Chapter 367: Chapter 367: The Sick Need the Most Care!

"Okay." Sang Qiao followed, still holding little Si Tiantian’s leg.

The family of three got into the car, and the driver headed to the hospital where Si Chenli was, while Si Jing watched from his window, only able to wait at home.

His mobility was limited now, and going out might just cause them more delays, so it was better to stay at home.

Hospital

When Sang Qiao and the others arrived, Si Chenli had already been taken to the operating room. They were too late to talk to Ah Li before he went in for surgery.

"Excuse me," Mrs. Si couldn’t help but ask a passing nurse, "a surgery similar to cosmetic ones shouldn’t be too dangerous, right?"

"Normally there are no major issues, but every surgery carries risks. Just relax and wait," the nurse answered officially.

"Okay." Mrs. Si nodded her head and sat in a nearby chair, trying not to think too much.

She shouldn’t scare herself over a minor surgery; Ah Li would definitely come out safe and sound.

Si Tiantian was usually talkative, but now she kept quiet, sitting beside her mother and waiting for their father.

They had no idea how long they had been waiting outside before Si Chenli was finally wheeled out of the operating room.

"How is my son?" Mrs. Si asked eagerly, her heart aching as she saw her son’s face wrapped in gauze.

"The surgery was very successful, and the results look good."

"Thank you. So after he rests, can he be restored to his original appearance?"

"Yes." The doctor nodded, remembering the face from the photos and couldn’t help but sigh at the strange aesthetics of young people nowadays.

The original face was already quite handsome. Why alter it unnecessarily, only to find the original features more appealing and wanting them back? It’s such a hassle.

But that wasn’t something he could question. Having told the family what they needed to know, he turned and left.

Si Chenli was then pushed by other white-coated individuals to rest in the ward.

Sang Qiao sat by the hospital bed, her gaze resting on the man lying there.

"Qiaoqiao, you stay here and take care of him. I’ll go see what kind of food is available around here."

Mrs. Si said before she planned to leave; moreover, with the limited hospital beds, they also needed to find a nearby hotel to stay temporarily.

"Okay, Tiantian, go with her and see what you want to eat."

Sang Qiao nodded slightly, her eyes on her daughter.

"Alright." Si Tiantian nodded obediently.

After the two of them left, the ward suddenly quieted, leaving only her and Si Chenli, who had yet to wake up.

So Sang Qiao sat there, watching over him, not playing with her phone, a faint smile on her lips.

As she was intently gazing at him, Ah Li’s eyes fluttered, and soon after, he opened them.

Si Chenli was momentarily stunned, not expecting to see Sang Qiao there. He moved his lips, "Qiaoqiao, how come you’re here?"

"Why didn’t you tell us that you had regained your memory?" Sang Qiao, with her distinctively clear eyes, stared at him.

"I didn’t want to worry you all." Si Chenli’s hand under the blanket unconsciously tightened; he thought he had hidden it well, but Qiaoqiao still found out.

"We’ll worry more if we’re not by your side, and after the surgery, you’ll need time to recover. Can you hide it for a day, ten days, half a month?"

Sang Qiao had already guessed this answer. Rather than blaming Ah Li, she wanted him to understand that they didn’t need to hide things from each other, and whatever happens, they could face it together.

She didn’t like the idea of concealing certain things under the guise of "it’s for your own good."

"Sorry," the man finally gave in, not arguing any further. He truly hadn’t considered things thoroughly.

"It’s okay, does it still hurt?" Sang Qiao stared intently at his bandaged face, daring not to touch. She didn’t even know what part of Ah Li had been operated on.

Initially, the joy of knowing Ah Li was still alive had clouded her mind, so much so that she hadn’t blamed the Bai Family’s assistant for making his face look like someone else’s.

Now, seeing Ah Li lying in the hospital bed with pale lips brought a resurgence of distress and regret in her heart.

She wasn’t sure whether letting off the Bai Family’s assistant so easily had been the right thing to do.

"It doesn’t hurt. Do mom and the others know?" Si Chenli stretched out his large hand from under the blanket and held Sang Qiao’s hand.

"Mm."

"Si Jing told you?"

"By that tone, do you still want to blame him?" Sang Qiao furrowed her brows slightly.

"No, just asking," Si Chenli chuckled softly. With Qiaoqiao’s questioning tone, even if he initially did intend to blame Si Jing, the thought had now dissipated.

Initially, he had intended to have his younger brother help manage the company and provide a cover—that’s why he had told him. But he hadn’t expected... he couldn’t keep secrets; it had only been the first day, and he’d already spilled the beans.

However, the moment he opened his eyes and saw Qiaoqiao by his side, his heart filled with warmth.

"Right, just asking. If it hadn’t been for Si Jing spilling the beans, would you have planned to wait until you were fully recovered to tell us?"

"Yes."

"Ah Li, I don’t need any surprises from you; I just want you to be safe and by my side."

Sang Qiao was quite sure she knew what this man was thinking; fear of worrying her was one thing, wanting to surprise her was another.

"I promise you, I won’t keep anything from you hereafter."

"Mm, mom and Tiantian went to buy food, they should be back soon."

"Okay." Si Chenli’s voice was husky as he gently looked at his little girl.

He remembered... before he had regained his memories, Qiaoqiao had once mentioned that she wanted to have another baby with him after he recovered.

He truly wanted that too, but the thought of the hardship of childbirth made him unwilling to let Qiaoqiao suffer through it. Having Tiantian was enough.

Both lost in their thoughts, they waited until footsteps could be heard from outside the door.

Mrs. Si came in holding Tiantian’s hand, and seeing that Ah Li had opened his eyes, they both eagerly approached.

"Ah Li, how are you feeling now?"

"Dad, are you better?" Si Tiantian also leaned in by the bed, blinking her big eyes inquisitively.

"I’m fine, feeling pretty good now." Si Chenli’s lips curled into a faint smile.

"That’s good, we bought some fast food. Seeing you like this, I thought you wouldn’t be able to eat much, so I brought you some porridge. Make do with it, and when you’re better, you can have something nicer."

Mrs. Si’s heart ached looking at her son like this; her two sons had both suffered this time.

"Okay."

"Dad, do you want me to feed you?" Si Tiantian offered with concern. She remembered being so weak when she was sick that her mom had to feed her.

"No need, I can eat by myself, thank you Tiantian." Si Chenli looked at his daughter’s tiny arms, doubtful they could even hold a spoon steadily, but he was touched by her desire to look after him.

"Then you eat by yourself, be careful, it’s hot." Si Tiantian repeated the warning her mother gave her, directing it at her father.
