Chapter 335: Chapter 78 Actually Yila Knew

So, shifting the perspective back to Yila before his arrival, after the unfolding of the Death Trigger, turning to Raphael with a request to "talk"... we come to Raphael inside Yila’s World.

In fact, Yila’s Death Trigger was not as fragile as it seemed.

"I wasn’t confined, nor am I in an Illusion Realm... right?"

Raphael asked this, dispersing the sword in his hand into Light Particles, watching the light points rise and disappear between Yila and him... Yila, dressed in the attire of this world, looked particularly dashing.

He resembled... an elegant rogue, no, more like a sophisticated scoundrel... or rather.

To use an accurate adjective, he had the feeling of an elite human.

"Hmm, you’re much sharper than I imagined."

Yila said this as he looked at his suit and tie, shook his head helplessly, casually loosened his tie, and tossed his jacket aside. Clearing his throat, he casually called to a passing person, "Get me something more comfortable to wear."

Then, under Yila and Raphael’s gaze, the person nodded and walked away...

Shifting his focus to himself, Raphael analyzed his physical condition while curiously saying, "What am I now? Mana still exists, but there is no significance in drawing it... something similar to a soul, but not quite."

Listening to Raphael, Yila looked at him in surprise. As he took the clothes handed to him by the AI robot and put them on, he said, "You’re even more composed than I imagined... do you know Schrodinger? Ah, to explain it to you..."

Yila tried to find words that Raphael could understand. While walking forward, he said, "I’ll take you to eat something first. I’ll explain it to you slowly along the way."

Eat something? What exactly was Yila Elkaras thinking?

"My race is Angels; Angels do not need to eat."

Raphael said this while following Yila, adding, "I can’t figure out my situation, but I’m sure... your soul contains everything here, all of it."

Speaking, Raphael watched Yila organizing his thoughts. While looking at the myriad of architectural forms around him and the countless souls that formed an entire civilization, he said, "You are not originally from the Main Plane... you are a remnant of a civilization."

Yila, who had no intention of denying Raphael’s words, nodded and responded, "Yes, I am the last survivor of a civilization; you could say it’s the destroyer’s mercy... so, it’s rather funny that I can’t hate the people who were supposed to be my enemies."

Saying this, Yila led Raphael into a place resembling a restaurant. Raphael recognized with difficulty that outside, the restaurant had the word "porcelain" in Ancient Celtic.

"Boss, two bowls of plain noodles, large bowls for both."

Yila gave the order to the restaurant owner, motioning Raphael to sit next to him. While waiting for the noodles, he explained, "This is a noodle shop. Before the world’s destruction, I liked coming here to eat noodles."

Then, under the contemplative gaze of Raphael, Yila began to recount the story of Schrodinger’s cat from the beginning: "Put a cat in a sealed box. You can’t use any power to directly detect whether the cat is alive or dead."

"Inside the box, there is an alchemy potion with a fifty percent chance of exploding within ten minutes, but the explosion’s force is insufficient for you to know from outside whether it exploded. The cat itself would also remain silent."

Yila casually explained a version of Schrodinger’s cat adapted to an alternate world, then asked Raphael, "Ten minutes have passed. At the instant of the tenth minute, is the cat alive or dead?"

"..."

To Raphael, this was a very dull story.

"Fifty percent chance it’s alive, fifty percent it’s dead."

Though such an answer showed he didn’t understand, Yila could still continue, saying, "What about after a hundred days? You still can’t open the box... but can you presume the cat is dead?"

"..."

Raphael pondered, thinking about the meaning of Yila’s words until the two bowls of noodles were served. He slowly said, "Although the probability is low, there’s still a possibility that it’s alive... am I the cat?"

It seemed that Raphael’s comprehension was terrifyingly high, truly deserving of being an outsider...

"To the outside world, they can’t determine if you’re alive... but you can’t get out, and neither you nor the people outside, not even I, the releaser, can open the box."

Yila said this as he broke apart the chopsticks, gesturing for Raphael to taste, "Try the plain noodles here. The broth is exceptionally delicious. I used to come here every week... of course, that was before the Destruction of the World."

"..."

"..."

The destruction of civilization...

Raphael thought, even as an outsider, it was the first time he felt a sense of *no return to the past*. He unknowingly mimicked Yila’s movement, breaking his chopsticks, and removing his helmet, revealing a face filled with extreme righteousness.

Yes, this was the only description... light, greatness, justice.

As if all justice stood upon it.

"So, if the box can’t be opened, then I am indeed dead."

Raphael said this, struggling to use the chopsticks. After frowning, he awkwardly picked up some noodles and ate in the same manner as Yila... the taste was indeed very good, to the extent that even an Angel without much need for culinary satisfaction found it tasty.

"You killed yourself, releasing the soul from your shell... and as your mind dispersed, you released the inner constraints, letting everything you originally restrained come out."

Raphael analyzed, using his terrifying wisdom as an outsider, dissecting Yila’s Death Trigger: "That mental imagery replaced reality, covering all original rules. This should be the authority of gods... this is the Divine Country."

In response, Yila said nothing, merely sipping some noodle soup.

"It’s like you’re dreaming, and when you wake up, everything will return to your body. I think I will follow you back in... I have already lost, lost to the burden you bear."

Raphael said this, looking at Yila, who had eaten all the noodles, "You are by no means the embodiment of chaos or an ally of the Destruction of the World. In this aspect... I acknowledge you, though you do not need the approval of a defeated person."

"..."

"To recreate the prosperity of this civilization, it is obviously a noble dream..."

Raphael said this, pausing as he also took a bite of noodles. With the red and green neon lights flashing outside, he continued, "But, there is one thing I hope you can understand."

"..."

"..."

A brief silence fell between them... it seemed both understood that the other knew what was about to be said.

"Between civilizations and worlds, there is no superior or inferior, no one is a substitute for another... if you hold onto such thoughts..."

Raphael said this calmly, supplementing as Yila sighed softly—

"Though the truth might be hard for you to accept, in the end... you will only be disappointed."
