After Prison, She Shocks the World -
Chapter 108 Leaving Yunxi Lane
Chapter 108: Chapter 108 Leaving Yunxi Lane
Fu Bing returned home, quickly organized her thoughts, and then called Uncle Yun.
"The Yunhui family is moving out of Yunxi Lane, and Madam Chu’s health is worsening daily. The Chu Family Embroidery House will soon be neglected. We can accelerate the original plan."
There’s no need for Ya Garden and the Chu Family Embroidery House to remain separate.
Even if Yunhui wanted to manage the Chu Family Embroidery House, its sheer size was simply too much for her.
It wasn’t that her management skills were lacking. Rather, those people underestimated her, so no amount of effort on her part would have helped.
"Yunhui is leaving Yunxi Lane?" Uncle Yun exclaimed in shock.
How could she bear to leave Yunxi Lane?
He thought she would guard Yunxi Lane for her entire life, along with the embroidery she held so dear.
"Now is the best time to take over the Chu Family Embroidery House. I’ll need your help with the next steps," Fu Bing said indifferently.
Uncle Yun suddenly came to his senses and asked, "Why do you want to take over the Chu Family Embroidery House? Ya Garden’s development has already surpassed the Chu Family Embroidery House. Is it still necessary to take it over?"
"As long as the Chu Family Embroidery House exists, Ya Garden will always be ranked behind it." Fu Bing then asked pointedly, "Or have you suddenly become reluctant to destroy the Chu Family Embroidery House?"
"I was just startled by the news of Yunhui leaving Yunxi Lane. Did you do something to her?" Uncle Yun couldn’t help but inquire.
"It seems you’re quite familiar with Yunhui. Why can’t she leave Yunxi Lane?"
Uncle Yun responded grimly, "She’s obsessed with embroidery. Ever since she was young, she has been particularly fond of it and devoted the majority of her time to it. Someone like her wouldn’t easily abandon Yunxi Lane unless she faced a severe setback. What have you done to her?"
Uncle Yun’s tone was no longer merely inquisitive but accusatory.
Of course, Fu Bing noticed the change in his attitude.
"You should be asking what Madam Chu has done to her. She’s a master at hurting others."
Realizing he had overstepped, Uncle Yun apologized, "Sorry, Miss Ya Rui, I just..."
"You don’t have to talk about your past if you don’t want to. The plan for Ya Garden to take over the Chu Family Embroidery House is already set in stone. I have no objections to you returning to Jiangnan to handle your past or to meet old friends. But no matter what happens, I am determined to have the Chu Family Embroidery House."
"Please allow me a three-day leave, Miss Ya Rui. I would like to visit Jiangnan."
"Alright."
Fu Bing hung up the phone.
With Yunhui leaving Yunxi Lane, the Chu Family Embroidery House will sooner or later fall into someone else’s hands.
Rather than letting others get their hands on the Chu Family Embroidery House, it would be better for her to take control of it.
As soon as Uncle Yun hung up the phone, he swiftly left Ya Garden.
He told the driver to head back to Jiangnan.
The closer the car got to Jiangnan, the more nervous he became.
Having left Jiangnan twenty years ago, he had never set foot on its land since.
The wind and water of Jiangnan were unique, unlike any other place.
Softer, more beautiful, warmer.
As the car crossed the large bridge spanning the river, he turned his head and gazed into the distance.
A few boats drifted on the broad, flat river, a profoundly picturesque scene from any angle.
The beauty of Jiangnan could be found everywhere.
This environment is what made Jiangnan’s embroidery and porcelain so distinct.
Only after feeling the breeze of Jiangnan did he realize how much he missed it.
He longed for his... daughter...
He had cowardly fled Yunxi Lane years ago, leaving young Yunhui to take his place.
He knew full well what kind of person Madam Chu was, yet he had still abandoned Yunhui in Yunxi Lane to face Madam Chu alone.
Now, she was leaving too.
Could they truly no longer protect Yunxi Lane for the Yun Family?
Uncle Yun was both ashamed and regretful.
The car stopped at the entrance to Yunxi Lane. Two moving company trucks were parked there, and workers were carefully handling items.
Fu Chan reminded them from the side, "The boxes contain my wife’s embroidery. Please handle them with extreme care."
"Don’t worry. We’ve used multiple layers of shockproof and drop-proof packaging. There won’t be any damage."
Fu Chan frowned upon seeing the out-of-town license plates.
Have these people already caught wind of this and come to buy Yunxi Lane?
When Uncle Yun saw Fu Chan approaching, he opened the car door and got out.
Fu Chan’s gaze turned cold the moment he saw the man’s face.
He said sarcastically, "What wind blew you here?"
Uncle Yun ignored his sarcasm and said anxiously, "Where’s Yunhui? Are you really moving out?"
"Can’t you see for yourself?"
"Once you leave Yunxi Lane, it will no longer belong to the Yun Family. The ancestors of the Yun Family will surely be turning in their graves!"
"So what? You could escape, Fu Ya could leave, why can’t Yunhui? Hasn’t she guarded this place enough? She’s dedicated nearly half her life to Yunxi Lane. What has she received? Doubts from others, betrayal and slander from her own kin. She hasn’t even received basic respect. What more do you expect from her?"
Uncle Yun had nothing to reply.
Fu Chan watched the two trucks gradually fill up, not sparing a glance at Uncle Yun.
"Leave before she sees you. I won’t allow anyone to drag her into this vortex again! I just want her to live happily and embroider what she loves, not be slandered and vilified by others!"
"Once you leave, Yunxi Lane will change hands, and the Chu Family Embroidery House will cease to exist. The owner of Ya Garden has been eyeing the Chu Family Embroidery House, and Ya Rui has a detailed plan to take it over. Are you really willing to let the Chu family’s century-old brand be destroyed by your actions? Can you bear that responsibility?"
Fu Chan was unmoved. "It’s bound to collapse sooner or later. It wouldn’t be so bad if it collapsed in our hands! You claim to love the Chu Family Embroidery House so much and feel such a sense of belonging to it, so what have you been doing all these years? Don’t think I don’t know your whereabouts. You’ve been working in Ya Garden, leading others to take over the Chu Family Embroidery House’s market. You’re the biggest traitor responsible for destroying the Chu Family Embroidery House!"
Uncle Yun shook his head. "I haven’t! I was just learning from more capable people. Many of Miss Ya Rui’s philosophies are similar to Yunhui’s. I wanted to learn from her for a few more years and then return to help Yunhui revitalize the Chu Family Embroidery House."
Fu Chan scoffed, "Do you even believe that yourself? Don’t make me resort to force. Get lost!"
With that, Fu Chan turned towards home. He then stopped short.
Yunhui stood ten paces away. Seeing the annoyance and surprise in Fu Chan’s eyes, she smiled gently at him. "Go back and stay with Ruyun and Ruhui. There are too many boxes in the house; I’m afraid they’ll trip."
"Come back with me."
"I want to talk to him."
"I don’t want you to be confined here any longer."
Yunhui’s smile became even more tender. "Trust me, I won’t stay. He’s returned, so it’s a good opportunity to say goodbye to him properly."
Fu Chan couldn’t bear to force her.
He had known her since she was a child.
Even as a toddler, she would stare with wide eyes, identifying various silk threads. Her chubby little hands would grip the needle, carefully threading it, not crying even when pricked.
She would purse her plump little lips and continue threading, sometimes panting with effort.
She rarely thought of anything else, solely focused on improving her skills.
When people called her embroidery rubbish, she wouldn’t argue.
Instead, she would listen intently to their opinions and then diligently try to find solutions.
No one loved embroidery more than her, and no one was more suited to it.
Yet, everyone undermined her!
