Chapter 191: Chapter 191: Jewelry Competition Invitation
Isabella Weaver was unaware of everything Harry Hunter had done; she received an invitation to a jewelry competition.
Moonlight Jewelry, together with several small jewelry companies, was planning to hold a large auction, with all proceeds to be donated to charity.
At the same time, Moonlight Jewelry would announce the champion of the jewelry design competition at the charity auction, and certificates and bonuses would be awarded on the spot to the top ten competitors. They would also sign these individuals, fostering a new generation of emerging designers.
Moonlight Jewelry invited various socialites and the top thirty contestants to this auction, and Isabella Weaver was among them.
Being able to enter the top thirty already made Isabella feel surprised and delighted. She wasn’t thinking about any championship or top ten finish; she was just a newcomer with a long road ahead.
The contract from Moonlight Jewelry no longer held an extraordinary attraction for her. On one hand, it was because it was her godmother Cherry Lewis’s company; on the other, negotiations with other jewelry companies were going smoothly, and she had already decided to join one of them.
However, she still wanted to go see the auction; entering the workplace later would inevitably mean dealing with various people in the jewelry industry, which she was completely unfamiliar with. This auction was an excellent entry point and channel.
The most important thing is, she also had to go to collect her prize money!
She had painstakingly stayed up late drawing so many design sketches, all contributed to Moonlight Jewelry—the money was necessary.
Only, she didn’t have a suitable evening gown for such an occasion.
Back when she was with the Weaver Family, Christopher Weaver frequently took Rose Parker and Ella Weaver to various banquets; although Isabella had never attended, she knew an evening gown was a must. The Weaver Family had a special large walk-in closet for Ella and Rose’s gowns, regularly maintained by designated personnel.
Fortunately, she wasn’t a celebrity—just a little nobody—so wearing an ordinary dress wouldn’t attract attention.
She opened the wardrobe, which was filled with various clothes Harry Hunter had bought for her.
She picked a silk lotus-colored long dress, paired it with the black blazer and high heels she’d bought a couple of days ago—she looked quite presentable.
Isabella chuckled, though her handbag wrapped like a dumpling did look a bit strange.
Aunt Hart and Aunt Spring looked at her in the mirror, sincerely praising, "Young Madam is truly beautiful!"
Isabella’s hand was injured, making it inconvenient to dress herself, so she called them to help.
Aunt Spring’s daughter was about the same age as Isabella; seeing Isabella was like seeing her own daughter, delightfully saying, "Young Madam should dress up more often in the future. Which celebrity could compete with this appearance? Especially the skin—so white it glows, saving on makeup entirely!"
Aunt Hart, however, never had children. Her husband was an alcoholic and gambler, who would beat her when drunk or after losing money. Unable to endure anymore, she divorced him and had been living alone for years.
She looked at Isabella with affection, feeling that Isabella was without a trace of arrogance, never picky or troublesome—the most agreeable mistress she had ever served.
Moreover, because of her, Harry Hunter’s temperament had become much better; he had previously been quite harsh with them. Since Isabella arrived, not only did he frequently give them bonuses, but he even greeted them!
Aunt Hart chuckled and said, "No wonder Young Master treats Young Madam like a treasure. If I had such a daughter-in-law, I’d hold her in my hands for fear of dropping her and keep her in my mouth for fear of melting her!"
