Chapter 365: Chapter 214 Helping Yu Jiao Open a Shop_2
In this regard, Wu Mengting undoubtedly miscalculated. After all, she’s still young, hasn’t even been in a relationship, let alone married and divorced, totally unaware of the mindset of a divorced woman hurt by a man.
Lin Yujiao and Chen Feng returned to the hotel room; having just recently interacted intensely, the two rare moments found them lying side by side on the bed, watching TV and chatting casually.
"How many goods did you bring from Guang City this time?" Chen Feng asked.
"Twenty to thirty thousand worth, just testing the waters first."
"Did you bring them along?"
"Yes, they’re right in my trunk; twenty to thirty thousand worth isn’t much."
"That’s good. Saves you another trip. By the way, tomorrow, rent an apartment here on the way. You can let Mengting help."
"No need to bother her. Finding a realtor should make it easy to rent."
"Anyhow, we’re going together tomorrow, so first ask her, a local, maybe her friends and family have places for rent, much more reliable than realtors."
"Alright then."
...
Early the next morning, at half past six, Wu Mengting called, saying she was already downstairs at the hotel.
Chen Feng and Lin Yujiao were somewhat speechless, but fortunately, they also managed to sleep last night, going to bed before eleven, so being woken was not so bothersome.
However, Chen Feng originally planned to exercise with her in the morning.
Now, with Wu Mengting’s interruption, it was somewhat inappropriate.
About half an hour later, they finished washing up individually, went downstairs to meet Wu Mengting, then went to the shop.
Just a six-square-meter little shop, really nothing much to see; they basically came to help Lin Yujiao receive it, then sign a lease contract and hire a renovation team to revamp it quickly for opening. Two or three days should suffice.
Opening the rolling shutter door, it’s a straight view inside; Chen Feng then instructed Wu Mengting, the assistant, to take out the already prepared lease contract, signing it with Lin Yujiao. The term is three years, the monthly rent is six thousand, paid monthly.
Except for that, there’s not much else involved.
The two signed the contract inside the empty shop, each holding a copy.
Lin Yujiao was very pleased, said she would treat them to lunch. Chen Feng smiled without refusing, and more so, Wu Mengting was definitely in.
Next, Chen Feng talked to Wu Mengting about renting an apartment.
Wu Mengting did not purposely avoid helping, after some thought, she took out her phone, made a few calls, and soon found a fairly suitable apartment for rent.
It’s just two to three kilometers away from Longhua Street; the three of them immediately went to see the apartment.
In a community nearly twenty years old, its walls were repainted, and the entrance was quite decent, at least there’s a security guard at the gate, not an old man, but a middle-aged uncle, with necessary vigilance. The three of them were stopped on entry, only allowed in after registering.
The landlord is a friend of Wu Mengting’s father from before, having some personal ties; the families know each other. He warmly invited the three to see the apartment.
He owns three units in this community, the one being rented now is the smallest, about sixty square meters, having one bedroom and one living room, equipped with bed, refrigerator, TV, air conditioner, and water heater.
This apartment was always rented out; the previous tenant wasn’t very disciplined, frequently called a bunch of folks over for loud drinking, often receiving neighbor complaints, later even causing security issues.
Of course, it wasn’t criminal, just the tenant, after drinking with a few companions, somehow started arguing with one of them, resorting to fighting, severely, eventually requiring police intervention, the tenant was arrested for intentional injury.
Thus, he, the landlord, was also summoned to the police station, making him reluctant to rent again.
If Wu Mengting hadn’t called, he wouldn’t be renting now either; seeing Lin Yujiao, a female tenant opening a clothing shop on Longhua Street, deemed her reliable, and with Wu Mengting’s goodwill, he waived the deposit requirement, asking only for quarterly rent payments, with a monthly rent of fifteen hundred, pretty cheap.
Therefore, Lin Yujiao immediately rented the apartment.
With housing settled, Lin Yujiao took out the phone number of the already contacted renovation team, calling to arrange a meeting in the afternoon.
Meanwhile, she began cleaning the rental, Chen Feng kindly helped as well, clearing out unwanted items.
Seeing them, Wu Mengting couldn’t stay idle, helping to wipe the windows.
The trio working together finished up the room, roughly within an hour.
Following Chen Feng’s suggestion, they bought a door lock to replace, along with some daily necessities.
After almost completing everything, it was already noon.
Lin Yujiao did as she promised, inviting them for lunch; they picked the restaurant they dined at last night, its flavors were very nice, with prices not too high.
The three ordered eight dishes, totaling more than four hundred bucks.
Post meal, after chatting a bit, the trio went to the shop.
Not long after, the renovation team’s boss arrived, contacted by Lin Yujiao earlier with agreed prices and plans, a preliminary contract signed, deposit paid, work immediately commenced, expected to finish by the day after tomorrow, so the shop could open.
After payment, the renovation team swiftly came over; Lin Yujiao instructed the foreman, seeing their hustle, didn’t linger long, telling Chen Feng she needed to return to Lin Nan to move her belongings, asking if he’d like to accompany her.
With her asking, Chen Feng naturally agreed to go along; she being a young lady needing help from a guy when moving house was sensible.
Lin Yujiao greatly appreciated it.
And Wu Mengting also expressed willingness to help; at the least she had a car, could help transport more stuff.
Lin Yujiao didn’t refuse, thanking her.
Thus, the three drove two cars to Lin Nan. At Wu Mengting’s suggestion, Chen Feng rode in her car. Lin Yujiao had no objections.
Once in the car, Chen Feng promptly warned Wu Mengting not to reveal his return to his mom.
Wu Mengting was somewhat puzzled, asked for the reason.
Chen Feng replied, "I’m afraid if my mom knows I’m back, she’ll hold me for at least ten days before letting me return to Xiu Zhou."
Wu Mengting inquired, "Do you not enjoy staying at home?"
"Of course not," Chen Feng affirmed, "I lived in Xiu Zhou for over a decade, settled in that lifestyle. Plus I’m grown now, living with parents feels awkward, don’t you agree?"
Wu Mengting commented, "I think not really. Your parents are very approachable, moreover, you actually don’t have formal work in Xiu Zhou, just trading stocks, which you can do back home. Besides, you now hold shares in Sister Guo’s company, shouldn’t you oversee your shareholder duties?"
