Accidentally Reincarnated in Cultivation World -
Chapter 46: Peaks [2]
Chapter 46: Peaks [2]
The group had just finished their breakfast, the atmosphere still light from earlier jokes.
That is, until Mo Lin leaned forward, wiping his mouth.
"So, Young Master... which peak did you get?" he asked, eyes gleaming with curiosity.
Yu Xuan looked around at their eager, expectant faces and sighed, slowly setting down his cup.
Then, in his usual calm voice, he said, "Well... I didn’t get assigned to any peak."
The response was instant.
"What?"
"What?!"
A wave of surprise hit the table as everyone’s expressions turned to confusion.
Discussions broke out immediately.
"Do you think there was a fault with his medallion?" Mo Lin asked, scratching his head.
"Stop acting stupid, Mo Lin," Lin Fan retorted, rolling his eyes. "If there was a fault, it wouldn’t just be on his alone."
Yu Lingluo narrowed her eyes and leaned closer to Yu Xuan. "Wait... don’t tell me you’re actually unlucky?"
Yu Xuan simply facepalmed.
With a sigh, he brought out something that immediately changed the mood.
A shimmering golden medallion.
The table fell silent.
"Oooooh. Shiny." Mo Lin was the first to break it, eyes wide.
Yu Xuan held it up, letting it glint in the morning light. "I got this after I crossed the 108th step during the soul trial," he explained casually. "So, I’m guessing that’s why my peak assignment was... a little different."
Everyone leaned in to stare at the medallion as if it might reveal secrets just by being looked at.
Then Yu Xuan glanced at Lingluo with a slight smirk. "Still think I’m unlucky?"
Lingluo huffed and turned her head away with a pout. "Hmph. Still doesn’t mean you’re special."
Yu Xuan chuckled. "Of course, of course."
Earlier that morning, after noticing that his basic medallion hadn’t displayed any peak recommendation, Yu Xuan had experimented with the golden one.
To his surprise, it worked — and more than expected.
When he willed his intent into it, and then knowledge flooded his mind.
This golden medallion wasn’t just symbolic — it granted direct access to become an Inner Disciple of any peak of his choosing.
Additionally, it came with a built-in map of the sect’s domain, detailed peak descriptions, and even a sort of internal message board system.
Though, messaging an elder apparently still required their approval.
As Yu Xuan quietly browsed through the information in his mind, he reflected on the peak assignments of the others.
Four people from the Yu Clan — Lin Fan, Mo Lin, Yu Hao, and Yu Xueqing — had been recommended to:
Martial Heaven Peak — a haven for cultivators focused on Weapon Dao. Known for its many minor peaks and direct, no-nonsense martial culture.
Yu Bo, true to his name and with his affinity for formations, was assigned to:
Myriad Path Peak — the scholarly hub. A place for those studying formations, talismans, alchemy, and artifact forging.
Yu Zhen had been sent to:
Order Heaven Peak — known for its strict code and righteous cultivators who lived by law, justice, and discipline.
Ming Tianmei, unsurprisingly, had been placed in:
Celestial Heaven Peak — a mysterious and ethereal peak focused on fate, karma, destiny, and divination.
And finally, his sister, Yu Lingluo, had been assigned to:
Chaos Heaven Peak — a peak infamous for its eccentric geniuses and unpredictable paths. Though their numbers were few, they were among the most powerful and most feared.
That last one concerned Yu Xuan a little.
He knew how chaotic that peak’s reputation was. Still... if anyone could thrive there, it was probably his sister.
After taking it all in, Yu Xuan exhaled.
He had the luxury to choose.
But that also meant...
He was still jobless.
He tapped the medallion against the table.
"So... where should I go?" he muttered to himself.
And for once, even Yu Xuan wasn’t sure.
He had the rare privilege to choose any peak — a golden medallion that could open any door. But that made the decision even harder.
Still, recalling his own talents, he decided to seek help from the one thing that never failed him.
Mentally, he commanded: "System, evaluate my talent."
A familiar black-and-gold screen shimmered into view:
==================
[Talent Evaluation]
Cultivation Talent: SSS+
Martial Talent: SSS
Dao Comprehension: SS+
Affinity: SSS (All Elements), L– (Darkness), L– (Light), EX (Soul)
==================
Yu Xuan narrowed his eyes.
After his awakening, he had reviewed this once before — and it had changed again.
His overall talent had increased. He now had an SSS-rank affinity for all elements, something that even Heaven-grade geniuses would envy.
His Darkness and Light affinities were now labeled as L–, and he still had no clue what that meant. Some kind of latent class? Legendary? Limitless? Lunatic?
The system refused to elaborate.
But his Soul Affinity still sat at EX-rank, untouched. That was... reassuring. EX was above all other grades — he knew that much.
And there was a peak that specialized in the soul — the Soul Mirror Peak, a place said to house soul cultivators, psychic, illusionists.
Still, he thought about another peak — the Elemental Heaven Peak.
A peak known for cultivating the extremes of elemental power.
Now, with his SSS-rated affinity for all elements, perhaps it was the right choice.
As he already had a cultivation technique given to him by the system.
And his martial technique, from his experience during his time training, all the mortal martial techniques he had learned, eventually got merged into the one given by the system.
So he thought, the case with his cultivation technique will be similar.
He too, had the ambition of merging all the cultivation techniques and martial techniques present till date into a Peerless technique and becoming the number one expert under heavens.
But he knew this dream was too farfetched and nearly impossible with his weak self now.
So, he nodded to himself and looked up.
"I think I’ll choose Elemental Heaven Peak," he said calmly.
The others glanced at him, a mix of curiosity and acceptance in their eyes.
No one questioned it.
After all, it was Yu Xuan — their official Young Master.
And everyone could already feel it:
Whichever peak he joined... something big was bound to happen.
