Chapter 207: Chapter 207: What Do You Think You Are? 7

Chloe Grant abruptly woke up.

Why did she think of him?

Chloe Grant shook her head, repeating firmly, "Mom, I’ve made up my mind!"

Her mother took a moment before responding, "I’ll discuss it with your father and call you back in a few days. Take this time to think it over yourself."

"Okay, Mom."

After hanging up, Chloe Grant placed the phone aside.

She thought she would feel relieved, but instead found her mind weighed down heavily.

It felt like something was pressing on her chest, making it hard to breathe, oppressing her.

"Honk—"

A car horn sounded from downstairs,

and Chloe Grant glanced down casually, not paying much attention, intending to look away...

Is that...?

Chloe Grant quickly lowered her head, looking downstairs.

The streetlights and car headlights were enough to make out the familiar car below and... the familiar person.

Lily Grant stood in front of the car, Lucas Morgan leaned over, embracing her, their faces close together, seemingly whispering sweet nothings.

The whole scene resembled a typical couple’s reluctant goodbye.

Chloe Grant watched, feeling her chest hurt badly, yet unable to tear her gaze away.

Like a masochist, she stared at their entwined forms, kissing passionately, finally parting reluctantly.

If Lily Grant hadn’t told her those things back then, Chloe Grant would never have realized that Lily wasn’t sincere with Lucas.

Because every time, she acted like she admired him, like she was so fond of him.

So...

In this world, as long as your acting is good, even your eyes can deceive.

As the light dimmed slightly, Chloe Grant vaguely realized that Lucas Morgan had already driven away.

She suddenly laughed.

Thinking about the incident with Abigail Parker at the party; she assumed that the two of them were pretty much over. Who would’ve expected... they grew even closer.

Chloe Grant spaced out again for a while, until the sound of someone pushing the door open brought her back to her senses.

Turning her head, she saw Lily Grant strolling in confidently, shutting the door behind her.

"Has no one ever told you that before entering a room, you should knock?" Chloe Grant coldly spoke up.

Lily Grant walked over to her.

Her right hand was in a cast, and she used her left hand to support herself on the table, glancing out the window...

"Oh, from this angle, you could’ve seen the scene between me and Lucas just now." She said deliberately, turning to smile at Chloe Grant, "Seeing Lucas and me still so in love, does it make your heart ache?"

"You didn’t expect, by bringing Abigail Parker over to dig up my dirt, that Lucas Morgan and I should’ve broken up?"

Lily Grant shook her head, looking helpless, "But sorry, Lucas Morgan’s feelings for me are deeper than anything else."

"If I squat there, cry a little more pitifully, he can’t bear it anymore."

Lily Grant laughed smugly.

Last night, she indeed thought she was doomed.

Unexpectedly, the painting that Lucas Morgan gifted was a fake, and Abigail Parker continuously exposed her old scandals from two years ago, adding fuel to the fire.

Since Lady Morgan was present, she couldn’t argue back, only feel wronged, the whole essence of her words being: I was young and naive, deceived by others, already repentant, why can’t you let it go.

However, in the end, although Abigail Parker’s mother tried to mediate, saying it was all in the past.

Lady Morgan’s face remained grim, ordering her to be sent to the hospital, even giving her a check.

"Mr. Morgan and I are going on a holiday soon, we might not have time for you, recover well at home."

Even though Lady Morgan didn’t say much about the matter, Lily Grant knew that all the goodwill she’d garnered by saving Lady Morgan in an accidental car accident had completely vanished!

At that moment, Lily Grant made a smart decision...
