Accidentally Reincarnated in Cultivation World -
Chapter 48: Forest
Chapter 48: Forest
After Yang Ye departed, the crowd slowly dispersed. Many disciples exchanged parting words and went their separate ways, eager to begin their new lives within the Heaven Immortal Sect.
Yu Xuan and his group remained together, casually discussing what to do next.
"So... should we head into a nearby forest and hunt a monster for dinner?" Lin Fan suggested, his voice unusually lively.
The others blinked in surprise, then Yu Xueqing smirked. "You’re surprisingly useful at times."
Everyone nodded in agreement.
Lin Fan’s expression twisted into something between pride and pain — equal parts flattered and offended.
Yu Xuan glanced at his golden medallion, activating its map function with a thought. "There’s a forest not far from here. We could grab some weapons and go for a short expedition."
"You get extra features?" Lingluo asked with a slight pout.
Yu Xuan nodded. "Yeah, my medallion shows a more detailed map. We should be able to navigate without getting lost."
The others exchanged looks of envy.
Without further delay, they returned to their quarters to collect weapons. Surprisingly, each room came with a small stand in one corner, holding basic armaments — a simple sword, a saber, and a spear. Nothing ornate or enhanced, just sturdy and practical.
After gathering their gear, the group regrouped outside.
Mo Lin squinted at the bright sky and wiped his forehead. "It’s seriously hot."
Yu Bo looked up, shielding his eyes. "I still wonder how they manage such massive formations here. When we arrived in the bubble, all we saw was a floating continent... but now there’s a full sun in the sky."
Yu Zhen’s eyes sparkled. "Isn’t that exactly why this place is so special? Just being able to cultivate here is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity."
Everyone nodded in agreement, a quiet sense of gratitude washing over them.
With spirits lifted and blades in hand, the group turned toward the forest — their first real adventure as entry disciples of the Heaven Immortal Sect was about to begin.

After walking for nearly an hour, Yu Xuan and his group finally arrived at the edge of a lush, expansive forest.
Along the way, they’d passed a few disciples and stopped to ask them about the area.
The responses were vague.
"The beasts in this forest are a little tricky," one disciple had said, rubbing the back of his neck. "But their meat’s pretty tender. Better than the Nourishment Hall’s stuff, that’s for sure."
When asked for more details, the man simply smiled awkwardly — and Yu Xuan noticed his head was slightly swollen.
’Noted’ he thought not pointing towards his head.
Still, despite the ominous hint, they continued forward.
As they reached the forest’s perimeter, they noticed a few more disciples lingering nearby — chatting, gathering herbs, or scouting the area.
It made them hesitate for a moment. Maybe this would turn out to be a bland experience after all?
That’s when Lingluo stepped forward and said with a grin, "Let’s go inside the forest already."
Everyone nodded. They were confident in their strength — and besides, a little exploration never hurt anyone.
Probably.
As they stepped into the forest, the air changed. The trees seemed to hum softly, almost as if the forest itself had a soul.
Shafts of light filtered through the dense canopy above, and the deeper they went, the more alive it all felt.
Along the way, they came across some strange and occasionally hilarious — plants.
There was a round, bright red mushroom that released a burst of glowing embers when poked.
Mo Lin, of course, poked several in a row and ended up singing some of his hair.
Then came a striking blue vine that released a misty, shimmering gas when disturbed — cool to the touch but oddly reactive.
Yu Bo got too close, inhaled a whiff, and immediately began sneezing uncontrollably for a full minute, his nose running like a broken spirit spring. He looked like Bo-chan from a certain Japanese anime for kids.
Next, they found a bizarre plant that grew its roots above the ground and stems underneath, making it look like it was planted upside down.
A nearby tree shifted its branches slowly whenever no one was looking directly at it — suspicious enough to make them all circle around it at least twice before moving on.
And, perhaps most normal of all, there was a flower with teeth. Real, chomping teeth. It bit Lin Fan’s sleeve when he got too close.
He muttered something about suing the forest to court.
Eventually, they stumbled upon their first creature.
To Yu Xuan’s surprise, it was a horned rabbit — but not the kind he expected.
Instead of a sharp horn, this one had a massive, flat-tipped one that resembled a blacksmith’s hammer.
It stood in the clearing, staring at them with tiny, glowing red eyes full of menace.
Yu Xuan had deep thoughts about it. ’Is this a beginner zone for a MMORPG game?’
Before anyone could comment, Mo Lin — Immortal bless his brave and reckless soul — charged forward with his sword drawn.
"Got it!" he yelled.
His treasured sword gleamed, the one that housed the spirit of a nagging grandma. And, right on cue, a voice echoed in his head.
’You idiot. Rushing in without knowing your opponent’s capabilities is a great way to lose your teeth.’
Mo Lin rolled his eyes. "Yeah, yeah," he muttered aloud, ignoring her completely.
The rabbit didn’t move. Not an inch.
Until Mo Lin stepped into its range.
In the blink of an eye, the horned rabbit vanished.
Then — BONK!
A loud, crisp sound echoed through the clearing as the rabbit reappeared in front of Mo Lin and slammed its hammer-horn into his forehead.
"AHHH—!"
Mo Lin staggered backward, clutching his head. "You damn rabbit!!"
A visible lump had already formed on his forehead. He tapped it gently and winced.
The others couldn’t hold it in anymore.
They burst into laughter.
Even the usually composed Lin Fan cracked a smile. Lingluo was full-on wheezing, and Yu Xueqing was trying to cover her mouth, failing miserably.
Yu Xuan shook his head with a grin.
"Classic Mo Lin."
