Chapter 272: Chapter 0269: The Greatly Enlightened Sect Leader

At this moment.

In the vicinity of Kunyu Mountain, three figures stood not far away. Two of them were utterly stunned by the scene before them, as if they couldn’t believe their eyes.

"See? What did I tell you? It really happened, didn’t it? I told you, they didn’t show up because they didn’t want trouble. Instead, they waited for us to leave and then caused destruction."

"Luckily, I’m clever enough to see through their scheming, or else they really might have succeeded."

"Sect Leader, having confidence is good, but blind confidence isn’t. If I hadn’t been cautious, all our efforts would have been in vain."

Lin Fan was exceedingly proud of himself, as though guessing correctly had instantly elevated his status and identity. That kind of satisfaction was impossible to comprehend without experiencing it firsthand.

"Kid, stop babbling. Stay right here and don’t come over." Bai Qiu saw the situation and didn’t bother to argue much with Lin Fan; the ability to suppress the words written with the Taiwu Taoist Pen was proof enough of the tremendous power behind the giant arm’s main form.

"Foul creature, prepare to die!"

Bai Qiu let out a booming shout as torrents of mana surged forth. Wielding the Taiwu Taoist Pen, he slashed toward the enormous scale-covered arm in a single stroke. A beam of light, powerful enough to cleave through heaven and earth, roared to life and ruthlessly severed the arm.

Bang!

The arm slammed into the ground, instantly dissolving into thick demonic fog. Yet soon enough, the severed arm regenerated anew.

"Master Bai, allow me to assist you!" Vice Sect Leader Ren roared, unleashing his Divine Skills to crush the opponent.

With the Taiwu Taoist Pen in hand, Master Bai’s power surged exponentially. Sweeping the pen through the air, he left behind strokes that intertwined into the Immortal Dao Law, which he then unleashed in a ruthless barrage.

The surrounding demonic fog was eradicated under the assault, while the colossal arm struggled to resist the power of the Taiwu Taoist Pen, retreating step by step before withdrawing back into the abyss.

Lin Fan marveled at the might of the Taiwu Taoist Pen.

As expected, it was immensely powerful.

But it couldn’t possibly compare to his gourd or Supreme God Talisman.

After all, his treasures were Immortal Treasures.

They simply hadn’t been fully refined yet, so their true power couldn’t be unleashed. If he could manage to refine them successfully, the resulting power would be utterly terrifying.

"Sect Leader, in my opinion, even though we’ve driven it back for now, as soon as we leave, that thing will definitely come out again." Lin Fan walked up to the Sect Leader and offered his opinion, though his gaze remained fixated on the Taiwu Taoist Pen in the Sect Leader’s hand. Oh, how he longed to touch it, but the Sect Leader simply wouldn’t allow it, plunging him into a deep existential crisis.

The trust between people was truly nonexistent.

"Didn’t I tell you to stay put? Why did you run over here? What if you encountered danger?" the Sect Leader scolded. He had been able to wield such immense power only because of the Taiwu Taoist Pen. Without it, facing that arm would have been much more challenging.

Lin Fan replied, "Don’t worry, Sect Leader, I have ways to protect myself."

"Master Bai, what should we do now?" Vice Sect Leader Ren asked, clearly sensing the gravity of the situation.

Bai Qiu thought for a moment before responding, "We go straight in and seal the abyss. Otherwise, even if I set a seal around its edges, an arm of that strength would still be able to break through it."

"In a moment, I’ll use the Taiwu Taoist Pen to clear a path, cutting through the demonic fog directly to the abyss’ entrance."

Vice Sect Leader Ren expressed his gratitude, "Master Bai, we are deeply indebted to you."

Soon enough.

Bai Qiu held the Taiwu Taoist Pen in hand and carved out a path. The surrounding demonic fog couldn’t coalesce in its presence.

Whoosh!

Whoosh!

The two charged directly into Kunyu Mountain, with Lin Fan tailing closely behind. He wasn’t deluded enough to think he could contribute much at the abyss, but he was eager to slay some demons along the way.

Once inside Kunyu Mountain, Lin Fan activated the Mixed Element Golden Gourd. Golden River Water surged forth, pouring down across the landscape. The demons had no defense against it, their bodies devastated and promptly shattered.

Even though the drop rate was pitifully low, it wouldn’t deter his resolve to grow stronger.

"Ah, this kid..."

Bai Qiu shook his head. He couldn’t understand why this kid was so eager to target the demons. Even if he killed a thousand of them, what good would that do? It brought no tangible benefit whatsoever.

Yet Lin Fan was killing with unrestrained zeal and paid no heed to its perceived futility.

Over the abyss.

Bai Qiu focused intently on the scene below. The demonic fog churned violently, faint glimpses of something strange emerging from within the abyss.

"Suppress!"

With a sweep of the Taiwu Taoist Pen, he deployed Immortal Techniques, their power surpassing anything prior. But at that moment, an ancient aura erupted from within the abyss. The scale-covered arm reappeared, throwing a mighty punch to shatter the character for "Suppress."

Bai Qiu’s expression grew grim.

He could feel the sheer terror of the power he was up against.

Who could this be? How could such strength exist? He scoured his memory but couldn’t recall any demon of this caliber.

Without even revealing its true form, this arm alone could contend with him wielding the Taiwu Taoist Pen. The power was simply overwhelming.

Roar!

A deafening roar echoed from the abyss.

Then, a black light surged forth, its power shaking the heavens and earth. The light seemed to pierce through time and space, arriving before Bai Qiu in the blink of an eye.

"Break!"

With a powerful stroke of the pen, golden radiance erupted. The Immortal Dao Law transformed into a bolt of lightning, descending fiercely to meet the black light. The lightning was massive, encompassing the abyss and colliding forcefully with the dark energy.

Boom!

The earth quaked and the mountains trembled as devastating aftershocks radiated outward, obliterating demonized trees in a wave of destruction.

"Master Bai, what is this entity? How can it be so terrifying?" Vice Sect Leader Ren asked in alarm.

He was well aware of the Taiwu Taoist Pen’s fearsome reputation as a weapon of immense power, honed through centuries of cultivation.

"I don’t know, but it’s not any demon we are familiar with. None of the demons alive today could possess this level of strength," Bai Qiu replied cautiously.

Could this be an ancient demon? What on earth was lurking in Kunyu Mountain?

Lin Fan sensed something amiss. Even with the Taiwu Taoist Pen, the Sect Leader hadn’t secured a decisive victory. This treasure just couldn’t compare to his Immortal Treasures. If it had been one of his treasures, the fight would have been over already.

At this moment.

Bai Qiu stopped holding back. Forming a spell with his fingers, he activated the true power of the Taiwu Taoist Pen—Taiwu Immortal Sect’s very destiny itself.

An artifact capable of anchoring the sect’s destiny could over time accumulate vast reserves of power. However, using even a bit of it would deplete the stored energy, requiring an indeterminate amount of time to recover.

"Huh?"

Lin Fan noticed that Bai Qiu’s aura had shifted subtly. The Taiwu Taoist Pen now exuded a white mist, within which danced faintly discernible images of golden dragons.

"What is this?"

He couldn’t quite discern its essence, but he could sense its extraordinary nature.

Bai Qiu took a deep breath. The Taiwu Taoist Pen spun between his fingers before he narrowed his eyes, then opened them abruptly, his gaze radiating brilliance like ten thousand suns.

"Enough. No matter what you are, today I will use the Taiwu Taoist Pen’s destiny to seal you here for eternity."

With that, he made a final stroke. In that instant, the winds and clouds churned as an overwhelming force erupted from the pen, surging into the abyss.

Lin Fan stepped back.

From the pen, he felt a truly unstoppable and earth-shattering power.

"Impressive," Lin Fan muttered to himself.

The Sect Leader had hidden this ability well.

"Seal!"

"Seal!"

The Sect Leader wrote shining golden characters that materialized at the pen’s tip, cascading into the abyss.

Buzz!

The abyss quaked, and Kunyu Mountain itself shivered.

The demonic fog blanketing the mountain seemed to be drawn by an immense force, spiraling into the abyss with a roar.

Soon after.

The surrounding fog dissipated entirely, leaving a shimmering barrier at the abyss’ entrance.

"Phew!"

Bai Qiu exhaled deeply, visibly fatigued from channeling the Taiwu Taoist Pen’s destiny. Even with his True Immortal cultivation, the effort had taken its toll.

The Taiwu Taoist Pen’s radiance dimmed slightly, its reserves significantly drained. Replenishing its energy to anchor Taiwu Immortal Sect’s destiny anew would take hundreds of years.

"It’s done. I believe the abyss has been sealed, at least for several centuries. For now, whatever is inside won’t be able to come out," Bai Qiu reported.

He couldn’t guarantee how long the seal would hold. As time eroded its strength, one day it might fail, and the entity within could break free once again.

"Master Bai, your great kindness will never be forgotten by Kunxu Palace," Vice Sect Leader Ren said, deeply moved. He understood the magnitude of Bai Qiu’s sacrifice in using the sect’s treasure to suppress the seal. Even allied sects rarely made such concessions.

Bai Qiu replied coolly, "No need for formalities, Brother Ren. I had no idea what lay here at first, but now I see it is no trivial matter. If left unsealed, it would become a calamity for all the sects."

Lin Fan found himself reevaluating Bai Qiu; he hadn’t expected the Sect Leader to display such altruism.

It was a side of the Sect Leader he had never seen before.

Nonetheless, Lin Fan resumed what he did best. With the demonic fog gone, the demons were suddenly exposed and momentarily stunned before scattering in panic.

Lin Fan wasn’t about to let them escape.

He got to work, slaughtering them all.

After all, these demons were excellent sources of mana.

The strong ones might be out of reach for now.

But surely he could start with these small fry.

He’d teach them the might of their "Daddy Lin" and make good use of their feeble bodies to aid his cultivation efforts.
