Chapter 331: Chapter 331 Transfer 1
Jiang Mianmian, who was accustomed to living in the countryside, of course preferred this kind of detached courtyard. It was so spacious and comfortable, and she didn’t have to worry about the neighbor downstairs knocking on their door if she stepped too heavily.
Jiang Changhai watched his daughter running around the rooms, and her happiness was infectious.
"Mianmian, the biggest room is for your mother and me, and you can choose any of the other rooms for yourself. In a few days, Dad will buy you a set of tables and chairs for your study desk," Jiang Changhai happily anticipated.
"Okay, Dad, I want the one next to yours, the one with good sunlight," Jiang Mianmian chose her favorite room.
Jiang Changhai and Su Wanyu cleaned up the new house for a while, and seeing that it was getting late, they began to think about heading home.
"Alright, wife, let’s stop tidying up for now. We’ll buy the other stuff in the next few days. It’s getting late now, we should head home," he said.
"Okay, let’s go then," Su Wanyu agreed, massaging her slightly sore legs, tired but happy.
Having bought the house, they had resolved a major concern for the family, and the three of them walked back home leisurely.
"Daughter, let’s keep the house purchase a secret for now and not tell the rest of the family until we’re ready," Changhai instructed.
"I know, Dad. Don’t worry, I promise not to say a thing," Mianmian assured him seriously.
The next day, Jiang Changhai got up a bit earlier than usual and went to the teacher’s office with Mianmian.
Teacher Liu was preparing for class when she saw the father and daughter searching for her, and asked with concern, "What’s the matter, Mr. Jiang? Is there something wrong?"
"Teacher Liu, I bought a house in town a couple of days ago, and now Mianmian’s household registration can be moved there, so I want to transfer Mianmian to the primary school in town. Thank you for taking care of her during her time at this school," Jiang Changhai stated his intention directly.
Teacher Liu was shocked to hear that Mianmian was transferring schools.
Mianmian was recognized as a prodigy by the school, a genius that she had seen growing up.
How could she bear to see such a promising student leave?
The other teachers in the office also looked over when they heard Jiang Changhai.
Come back to her senses, Teacher Liu immediately said, "Mr. Jiang, I hope you can think it over again. Mianmian has been studying at our school for a year now and has adapted to all aspects. Transferring her to a new school hastily might affect her learning."
"Teacher Liu, I’m sorry, but we made up our minds about this a while ago. We bought a house in town precisely to let Mianmian study there. Moreover, being closer, we will have more time to take care of our daughter," Jiang Changhai spoke politely but his resolve was firm.
Seeing the situation, Meng Weidong quickly went to the principal’s office next door.
"Principal, something is wrong. Mianmian’s father just said he wants to transfer her to the primary school in town," Meng informed.
"What? Why so suddenly?" the principal asked in surprise.
"They bought a house in town and moved their residence. He’s right next door now, talking to Teacher Liu. Please come and have a look," Meng suggested.
When the principal arrived, Teacher Liu was still trying to persuade Jiang Changhai.
"Mr. Jiang, Mianmian is going to start the fifth grade next semester, which is a crucial time. We understand her learning progress the best," she explained.
"If she transfers schools now, she will need to adjust to the teaching methods of the new school, and they might not agree to Mianmian studying on her own. It might even delay her learning. If she stays at our school, we will certainly do our best to tutor her," Teacher Liu concluded.
