Accidental Marriage With Mr Billioniare
Chapter 149: I WILL MAKE HER MINE

Chapter 149: I WILL MAKE HER MINE

Julian sat behind his massive mahogany desk, his eyes fixed on the collection of framed photographs scattered across the polished desk surface.

His gaze lingered on one particular picture, a candid shot of his wife, taken during her time in Valtania.

He remembered the day he received that picture, sent to him by one of his trusted men who had been keeping an eye on her.

Two weeks after she had left, Julian had been frustrated and down himself with worry.

He had gone to her grandfather, pleading with him to send her location to him but Donald refused saying he had hurt her enough.

Donald had refused, telling Julian to stay with Mattie instead. He wasn’t ready to forgive Julian easily.

Julian’s jaw clenched at the memory. He had not argued, knowing that pushing the issue would only lead to more problems.

Instead, he had used his connections to find out where she was and had traveled to Valtania under the guise of business.

He is a Logan, he gets whatever he wants at the snap of a finger, he had only gone to ask for permission because he wanted to show courtesy but since he refused he went to find her himself.

He would travel down there to check on her and keep a safe distance, watching her from afar as she navigated her new life.

As he gazed at the picture, Julian’s mind wandered back to the changes he had observed in her over the months.

The way she carried herself with a newfound confidence, just that she no longer smiled like she did before.

He was still lost in thought when a commotion erupted outside his office door.

"Ma’am... boss is working overtime and wouldn’t be able to talk to you!" He heard his assistant’s voice from the door and was curious.

His eyes narrowed as he listened to the raised voices. Suddenly, the door burst open, and Mattie forced her way inside.

"Julian, we need to talk," Mattie said, her voice shrill with urgency, he checked his time to see it was almost noon.

Julian’s expression remained calm, but his eyes flashed with annoyance.

"What is it, Mattie? Why come here at this time?" he asked, his voice low and even.

Mattie’s eyes darted around the room, her gaze lingering on the photographs scattered across Julian’s desk.

"What are you doing with these pictures?" Mattie asked in shock, she had never seen this not like their relationship had been that close but seeing this amount of pictures is insane.

"I don’t think that should be any of your concern Mattie," he cut her off trying to arrange back the pictures now.

"Julian, who the fuck are you? You are not the same Julian, I know in the past." he looked up at her giving her a weird look.

"Are you saying that because I am trying to follow my heart now like you think I am so different from the one you knew?" Julian implored.

Mattie rubbed her forehead, frustration etched on her face as she began to pace around.

"Yes, you are not like this," Mattie spat, her voice broken.

"You only care about me, you only care about Mattie Adams, but now all you can think about is Astrid."

Mattie’s face contorted in anguish, her voice cracking as she spoke, her hands covering her disappointed expression.

"Don’t you have human feelings?" she proceeded.

"I lost my memory, still my heart beats for you. I have been with you for ages, and you just care about fucking loving someone, who ruined our wedding ceremony! It’s just ridiculous."

Julian’s eyes narrowed, and he was finally done arranging the pictures.

"Mattie, I..." he began, but Mattie cut him off.

"Oh please! Don’t start trying to make it feel like I am the bad one!"

"Mattie, I got the part with me falling in love, but I can’t control my heart," he explained.

Mattie’s face darkened, at this. "Julian, are you crazy?" she exclaimed.

"We are supposed to be called couples! We are supposed to be planning on having a child, but she keeps fucking ruining our relationship."

Mattie’s chest heaved as she struggled to catch her breath. She looked exhausted and drained.

Julian’s expression softened slightly, his eyes filled with a deep sadness as he placed the pictures in the drawer.

"Mattie..." he began, but Mattie cut him off again.

"You know how much I love you! You know how much I chased you? I never fell in love with someone else other than you, but all you care only about is her!" Julian rested his head on the chair with his eyes shut.

"Why don’t you come back to the mansion you spent a fortune building? You sleep in the hotels, and you go back to your parent’s home to sleep, just because you don’t want to have a conversation with me."

Julian could feel her pain and he understood exactly what she was feeling now.

"Mattie, you have been doing fine all this while," Julian said, his voice soft. "Why are you suddenly getting mad?"

A sardonic chuckle escaped her lips, "Oh, you don’t expect me to be mad? I just found out how much you are spending on getting a fucking estate because her villa is located there. You think I won’t find out?" Julian was shocked at this because the only person he told was his friend.

"Did Stephan tell you?" he asked.

"It doesn’t matter how I find out, I also know about you traveling out of the country every single month to check on her, and act like you don’t know where she lives."

Julian’s jaw clenched, "Enough, Mattie. It’s my fault. My heart shouldn’t have faltered for her, but I had no choice."

Mattie’s laughter was bitter, as she bit her lip. "Julian, are you telling me you have no choice but to follow your stupid heart,!"

Julian’s eyes dropped, his voice barely above a whisper. "I know you didn’t lose your memory, Mattie. I tried my best. I don’t want you to feel like I played you or anything. But I have done everything to get this feeling out of my heart, it’s not working." he revealed leaving her astounded.

"You knew I was doing that to get you and you played along?" he shifted his chair back and moved closer to him.

"Yeah, I did, that’s how much I tried to love you again," he replied.

"So that’s why you are doing this now that she’s back, right?" Julian’s expression remained neutral, as he nodded his head.

"Yes, Mattie I am going to make her fully mine, I would make her know my real feelings now, it’s time for our little crazy feelings of fooling people to stop." Mattie smacked his face and he didn’t budge, still having that calm expression as he laid his head on the chair.

"You aren’t going to grab my hands, you won’t stop me! You wouldn’t get mad because I slapped your face?" she asked shocked and now filled with regret, but his action made her speechless as a smile broke out on his face.

"I am used to getting slapped on my face by my wife, she does this when she is mad. Guess it will make you calm if you do it too."

Mattie’s heart broke into pieces as she realized she had finally lost him forever.

Tears streamed down her face as she spoke, her voice barely above a whisper.

"Wow, now I get it. You are trying to break up with me because she’s back, and looking more beautiful than me, right?"

Julian shook his head at this, "I have always loved her, Mattie. Even before... you knew this."

"Love?" she wiped her tears, "You finally chose one person between us," she muttered sadly.

"Yeah, because it took my stupid heart one year to realize." he proclaimed with a bitter smile.

"I am fucking tired of lying to myself Mattie, I want to be with her," he added.

"I am so sorry and please, you don’t have to blame Astrid for any fucking thing that I did, It should be me and my fault." he clarified.

"Sorry? Please?" she repeated.

Just then, Julian’s phone buzzed, in the tense silence. He picked it up, his eyes scanning the screen before answering, surprised to see the caller was his wife.

"Hello?" The voice on the other end was unfamiliar, and Julian’s expression darkened.

"Who is this?" he demanded, his voice already tinged with fury.

"Sir...we could only reach out to you because you are on the emergency call list," the voice explained.

"Your wife and her friend are...they are so drunk and can’t get home themselves."

Julian’s eyes widened in alarm, and he leaped to his feet. "Oh my goodness, I will be right there," he announced, already heading for the door.

Mattie’s stunned at this and called him back. "What the fuck? Are you not going to take me home?"

Julian didn’t even turn around, his voice cold. "It’s the middle of the night you decided to come to my office, Mattie. Go home the way you came yourself." with this he stormed off.
