Chapter 236: THEIR MORNING TALK

Chapter 236: THEIR MORNING TALK

Julian’s phone rang persistently, piercing the peaceful morning atmosphere and sleep of the couple who were enjoying one another warmth.

Astrid, tired of the sound, rolled into Julian’s arms, "Hey... Julian picked up the phone." Julian’s eyes fluttered open as he smiled, answering the call.

"It should be something important." were the words he said on the phone as he picked up.

Astrid’s eyes also flickered open as hands began tracing over his sculpted abs, counting it with the tip of her finger and a silly smile laved on her face.

"Good morning, boss. It’s Ryan," the voice on the other end replied. "I sent the picture of the man who appeared in front of the mansion last night." Julian nodded his head as he pulled Astrid closer to him.

"Any more?"

"Yes boss, we have one more man with him. He is one of the press that had crossed his limit, he got to know who took Josh with us." Astrid heard this and smiled she knew her husband would take care of this and besides whatever happened to Josh was what he deserved.

Julian’s expression turned serious, his eyes narrowing. "Threaten him, and let him go freely, but if he messes up, I will be the one to respond to him personally."

"Yes, sir. I will take care of it." Ryan acknowledged Julian’s instructions.

"Also, I wanted to remind you of your schedule for today. You have a meeting with the marketing team at 9:00 AM to discuss the new campaign. Then, you have a conference call with the investors at 11:00 AM to discuss the quarterly reports. After that, you have a lunch meeting with a potential new client at 1:00 PM. At 3:00 PM, you’ll be reviewing the company’s financial reports. And finally, at 5:00 PM, you’re invited to Maren’s show."

Astrid’s eyes sparkled with interest as she listened to Julian’s schedule. He is busy and wouldn’t stay with her for the day so it would be best if she goes to Maren.

She began kissing his chest, her lips tracing a gentle path across his skin.

"Maren show? I don’t think I will be going to that, my wife needs me." Astrid’s eyes widened, and she recalled that she hadn’t told Julian about her being among the models used in the event.

"Alright boss,"

Julian hung up the phone, and Astrid climbed on top of Julain, her half-naked body pressed against his as she listened to his breathing.

"Good morning, Love" Julian greeted her with a gentle pulling her closer as he kissed her lips.

"Good morning," Astrid replied, with a sneaky smile.

"I have a busy day ahead," Julian said, his eyes scanning her face. "But I would rather stay here with you."

Astrid smiled, her eyes sparkling. "I have something to tell you. The show is today, and I am supposed to be with Maren all day."

Julian’s expression turned serious, his eyes narrowing. "A show? Why are you that invested in it." Astrid let out a smile and that was when he understood.

"I don’t want you to go to the show, Astrid. I don’t like the idea of you showing your body to other men."

The little smile on Astrid’s face disappeared a pout appeared on her face.

"Why are you being so possessive, Julian? You know I have to do this. Maren brought a sketch to life, and the dress is looking beautiful. It would be wrong for me not to go to the show. It’s a show that Maren has planned for months."

"No, not now... there is no way I am allowing it," he answered quickly not ready to agree.

Astrid recalls when Maren first asked her to do commercials for her and Julian refused immediately.

"But... I am one of the most important models she needs, I have done commercials before and also.." Julian cut her off instantly.

"This is different, Astrid it is a fashion show, and you will be modeling in front of hundreds of people."

Astrid scoffed as she stood up, her small nightgown clinging to her body.

Julian’s eyes admired her figure, from the bed his gaze lingering on her curves. "I have to go, Julian. I will be fine. Maren will be there, and Miles will be watching over me and you got a couple of guards also."

Julian’s eyes narrowed, his jaw clenched. "I don’t want you going, Astrid. But I know you will do what you want anyway. Just be careful, okay? I will need to input that back into my schedule."

Astrid nodded, her eyes sparkling with delight. "I will, Julian. I promise."

As Astrid moved to the mirror, brushing her clinging hair with her hands Julian stood up, his shorts clinging to his hips.

"Hey, I have to model today and I already have a series of hickeys on my neck." Astrid continued leaning closer to the mirror to check them.

Julian moved over to her, his arm encircling her small body. He stared at their reflection in the mirror, his eyes lingering on the love bites on her neck.

"It’s a territory I created... I am marking you as mine." Julian announced having a thrump look.

Astrid grinned at this as she grasped the necklace Julain had given to her, she had always wished for this part from Julain seeing him maintaining to close possessive bond with her alone made her pleased. This time around there was no one she could proudly call him hers and she could get mad at him for being too close to Mattie.

"What do you want for breakfast today?"Julian asked pressing his lips against her neck as he began placing gentle kisses on her neck, his hands moving around her body.

"Would you be angry if I do anything out of bounds?" Astrid whispered hoping she got the response she wished for.

Julian’s hands stilled, his eyes locking onto hers. "There’s nothing you can do that would make me angry, Astrid. I love you, and I trust you. Just be yourself, and I will be happy."

Astrid turned to Julian, her eyes searching for reassurance. "What if it’s related to your ex?" she murmured "Would you be mad?"

Julian’s expression froze, his eyes locking onto hers. He didn’t respond, and the silence was so loud.

Astrid took a deep breath, her heart racing with anxiety. She knew she was getting too paranoid, but she couldn’t shake off the feeling that Julian would always waver when it came to Mattie.

She moved into his arms, embracing him tightly. "I know I am being too unreasonable, Julian," she said, her voice muffled against his chest. "But I know you have been together for a long time, and I am still having this weary heart that you would always waver."

Julian’s arms wrapped around her while still quiet until she broke the silence again. "Forget that I asked,"

Then Julian pulled away from the embrace, his high hands on her arms as he leaned closer to her, his eyes boring into hers.

"Astrid, I have explained to you before that you shouldn’t bring her into our conversations," he said, in the calmest voice he could muster.

"I have told you that I don’t love her anymore. Even though we have been together for years my relationship with her is so much different from the bond we shared now. Can’t you see that?"

Astrid looked up at him, her eyes searching for reassurance. "What if I make her go through embarrassment at tonight’s show?" she asked, her voice laced with concern.

Julian smiled, "Whatever you want, I will accept it along with you," he answered.

"I don’t care about whatever you do. You’re mine, Astrid, and I will always stand by you."

Astrid’s face lit up with a smile, and she tiptoed to kiss his lips. "Thank you, Julian," she said, her voice filled with gratitude. "I feel so much better now."

As she turned to head into the bathroom, Julian caught her arm, spinning her back around. "Hey, where do you think you’re going?" he asked, his eyes sparkling with mischief.

Astrid laughed, her eyes dancing with amusement. "I was going to take a bath," she said, her voice teasing. "Maybe it will be more fun if we bathed together."

Julian’s eyes lit up with excitement, and he scooped her off the ground, spinning her around in a circle.

"That would be so much better." he let out as they walked into the bathroom, but the sound of a phone buzzing stopped their infectious giggle.

"Go have your bath, I will be back in soon," he announced and Astrid walked inside.

"Hey dude!" Julian picked up his call seeing his caller ID showed Miles.

"Julain.." his breathing was a bit hard as he called his friend’s name, "What is the matter?" Julian asked already alert hearing the weakness in his friend’s voice

"You know about Mattie not being my mum’s daughter?" Julian shut his lip knowing he should have told his reined but he wanted to get the facts straight he couldn’t make him go through pain.

"Miles... I wanted to be sure I couldn’t just tell you that news, and..." but smiles scoffed making him silent.

"Well... that’s fine, but the crazy thing now is that I just found out she isn’t related to any of my parents, and Tonia is also not my mum."
