Accidental Marriage With Mr Billioniare
Chapter 122: THE HURTFUL SCENE

Chapter 122: THE HURTFUL SCENE

Stephan paced back and forth across his living room, his footsteps echoing off the walls.

His mind reeled with the shocking news that heard.

"Astrid is Mattie’s cousin, oh my goodness I can’t believe this," he whispered and the door pushed open a resident doctor walked inside.

"Dr. You have an appointment in the next 15 minutes," he nodded his head and gestured for him to leave.

"Are you feeling okay?" the resident asked and he nodded his head, "I am perfectly fine you can leave," he answered and watched as his door closed.

He stopped abruptly, his eyes widening in frustration.

"Unbelievable!" Stephan exclaimed, raking his hands through his hair.

Resuming his pacing, Stephan’s agitation grew. How could fate play such a twisted trick?

Stephan’s phone lay on his table, beckoning him. He snatched it up and dialed Mattie’s number, "I should tell her,"

His fingers drummed impatiently on the armrest. As Mattie answered, her sultry voice poured through the speaker.

"Hey, sexy miss me," Mattie purred.

Stephan’s grip on the phone tightened.

"Mattie, we need to talk," he said firmly, his tone brooking no argument.

"Ooh, miss my body already?" Mattie teased, her voice dripping with seduction. Stephan’s eyes rolled heavenward.

"Mattie, focus!" he interrupted, his voice sharp. If it was a normal day he would fall for her sexy talk.

"What’s up?" Mattie asked, her tone shifting to curiosity seeing how serious he was.

"Astrid," Stephan said, his voice measured. "She’s your cousin."

The line went silent for a beat. "Hello, Mattie? Are you still there?" he asked, looking at his phone to see if she hung up.

"Matt.." and she shut him up immediately.

"Are you crazy? No like are you kidding me?" she asked after some seconds, her voice changing to that of rage.

"See, I am not supposed to be telling you this," Setphan tried to explain further but she interrupted him again.

"No! She can’t be my family!" she yelled and Stephan shut his eyes in frustration hoping she wasn’t going to lose it.

"Are you crazy? What the fuck did you hear that from?" Mattie’s voice shrinks through the phone.

"Mattie, I am serious. Astrid mum is your mom’s sister, which means Astrid is your cousin. You need to abort any harmful plans you have against her, or you will regret it in the future," Stephan warned.

Mattie’s laughter sent a chill down Stephan’s spine. "Stephan, I don’t care what she tells me. She’s never my family, she will never be my cousin. We are not related," Mattie spat, her voice dripping with venom.

The line went dead as Mattie hung up.

Stephan’s stress lingered. He rubbed his temples, in frustration. "Was I mistaken? Did I hear wrong?" he wondered. He called her phone several times but she didn’t pick up.

"Fuck!" he groaned, slamming his phone onto the table.

Meanwhile, Mattie rose from her wheelchair, pacing around the room. She had planned this, she never got injured, and she fooled everyone into believing that she got into an accident.

Only Steohan knew the truth and had played along with other doctors who attended to her. She never got into an accident but had plotted it.

"My cousin? Astrid? Never!" she muttered, her eyes blazing with plans.

She stopped pacing, her gaze locking onto her and Julian’s photo still on the nightstand.

"I need to act quickly. Get her out of my life, and foremost," she thought.

"If she comes back, if Grandpa finds out...we won’t be rich anymore." Mattie’s eyes narrowed.

"I thought she was dead," she hissed, her hands clenched into fists.

For a moment, she considered calling her mother but decided against it.

"No, I will handle this myself, the easy way."

Mattie’s smile sent shivers down her spine. Her hands trembling, she called back Stephan.

"Hello?" he replied to the phone a bit relieved she called back.

But her next word made Stephan’s eyes widen in horror as Mattie’s words echoed through the phone.

"Kill her," Mattie ordered, her voice cold and detached.

Stephan’s grip on the phone tightened. "Hey, I can’t be a murderer. Killing is becoming too much. I am getting terrified of you," Stephan protested.

Mattie’s laughter sent chills down Stephan’s spine. "I don’t fucking care, Stephen. I will do everything to get rid of Astrid’s mum. Her coming back will cause trouble in our family."

Stephan’s voice trembled.

"But, Mattie—"

"No!" Mattie cut him off. "If you won’t do it, I will find someone else."

Just then, Mattie heard footsteps approaching. She swiftly returned to her wheelchair, masking her panic.

"Do what I ask, on time. We have no more time to waste," Mattie spat before hanging up and tossing her phone onto the bed.

As Julian pushed open the door, Mattie’s expression transformed to that of distress now groaning and feigning pain.

"Hey, what’s wrong?" Julian asked, rushing toward her. Mattie’s voice cracked.

"It hurts, Julian." Julian’s concern deepened as he squatted beside her, placing the box he brought from Tonia’s home on the bed.

"What hurts?" he asked gently. Tears trickled down Mattie’s cheeks.

"You no longer care about me. It’s all about that fat pig now!"

Julian’s eyes narrowed, offended by Mattie’s bad words about Astrid.

"Hey, stop saying hurtful things. It’s wrong," Julian cautioned her, now picking up the box.

Mattie’s gaze locked onto the box, curiosity sparking. "Don’t scare me like that again. I thought you were wounded," Julian said, his voice softening.

Mattie’s interest in the box grew, "What is that?" she asked, her voice laced with suspicion.

Julian hesitated, hiding the box behind his back. "Nothing you should be concerned about," he replied anxiously.

Mattie’s eyes narrowed, not trusting his words.

This depends on a life and he wouldn’t want to betray the trust Astrid’s mum had built in him.

"Are you hiding things from me now Julian?" she asked already getting furious,

"Hey, I am not hiding them from you, it’s something important that I can’t share with you,"

"Not even Astrid?" she asked, having that irritating face.

He scoffed at this, recalling she had only asked him to give it to Astrid when she died, "Yes, not even Astrid or my parents, it’s a secret.

He let out now going to his closet, "I can’t believe you don’t trust me,"

He sighed and looked back at her "You are the reason why Adam and Logan had a breakout, Mattie,"

He was a bit paranoid, "What?" she let out.

"You gave the blueprint of our work to our rival, and you expect me to trust you this time,"

Mattie’s eyes widened in shock, she never gave anyone any blueprint. The crazy part was she couldn’t even justify herself because she was pretending to lose her memory.

"What blueprint?"

"Never mind about it, we lost the deal and they took over so let it be," she wheeled her wheelchair over to Julian.

"Babe, don’t you trust me, it’s related to my family. Why would it be possible to do it?"

"My dad find out himself,"

"I can’t recall any memory but I promise I didn’t do it, I won’t do anything to hurt your family I am that crazy Julian,"

Julian sighed now, placing back his jacket in the closet, he had a meeting he needed to leave for.

"Whatever you say, Mattie," he stated, the box was still with him he refused to drop it.

"Julian please listen to me I would never..." Julian walked out of the room. She decided to do what could bring him back, wheeling him to the bed.

She placed both hands over her ear, as she screamed so loud struggling to the wheelchair.

Julian sprinted back in hearing her scream and was shocked to see her current position.

"Hey Mattie look at me, breathe, relax.." he kept whispering but she only burst into more crocodile tears.

"I hate this, I want to recall my memory, I don’t like you being mad at me I want to prove I didn’t do it," She cried out.

Julian’s anger crumbled as Mattie’s tears streamed down her face. He gently pulled out his handkerchief and dabbed at her cheeks, his touch sparking a flutter in his chest.

"Leave, you don’t trust me, I will explain it all to you when I recall my memory, or still..." Mattie’s voice trailed off as she looked up at him.

"Hit me with something. It works. I have watched that countless times," she whispered, with hope in her eyes.

Julian’s gaze locked onto hers, and a small smile crept onto his face.

"That’s movie magic, girl. You are in reality now. Wake up." Mattie’s eyes snapped back to his, and she whispered.

"Let’s kiss."

Julian’s eyebrows furrowed, it’s been a while since they kissed, and he weirdly didn’t want it with her anymore.

"Common, let’s kiss," Mattie urged, her voice husky.

Before Julian could protest, Mattie grasped his shoulders, pushing him to the bed.

Her wheelchair creaked as she maneuvered herself onto the bed, her body sliding atop his.

Julian’s hands instinctively wrapped around her waist, his mind racing with guilt.

"No, we shouldn’t..." he began, but Mattie’s lips silenced him.

Just as their kiss deepened, the door swung open. Miles, Maren, and Astrid froze in the doorway.

They had heard the commotion and decided to come to check out only to be met with this.

Astrid’s heart shattered, her eyes locked onto Julian and Mattie’s entwined figures. The pain she had been holding in threatened to consume her.

Watching them kissing this way was causing a pang in her heart. So she did the best thing she could do, which was walk out of the scene.
