Accidentally Reincarnated in Cultivation World
Chapter 53: Current Status

Chapter 53: Current Status

After dodging Lingluo’s attacks a few more times — each one increasingly aimed at his dignity — a temporary ceasefire was finally called.

Both sides quieted down, though glares were exchanged like veteran warriors signing a peace treaty they didn’t believe in.

The rest of the group finished collecting their wolf corpses, storing them into their space rings with a sigh of relief. Then they gathered again, forming a loose circle to discuss their next move.

"Should we go deeper into the forest?" Mo Lin suggested, sword resting lazily on his shoulder.

"Shut up, son of Mo," Yu Zhen replied.

Yu Bo nodded in agreement, wiping the sweat from his brow. "I really don’t have the energy to fight other beasts now. My arms feel like noodles."

The one to truly surprise them all was Yu Hao. With his muscular physique and unshakable presence, no one expected what came next.

"I think I’m gonna vomit," he said, his face pale.

The group reacted instantly — everyone took a full step back as if he’d just admitted to having a deadly virus.

"Nope, not today," said Lin Fan, holding his nose dramatically.

"How about we eat something real?" Yu Xuan offered, eyeing the group’s condition.

There were murmurs of agreement, and before anyone could respond, Yu Xuan added, "Just wait a few minutes," and vanished on the spot.

"What speed!" Lin Fan gasped, his eyes shining.

He clenched his fists and set his resolve. "I will definitely run like that one day... and then I’ll surpass him."

This is the classic Lin Fan: hardworking + overly ambitious protagonist.

His name may have sounded generic, but his spirit certainly wasn’t.

Within a few minutes, Yu Xuan returned, holding few hammer-horned rabbits by their legs.

He dropped them on the ground with a grin. "Now, who wants to do the honors?"

Naturally, it was time for another round of rock-paper-scissors.

And the unlucky soul this time?

"Mo Lin loses!!!" someone shouted.

Mo Lin groaned dramatically. "Why me? I’m the cook, the scout, the meat shield—"

"You’re son of Mo" Yu Bo said flatly.

While Mo Lin got to work preparing the meat with an exaggerated scowl, the others set up a small fire.

Yu Xuan sat to the side and made a mental note: Buy seasonings later. Rabbit meat is too bland without spice. Picky eater problems.

As the aroma of roasted rabbit filled the air, their moods lightened. They talked about random things — food, cultivation theories, funny rumors about sect elders.

Time slipped by.

Evening descended, casting a golden glow over the trees.

Eventually, full and somewhat refreshed, the group got to their feet, brushing off crumbs and ash.

They began their walk back to their quarters, tired but satisfied.

The day had started with food, dodged orientation, chaos, and wolf fur flying — but it ended with laughter, roasted rabbit, and the comfortable silence that came only from shared hardship.

They were, after all, disciples of the Heaven Immortal Sect now.

Yu Xuan now sat on his bed, deep in thought, reflecting on the day and considering what he needed to do next.

He didn’t have a concrete plan — not really. Most days, he just lived as things came. Sometimes, it was nice to let life unfold naturally.

Still, he wasn’t someone who’d let every day pass meaninglessly.

Before going to sleep, he called out mentally, "Status."

A sleek, golden-black screen shimmered into existence before his eyes.

He exhaled slowly.

Sure, the rabbit-hunting trip had been chaotic, but he hadn’t gone just for meat. There was a small ulterior motive, even if he hadn’t admitted it to the others.

With a mental command, he navigated to the Quest tab.

A notification greeted him:

==================

[Normal Quest] (Completed)(Repeatable)

You’ve stepped into a realm of endless wonder — where powerful beasts lurk in shadows and reclusive masters may walk disguised among normal people, due to certain hidden desire they might even be beggars.

The waters here run deep, while your cultivation remains shallow. Begin your journey as an explorer and uncover the secrets that lie hidden beneath the surface. Maybe you may stumble upon something that can change fate of many.

Objective: Explore the new realm

Reward: 1 SP (Shop Points)

==================

So the system had actually counted his random forest outing as "exploration." He didn’t mind, but—

"Only one SP?" he muttered with a deadpan expression.

The very first quest he’d received from the system had rewarded him with a whopping 100 SP — which he used to buy his first art: [Magic Swordsmanship of the Avalon Imperial Family]. At the time, he didn’t know its true value.

Now, with how little he was earning...

"Inflation hit me too, huh," he sighed.

Still, 1 SP was 1 SP, and the quest was repeatable so he didn’t find any problem.

He navigated to the System Shop tab.

==================

[System Shop] (Balance: 1 SP)

Skills [10 Available]

Cultivation Techniques [10 Available]

Martial Techniques [10 Available]

Magic Arts [10 Available]

Artifacts [10 Available]

==================

He wasn’t sure what logic the system used to decide availability or pricing, but he did know what he wanted to check.

"Skills," he thought.

He already had a cultivation technique and martial technique — though he hadn’t named it yet and he had a powerful magic art too.

As for artifacts, his parents had given him several, which he barely touched.

So he entered the Skills section, eager to see what he could afford — or at least window-shop.

A list of names began to scroll before his eyes.
