Chapter 374: Chapter 264: Seeing Xu Yiran Again
Fu Tingzhou drove Tang Xi to a private estate.
Tang Xi had never been here, but she checked the location on her phone, and it turned out to be the famous Qianshuishan Wine Manor on Beidao.
This is the place of Beidao’s largest wine merchant, Song Qianshan.
Wine banquets are often held here, and many of Beidao’s celebrities come to participate in the wine tasting events. Gu Zhiyi had accompanied Lu Shili here several times. Since Lu Shili is a cousin of the Song family, calling Song Qianshan uncle, she mentioned this place to Tang Xi during casual conversations.
Seeing Fu Tingzhou’s car, the bodyguard immediately led them inside.
Along the way, Tang Xi saw many luxury cars. Fu Tingzhou parked the car and walked with Tang Xi towards a crowded area not far ahead.
Tang Xi looked down at her clothes, which were just ordinary, simple everyday wear. She felt out of place here. She didn’t want to come, even detested attending such events.
Yet, the man in front of her had threatened her using her own daughter.
However, what slightly reassured Tang Xi was that Fu Tingzhou had not yet met her daughter.
He had not discovered that they once had a child together.
Her hidden secret remained a secret.
Tang Xi took a deep breath and followed the man, watching his back.
Watching the delicate and handsome profile of his face illuminated by the flickering lights, her steps were slow, always following half a meter behind him. Suddenly, he stopped. Tang Xi stopped as well.
A man in his forties wearing a Zhongshan suit approached, greeted Fu Tingzhou with a relaxed smile and a hug, then picked up two glasses of red wine from a tray held by a server. After a few moments of warm conversation, the man turned his gaze to Tang Xi standing behind Fu Tingzhou, "Young Fu, is this your companion?"
Fu Tingzhou did not look at Tang Xi; he merely slightly raised his hand, reaching over Tang Xi’s waist, and gently pulled forward, causing Tang Xi to walk forward two steps, standing shoulder to shoulder with him.
Fu Tingzhou gently nodded, "Tang Xi."
His voice slightly hoarse, he uttered her name. He neither acknowledged nor denied that she was his companion, merely introduced to Song Qianshan that the woman he brought was named Tang Xi.
Song Qianshan glanced at Tang Xi. The man raised his eyebrows slightly, seemingly surprised that Fu Tingzhou’s companion looked so ’ordinary’.
Tang Xi also noticed, feeling the other’s gaze sweep from her head to her feet, eventually settling on her ordinary, inexpensive shoes.
Tang Xi knew that the man in the Zhongshan suit was Song Qianshan, the host of this place.
Fu Tingzhou engaged in business discussions with a few men, while Tang Xi slowly moved to a seating area on the side.
She glanced around, noticing that tonight’s event was an outdoor evening banquet at the vineyard.
There were many attendees. Tang Xi sat in a corner of the rest area, watching the elegantly dressed, distinguished young men and women coming and going.
Everyone had groups of friends, chatting and laughing together.
Tang Xi, however, enjoyed a rare moment of tranquility.
She silently prayed in her heart for the banquet to pass peacefully and quietly, hoping that by around eleven o’clock, she could be soaking in a bath at home.
Someone approached Tang Xi with a glass of wine, "Miss, are you alone?"
Tang Xi looked at the offered glass of wine and then at the unfamiliar yet somewhat frivolous young man. She declined expressionlessly, "My boyfriend is here."
The young man, skeptical from a glance at Tang Xi’s attire, clearly did not believe her. He knew most of the well-dressed heirs and heiresses who frequented this place, and Tang Xi, dressed as she was, appeared here for the first time; the young man assumed that Tang Xi came to the wine dinner on a friend’s invitation as an ordinary person.
"Beauty, don’t be so cold, okay? Do you know who I am?" The young man took off his wristwatch, "You would never earn as much as this watch in your whole life. Just keep me company and make me happy, and you can have whatever you want in the future. You can often come to such high-end parties."
Tang Xi, "...."
She was utterly stupefied by the presumptuousness of the young man in front of her.
She stood up and looked around, searching for the figure of Fu Tingzhou.
Where did this man go?
He brought her here and then neglected her.
Suddenly, a male voice said, "Your watch might be liked by many girls, but I believe my watch is worth more."
