Chapter 147: Chapter 147 Really, It Doesn’t Hurt at All!
The car shook with the impact.
Ji Weitian stopped her complaints and leaned forward with concern, asking, "Assistant Song, is your head okay?"
"It’s fine, nothing’s wrong at all," the assistant zoomed back into the driver’s seat, wishing he could pretend he was invisible.
He hadn’t heard or seen anything just now.
The assistant hastily buckled up and turned around carefully to ask Qin Nanyu, "Boss, where are we going now?"
"Take another round, wait for my call."
Having said that, Qin Nanyu stretched out his hand to reopen the car door and got out, leaning on the doorframe with one hand, bending over to look at Ji Weitian in the car.
"It’s not that your waist is hurting more, come on, I’ll take you back for another check."
Qin Nanyu’s expression was somewhat stiff when he said this.
He didn’t have much experience holding girls and wasn’t sure if he was doing it right. All he knew was that she screamed in pain, and he instinctively wanted to take her back for another check-up, worried that he might have aggravated her injury.
Who knew Ji Weitian, upon hearing his words, immediately scooted to the corner of the opposite car door, shaking her head like a rattle-drum.
"No, no need, I’m not hurting anymore, really, not at all!"
One hospital visit was enough; another one, and she feared her waist might be fine but her heart couldn’t take it.
"Afraid to acknowledge sickness, huh?" Qin Nanyu looked down at her panicked expression, his eyes carrying a hint of warning.
As if to remind her, not to forget what the doctor had just said.
A small ailment ignored can still leave aftereffects.
"Anyway, I’m not going, I’ve already been checked, and I got my prescription. If I go again, the doctor will probably just remind me to be careful and not strain my waist injury. But with you dragging me around again, even if I didn’t want to strain it, I would," she argued with a survivor’s articulation.
Facing Qin Nanyu’s contemplative look, she sat down obediently, looking up at him with eager eyes.
Yet in her heart, she complained, wondering how she had never noticed Qin Nanyu’s fondness for police stations and now hospitals.
Seeking police for issues, insisting on hospitals when sick... His upright principles completely refreshed Ji Weitian’s impression of him.
Behind the broomstar, she added a new nickname for him: National Dad.
Such constant worry!
"Boss, we can’t park here, if we don’t move, we’ll get penalized," the assistant gently reminded.
Qin Nanyu’s pupils narrowed slightly, his gaze sweeping over Ji Weitian’s pale little face. Besides resistance, there was deep fear in her eyes.
She sat seemingly calm in the car, yet her right hand hadn’t stopped clutching the car door tightly, her knuckles turning somewhat white with the force.
She was afraid of hospitals.
Qin Nanyu’s eyes flickered, and he settled back into the car, instructing the assistant to drive.
As the car moved away, Ji Weitian looked back multiple times, making sure they were far enough away that they wouldn’t turn back. Only then did her tense body finally relax, slumping into the seatback.
She reached out to rub her injured waist.
Just as she moved, she thought of something and stopped.
Turning her head, she found Qin Nanyu indeed watching her. Her mouth twisted awkwardly, guiltily explaining, "It’s not pain, just a bit sore from sitting too long."
"Why are you so afraid of hospitals?" Qin Nanyu tilted his head slightly, his tone cool, seemingly asking casually.
Ji Weitian’s first instinct was to deny it, but upon meeting his knowing look, she choked up, deflating like a punctured balloon.
"It’s not that I’m scared, just... I don’t like the place."
