Chapter 1899: Journey To The Braun Family

The group stayed in the woods a while longer before heading back to Kyle’s Family Manor, the only reason they stayed that long was because they were waiting for Grey’s arrival, now that he was there, Kyle had to report back to his Family about the completion of his task.

Kyle could not leave with them, he had some tasks that needed his presence in his Family. He was a little sad he could not attend Klaus’s celebration, but he did not forget to give him the best gift he could prepare in the short time.

….

A few kilometers away from the City Kyle’s Family Manor presided.

Grey, Klaus, Reynolds, and Alice stood side by side as they stared at the journey ahead of them. The last time they traveled together, they invaded the Gnome World, a dangerous expedition that they managed to successfully come back alive from while dealing a massive blow to the Gnomes. They thought the Gnomes would delay their plans of invading after returning to such a disaster in their Capital City, but to their surprise, it did not stop them in any way.

“Since you’re getting married, does that mean she’ll go with us to the Azure Continent?” Grey asked as they started their journey to Luthera’s Family Manor. This was not his first journey there, nor the second one. The first time he heard about her from Klaus was when he wanted to stop her from getting married to a young man from a Family stronger than her own.

“Yeah, I want her to see where I grew up. She has always wanted to see it.” Klaus nodded firmly.

“Alright.” Grey nodded, he only wanted to confirm if she would be following them since their stay in the Azure Continent would be dangerous.

“Oh yeah, my Teacher is there, so there’s a chance we might meet the Principal.” Grey added, even after so long, he still referred to Klaus’s father as ‘Principal’.

Klaus’s smile slowly faded away at the thought of his father, the last time he saw his father, he was seriously injured.

“I wonder if Instructor Blake would be there.” Reynolds thought out loud. Both Instructor Blake and Delia stayed with the Principal, so he was a little curious how they were doing.

“We’ll know when we get there, for now, let’s focus on making sure we get Klaus to his wife-to-be in one piece.” Grey nudged Klaus softly.

“What do you mean in one piece?” Klaus asked in an annoyed tone.

“Knowing you, there should be a few people who would want to kill you on the way there.” Reynolds chipped in.

“Bullshit! I no longer have any enemies.” Klaus declared sincerely.

“On the way to Kyle’s place, we were attacked by a group of mercenaries who claimed you stole something from them two years ago.” Alice commented.

“I told you they confused me for someone else, I’ve never stolen anything in my life.” Klaus refused to agree that he was the one the mercenaries were after.

“Klaus, they called your full name.” Reynolds said with a dark expression.

“Am I the only Klaus Ealdian in the world?” Klaus retorted.

“He does have a point.” Grey agreed with Klaus, and just as Klaus was about to move closer to Grey thinking he was supporting him, Grey added, “But I’m also positive they were looking for you.”

Klaus paused midway, his eyes twitching as he realized they were all against him, taking a deep breath, he said, “I didn’t steal anything from them. We only happened to be going after the same thing, and they were too slow.”

“Oh really, then why did they say you took it from their carriage?” Alice pushed on.

“The carriage did not belong to them, and it was left in the middle of nowhere.” Klaus explained, refusing to allow those mercenaries tanish his good name.

“Besides, I helped them out in the end. If not for me, they would have ended up dead. Not just that, I also gave them something too.” Klaus added, standing on the same ground, he did not steal anything.

The group continued talking as they walked on.

Every single one of them enjoying the company of each other as they headed to the Braun Family.

A few days later, they were within a few kilometers of the City the Braun Family was located.

In the sky, Grey and his friends’ figures could be seen moving at breakneck speed. Klaus was the last one in the group even though he was the one with the second highest cultivation. It could not be helped though, both Alice and Reynolds had the lightning element which meant that they were naturally faster than he was. He did not even want to add Grey to the fray; after all, he had the lightning, wind, light, and the overpowered space elements.

Grey paused mid-air and turned to look in a particular direction. Seeing him, the others paused as well, they knew the only thing that could make Grey stop in this manner.

“Is there a camp nearby?” Reynolds asked. In the past few days, they had already wiped out seven camps. Although none of the camps had Sovereigns, they did not hold back, wiping them all out. Grey went as far as searching for the portal, making sure he sealed them.

“Yeah, not too far from here.” Grey nodded, looking at Klaus he asked, “We are already close to our destination, should I deal with it while you go on ahead?”

Klaus thought about Grey’s suggestion for a few breaths before shaking his head, “Let’s go together. There’s no difference between arriving now or a few minutes later.”

“If you say so.” Grey turned in the direction of the place where the camp he sensed was located and rushed in that direction, with the others following behind him.

As they got closer, they arrived at an open field, the scene before them infuriating them all. Corpses were littered all over the ground, and they could still hear sounds of battle ahead.

“We should hurry.”
