Chapter 198: HIS DAUGHTER

Julian’s eyes widened at the whole story, it was just like it had occurred. Mattie couldn’t explain all these than to lie to him she owns the necklace and he gave it to her.

His face was pale with shock. "I...I..." he stuttered, his words trailing off as he stared at Astrid, lost.

Astrid eyes turned icy, her voice trembling."You should have known it was me," she said, her words laced with hurt. "Our voices were different, but you didn’t even bother to check."

Julian shook his head, frustration etched on his face. "I was suffering from night blindness," he argued, but Astrid cut him off.

"You were still blind to the fact that I had changed," she said, her voice bitter. "I was still chubby then, you should have noticed it."

Astrid’s hands clenched into fists, her eyes darken in anger as She turned to leave, but Julian grabbed her hands, holding her back.

"I am sorry," he mumbled, his voice laced with frustration. "I never cared about your appearance, only who you were as a person, so I didn’t notice it."

Astrid’s eyes narrowed, her gaze piercing. "Really?" she asked, her voice dripping with skepticism.

Julian’s hands trembled as he pulled her back. "My heart has always wanted you, right from that moment in Paris," he said, his voice filled with emotion. "The moment let Mattie leave the country, my heart has always wavered, but my guilt over leaving Maren was stronger."

Astrid’s expression softened, her eyes filled with a deep sadness. "You loved her?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.

Julian looked down, his eyes avoiding hers. "I guess I never loved her," he admitted. "I only thought I did because I felt guilty for leaving her."

Astrid’s eyes narrowed, "You felt guilty because of the necklace," she said, her voice filled with realization.

"Then you owed me your life, not her," she stated.

Julian’s eyes met hers, filled with a deep regret. "I guess I was gullible, just like you said," he admitted.

Astrid’s hands slipped out of his grasp, and she took a step back. "I’ve always known who you were," she said, her voice filled with a deep sadness. "I followed you, watching you from afar, hoping one day you would recognize me but you never did." she let out sadly.

Julian’s eyes widened, shock written across his face. "You knew me but never told me once about this?" he asked, his voice barely above a whisper.

Astrid nodded, her eyes filled with tears. "I knew, and I watched as you kissed her in front of me," she said, her voice trembling. "You made me go through so much pain, embarrassment..."

Astrid’s hands clenched into fists, Julian’s eyes met hers, filled with deep regret, and he took a step forward, his hands reaching out to her.

"You need to do a lot before gaining my heart again Julian," she mumbled under her breath

"Yeah... I agree... I will do anything you want, I don’t have to feel guilty anymore. I am so sorry for not recognizing you on time Astrid." he accepted immediately.

Astrid swore she was about to fall for this, she had always had a crush on him.

That day when she looked up to see who her husband was going to be she had loved him. She thought it was an easy fate that had come her way but it was a fate that made her go through hell.

"That explained why you were coming from her in the first place." She suddenly announced, recalling if the necklace came from Mattie, he must have gone to her. Julian shut his eyes at the realization.

"You felt guilty right?" She asked again and just then she heard the door opening.

She glanced over to the door confused until the door opened and Naren came in.

"Hey girly! I am sleeping with you tonight." Maren’s voice echoed from the living room door along with Miles only for them to halt their step when they saw Julian standing there.

"You are here with her?" She asked, and Julian shrugged his shoulders.

"I don’t think I should have another place to go aside from here," Miles smirked at this.

"Guess you are beginning to think straight with my cousin, but you need to take care of the fact that my little sis would be going crazy about this."

Mile let out and then moved toward the dining room as he dropped the plastic bag he held which contained food that they had gotten in their way here.

Then Maren pulled Astrid with her toward her room. The moment the door shut, Maren pulled Astrid backward, "What is going on? Miles told me the wedding was still going on. Are you going to just let that happen?"

"Well, technically yes... especially now that the table turned," she said displaying the necklace, Maren’s eyes focused on this as she squinted her gaze.

"This is for Mattie, is there some truth in it?" Mattie asked and Astrid shook her head, "It’s originally Mine but she stole it now I have it back."

"Wow... that is a shocking discovery because I heard last time that their relationship began from this necklace." Astrid fist tightened recalling this.

"The relationship then was supposed to be mine from the onset and not with Mattie," she announced, "What do you mean?

"This is mine, Julian gave this to me but she stole it from me, it means I never stole her man but she did from the beginning." Astrid broke into a peal of laughter.

"I was never the thief Maren, she was the one who resisted fate, but I still can’t evade it." Astrid asserted and Maren could only stare at her friend, still confused.

Meanwhile, in a dark room, you can see a man smoking, sitting on a king-sized chair as he gazes at a series of pictures pasted on the wall.

"Wow... she is growing to become an adult," the man let out and the other figure behind him nodded his head in agreement.

"Tonight, she was supposed to be scared but... it doesn’t look like she was, she only drove past me giving me a stinking look." The figure explained and the other man broke into laughter.

He stood up looking at the wall, his picture of Mattie, Marena, and Astrid.

"They all grow into beautiful ladies, it’s about time they all know the truth of their birth don’t you think?" He asked, glancing toward the picture.

"Boss.. but what if none of them are your daughters?" He asked and then a smack landed on his face making him have a face of regret.

"I am sorry for being stupid," he quickly apologized, his hands on his cheek easing the stinging pain.

"That is good of you, the next time you assume that would be the day you lose your life." He announced and the figure bows.

"One by one... I am getting their DNA test... and I will find out who my biological daughter is and make her mine again while the rest pay for it"
