Chapter 66: Chapter 067: The Heavy Rain Turns the Entire City Upside Down (1)
Of course, Lou Xi never ended up asking that question.
Not long after, the takeout Qin Mobai ordered arrived, authentic Japanese cuisine—sashimi, sushi, salmon...
Placed on the dining table, it looked incredibly exquisite, a far cry from the egg and tomato noodles Qin Mobai made earlier—this was truly a taste of heaven!
Besides, Lou Xi’s family wasn’t particularly wealthy, and she wouldn’t usually go out of her way to eat such pricey food. Seeing authentic Japanese cuisine, her first reaction was to gulp.
Then, she felt a bit anxious.
"Young Master Qin, if you keep buying such expensive food, I might not be able to dine with you anymore in the future." Lou Xi was a bit dejected; once or twice was fine, but if Qin Mobai kept this up, Lou Xi felt she’d be indebted.
"You think I bought it for you?" Qin Mobai noticed the emotion in her eyes and said lightly, "I haven’t had dinner yet."
"Oh, then go ahead and eat. I’ll tidy up the kitchen; after all, I already ate your noodles and I’m pretty full." Saying that, Lou Xi then walked toward the kitchen.
Qin Mobai slightly frowned and said, "I don’t like eating alone. Come over, sit down."
He spoke commandingly, his deep-set eyes fixed on Lou Xi, making it seem as if not sitting down beside him was akin to breaking the laws of nature.
"Still not coming over?" Qin Mobai raised his voice slightly, showing the authority fitting of Young Master Qin.
Lou Xi immediately came over and sat down, hands placed on her lap, obedient like a schoolchild.
Qin Mobai picked up his chopsticks, grabbed some salmon, dipped it in wasabi, and placed it on the plate in front of Lou Xi.
"The way you’re staring, I’m worried I might have indigestion." After that, Qin Mobai helped himself to a piece of sushi and ate slowly.
...
Later on, Lou Xi ended up eating together with Qin Mobai. He said he didn’t have much of an appetite and emphasized that the food wouldn’t be as good leftover, prompting Lou Xi to finish it!
Lou Xi left the table feeling completely satiated.
Suddenly, there was a torrential downpour outside!
Lou Xi quickly rushed over to close the window to prevent the rain from coming in and soaking the furniture—otherwise, she’d have to compensate the landlord for the damages.
The rain was pouring heavily, and Lou Xi began to worry a bit. How would Qin Mobai drive home in such torrential rain?
Currently, Qin Mobai was sitting comfortably on the couch watching television, showing no sign of wanting to leave.
"Young Master Qin, with such heavy rain..."
"With such heavy rain, are you telling me to leave now?" Qin Mobai said casually.
"I meant to wait until the rain lets up before leaving."
"Hmm." He nodded in response, then continued watching television without saying another word.
It was a rather dull documentary; Lou Xi was almost about to fall asleep.
Time ticked away, and Lou Xi was really starting to nod off on the couch, while outside, the rain showed no sign of easing up!
Lou Xi opened her eyes again, checked the time, and noticed it was already 10 PM.
At this hour, keeping Young Master Qin at her place seemed a bit inappropriate, right?
"Young Master Qin, I’m really sleepy; how about I see you downstairs?" Lou Xi was truly tired and eager to retreat to bed.
"It’s still raining outside." Qin Mobai didn’t even look back, "It’s heavy." He added.
The raindrops hit the window with a loud splash.
"There’s a typhoon today." Qin Mobai glanced at the corner of the television revealing a typhoon warning.
"So shouldn’t you go back and make sure your home is all secure?"
"If I have an accident on the way, will you take responsibility?"
