether your brain is good or bad, if you block Rowan’s path, you’ll die. Your father can’t protect you all the time in the Stephens Family. Sometimes, he can’t even protect himself, let alone take care of you."
"So, do you think killing me is as easy as sweeping away fallen leaves?"
"At least you have some self-awareness," Gideon narrowed his eyes as he scrutinized her. "You used to look stupid. You still look stupid now, but at least you know how to think. It’s an improvement, but unfortunately, after saying such things today, don’t expect to leave here unscathed."
Gideon’s face showed a cold smile.
"You’ve got a lot of guts, daring to say such things to me."
Hearing this, Gideon let out a cold laugh.
"It seems you’re still stupid. Staying in the Stephens Family only adds more ridicule. It’s better to die cleanly. It’s funny to think that at first, we didn’t even have to bother getting rid of you. But that’s how it led to the current situation."
"I have only one question. Were the people sent to the school also from your group?" Chloe slowly leaned forward, staring at Gideon.
Gideon frowned, "What school?"
"Seems that it isn’t," It was not unexpected, Chloe was certain that someone was lurking in the school, ultimately causing the original girl’s death.
The school violence had only severely injured the original girl.
What was truly fatal was the other wound.
Chloe said, "Tonight is your last chance to speak."
"What..."
Gideon’s angry words were abruptly forced back down before he could spit them out.
For once, he could clearly feel the pressure from a strong person.
His eyes widened, "You’re an ancient martial artist!"
Chloe’s eyes narrowed, an overwhelming aura surged forth, her strength suppressing all of Gideon’s resistance.
Her hand slightly raised, and gripped the void.
"Crack!"
Gideon’s eyes bulged.
Pain and despair hit him simultaneously.
He could feel his entire body’s strength evaporating, even the last bit of power in his core abs was drained.
His appearance instantly turned pale.
His body was weak and limp as he lay on the bed, writhing in pain.
The torment of wanting to faint from the pain was torturing his body and mind.
"You... you..."
"Now, you’re also crippled."
The girl came to the bedside.
She looked down on him from above.
Chloe’s words made Gideon’s eyes widen even more, and he used the last bit of his strength to glare at her.
"Who exactly are you?"
"Chloe Stephens."
It can’t be Chloe.
Gideon wanted to raise his hand, but his hands and feet were numb, and he couldn’t even make that simple movement. He tremorously lifted them, only for them to fall back down weakly.
"It can’t be her, that waste..."
"If my mother can become an ancient martial artist, why can’t I?"
"But the Trial Hall didn’t detect any talent in you."
"The strength of a human body can’t be measured by a broken machine."
"There has never been such a situation," Gideon had never heard of such a phenomenon.
"I won’t kill you," Chloe slapped him in the throat.
Gideon’s tongue instantly lost its sensation.
His eyes were so wide they couldn’t close.
He couldn’t get up or speak, he could only listen and watch.
As for everything else, he couldn’t do it anymore.
Gideon was now consumed with fear!
Nothing but fear, he had never thought he would end up like this.
"Your son took the Taylor Family’s medicine, a failed product. In two months, he will leave this world before you."
Gideon’s cries of shock were only choked whimpers. With one movement, waves of bone-piercing pain assailed him.
In the end, he fainted directly from the pain.
