Chapter 1895: I’m Back

Some days later.

Grey’s figure could be seen speeding away from the Magical Beasts’ Forest. After dealing with Elder Pondwyn, Sir Astarot brought him back to the Dragon’s Mountain, keeping him around a few days longer. Apparently, he sensed the spike in Grey’s blood essence and wanted to investigate. When he found out that it was after refining the blood essence of Jakob Vaergahl, he could not help but be amazed at how Jakob was able to get his blood essence to become that pure. It was almost impossible to differentiate him by his blood essence from a true Dragon, which was shocking.

According to what Grey learnt from Sir Astarot during the short time he spent with him, only older generation Dragons have a better blood essence than Grey, which should be impossible. Of course, there was no way for Sir Astarot to understand how Jakob Vaergahl was able to make his blood essence that strong. Knowing he could not keep Grey here, especially given the current situation of the Aurora Continent, he finally agreed to allow Grey leave.

A day before he left, Grey broke through to the Eighth stage of the Sovereign Plane. He was already on the verge of becoming an Eighth stage Sovereign, and if he wasn’t hunted during his last days in the secret realm, he would have been able to make it into the Eighth stage before leaving. Now that he was in the Eighth stage, he was more confident in his abilities.

He still had to visit the Vaergahl Family, but he opted to go to the Dawson Manor first to ensure the safety of his family. The Gnomes have managed to evade the Inner Court of the Magical Beasts’ Forest, which proved that they have snuck deep into human territories.

Grey could be said to be one of the fastest people in the Aurora Continent given his capabilities, and he made short work of the distance between the Magical Beasts’ Forest and the Dawson Manor. The location of the Forest he came out from made his journey shorter than it should have been.

….

Dawson Family Territory.

It took a few days for Grey to get to the Sassoon Family Territory, and during these few days, he had come across a few places that are left in ruins due to the fight with the Gnomes and Necromancers. He felt rage at the thought of the Gnomes wantonly killing humans. On the way, he passed two camps of Gnomes, and he wiped out both camps, leaving no one except for the captives alive. He questioned the captives about what has been happening over the past year he was away, and hearing that a lot of Cities have fallen to the Gnomes enraged him, but he knew that there was no way to stop that.

The Necromancers working with the Gnomes made things easier for them. Realizing that the real reason why they were being killed was the betrayal of their fellow humans, he could not help but feel spiteful at the selfishness of humans. From what he knew, the reason most people become Necromancers is because they no longer see a way forward in their cultivation and are stuck. After the first generation of Necromancers, most of the new Necromancers are either children of the first few generations of Necromancers, or people who did not see any hope in further improving their skills. Naturally having the darkness element is a prerequisite to becoming a Necromancer, which is one of the reasons most Darkness Elementalist are considered suspicious since they are the only ones who can become Necromancers.

Some of those born into Necromancer Families or Factions that do not have the darkness element are in some cases left in the dark about the Faction or Family’s ties to Necromancers.

Entering the territory of the Dawson Family, the first thing Grey noticed was that there were no signs of any Necromancers or Gnomes’ camp around, which was a good thing. He also noticed fewer ruins, which gave him hope that nothing serious happened in the Dawson Manor.

….

Grey stood in front of the Dawson Manor with a plain expression on his face. He has been here a couple of times, but he has never really felt like this place was his home. Yes, his parents and even Cory were here, but he did not have any sense of attachment to this place.

During his stay in the secret realm, his hair grew out longer than it usually was, but his facial features were still just as charming and unforgettable as ever, making it impossible for the guards not to recognize him.

His arrival was quickly spread across the entire Manor. He did not have any close ties with the others in the Family, except for his Grandfather who cared for him a lot.

At Grey’s parents house.

Grey noticed his mother waiting for him at the door, with a relieved smile on her face, looking at the courtyard, there was Cory and Eisendrache who had grown massively over the past year he left them. Cory was no longer the little girl he brought out from the secret world and is slowly growing into a young lady. While the little Dragon he watched hatch from its egg was also growing rapidly. At the moment, Eisendrache could rival a First stage Venerable, which was shocking given how young he was. Taking into account that his mother sacrificed what was left of her strength to hasten his growth, he sighed, marveled at the love of a parent.

“Grey.” Martha called out softly, looking at her son properly to ensure that he was safe and was not missing any body parts.

Grey smiled when he saw the worry in his mother’s eyes and felt a sense of belonging once again, “I’m back.”

“Big brother.” Cory ran towards Grey, followed closely by her companion, Eisendrache.

Grey hugged her while patting the head of Eisendrache as they walked towards the direction of the house.
