Chapter 407: 189 Difficult Journey to Catch the Valkyrie_2

落风’s international politics now could only be tied to the Sherman Empire, without any disturbances.

"Kolev, do you mean to lure Valkyrie out of the Sherman Empire?"

"Exactly," Kolev replied, "this is actually the best method."

Lyu insisted on her opinion, "Using the influence of network public opinion and leveraging Valkyrie’s past casualties on the special forces to ignite their fury is also a plan with maneuvering space."

Yang Ming nodded slowly, saying, "These are actually follow-up plans; we can draft a primary execution plan and a backup plan to make different choices based on different situations. At this stage, we must first find that Ghost Ship."

Mimili suddenly asked, "Do Ancient God Life Forms have a special sensing ability when hunting bugs?"

Yang Ming said, "I only have a sense when they are quite close to the bugs."

"But Valkyrie is your higher life form, Uncle, she might have a longer sensing range."

Mimili licked her lips and whispered,

"If we can get a batch of bugs, could we lure her out?"

"Embed some Antimatter Bombs, high-efficiency Energy-Gathering Bombs, neutron star material bombs in the bugs... wouldn’t that solve everything once and for all?"

Yang Ming frowned slightly.

Mimili’s idea... was rather good.

"Wait a minute," Kolev frowned, "if we bring a swarm of bugs, isn’t that like poisoning the Sherman Empire? If caught with the evidence, it’s surely over!"

Lyu: "Why would we be caught with the evidence? We can utilize a large group of mechanical guardians."

Mimili: "Why would they get caught? It’s the New Federation poisoning Sherman, only they could breed bugs."

Yang Ming: ...

Good gracious, when a Mechanical Thought Body and a Star Widow team up, there’s really something reactive.

"This is the third plan," Yang Ming stated, "all three plans will be used as backup plans and will proceed simultaneously. I can get some bugs, hmm, my ex-girlfriend can supply some bug eggs; in fact, we also preserved a batch of eggs as experimental samples and can mobilize some."

Mimili and Kolev both had somewhat strange expressions.

Kolev, impulsive by nature, almost blurted out: Do you have an ex-girlfriend that looks like a Mother Worm?

But he wisely chose to remain silent.

...

Twelve Galaxy Days later.

A cargo ship registered in a New Federation allied nation quietly sailed into the Sherman Empire’s borders.

In these twelve days, all available ships of the Molly Miss Mining Group, along with Yang Ming’s East Wind and Feinan, searched all possible Star Domains where the Ghost Ship might appear.

Although they made some progress – their randomly placed detectors captured footage of the Ghost Ship passing by;

But the Ghost Ship’s activity area was utterly irregular and not confined to this Star Domain, leaving them helpless.

The longer the delay, the more likely the Molly Miss Mining Group’s unusual behavior would draw outside attention, especially since this group was remotely controlled by Lyu with tens of thousands of employees and crew members inside.

Yang Ming decided to push forward with Mimili’s third plan.

To fish out Valkyrie.

Hera’s lab provided some materials, and Yang Ming utilized a small portion of previously stored bugs, barely gathering three thousand bug eggs.

Without a Mother Worm, these eggs could not hatch.

– In fact, during the bug disaster era, many nations would use ordinary bug eggs as warning samples; when the eggs began to hatch, it signaled a Mother Worm was not far away.

Yang Ming covertly approached these bug eggs, feeling that familiar agitation in his heart.

After confirming the efficacy of this thing, Yang Ming swiftly moved away with Feinan.

Mimili, Kolev, and 026 had already transferred to East Wind, following far behind Yang Ming’s Feinan.

Upon boarding the second Refitted Ship, both Kolev and 026 exclaimed in amazement, one marveling at the ship’s formidable firepower, the other admiring the luxurious crew quarters on this Refitted Ship.

East Wind was Yang Ming’s trump card against Valkyrie.

The bug egg cargo ship slowly sailed towards the abandoned Resource Star where Valkyrie had previously appeared.

It had no registration number, wasn’t in any network, and had its positioning system disabled, skillfully evading the Sherman Empire’s internal patrol fleet’s detection range.

It spent most of its time in areas of gentle gravitational fields to ensure smooth ship transitions.

There was no response along the way.

The cargo ship entered the thin atmosphere of the Resource Star, circled it three times, and then gradually left.

It headed to the last known area of the blue Ghost Ship.

Yang Ming quietly followed behind this ship.

He activated all available shielding devices, and Feinan maintained complete silence throughout.

Lyu’s main brain was nearly maxed out, processing vast amounts of data every minute and second.

The first day of the fishing plan did not yield any results.

The following days were the same.

Kolev made a comparison; previously, they were searching for a needle in a haystack, now they were tying a strong magnet to the needle and continuing the search in a haystack.

The Sherman Empire’s territory was simply too vast.

The distances between neighboring Administrative Stars were measured in light-years.

And therefore, the pressure on Yang Ming increased.

The elusive Ghost Ship;

The possible risk of Valkyrie assimilating the cargo ship;

If he didn’t actively seek out Valkyrie and instead waited for Valkyrie to fully prepare and jump in front of him, then it would be all too late.

Yang Ming squinted his eyes, staring at the projection screen in front of him.

Alone on Feinan, he began calculating how much he could afford to pay to gain an advantage when facing Valkyrie.

The answer was most of his hoarded resources, aside from his life.

Lyu’s projection appeared beside him, speaking quickly, "Boss, there aren’t any anomalies, do you want to take a rest? Your rest time each day has been severely lacking recently, which might affect your state during the confrontation with Valkyrie."

"How could I possibly sleep?"

Yang Ming muttered, "Is it possible to add more stimulating hormones to the fortified serum?"

"There’s no time to change the formula now, boss."

"Then I’ll just doze off for a bit," Yang Ming yawned, "Lyu, if we still can’t find Valkyrie, perhaps we could proactively seek help from the Sherman Empire Special Forces, Captain Griss is quite a nice person."

Yang Ming hadn’t even finished his sentence when his nostrils began to hum with a snoring sound.

Lyu sighed softly, dimming the cabin lights, letting Yang Ming’s chair recline gently, and quietly stood by Yang Ming, the projection guarding its master.

...

"Uh-huh-huh-huh~"

Captain Griss, wearing his flamboyant beige tight pants, strutted around the Sherman Empire Special Forces garrison – Heavenly Fury Fortress.

This fortress held tremendous energy, constructed by hollowing out a natural satellite. Its primary function was to house the star-destroying cannon hidden within.

The natural satellite fortress served as a tier above the Dreadnought’s deterrence, stationed semi-permanently outside the Emperor Star Circle, only activated when the Sherman Empire suffered massive damages to eliminate all provocative enemies.

The Special Forces’ garrison occupied only a small section on the Fortress’s second layer;

Various Special Forces-related weapon laboratories, biochemical labs, and more, were housed in the outer regions.

Captain Griss had recently become quite popular at Heavenly Fury Fortress.

Invitations from beautiful female fighters were non-stop, waking up in different dormitories each day left him tired of this monotonous, physically exhaustive lifestyle.

He was a warrior, the most elite warrior of the Empire! – albeit not a transformed person.

His ambition was not only training but also to slay powerful foes! – preferably without risking everything.

In the dull routine of training and preparation, Griss had begun to miss his briefly allied comrades.

"Why hasn’t White been active lately?"

"Boss," a nearby team member chuckled, "you’ve mentioned the White Ghost several times daily recently."

Griss muttered, "Whenever he shows up, something interesting is bound to happen, keeping us from idling away at the base, wasting the generous salary from the Empire."

"Isn’t that a good thing?" the team member sighed, "Even though we enjoy a hefty reward, we are still the unit with the highest mortality rate in the entire military."

"That’s true," Griss patted the team member’s shoulder, "but you must always be ready to face death to truly cross the chasm of mortality, that’s what I constantly teach you."

The team member’s facial muscles twitched slightly.

Alright, the boss’s inspirational speech, bitter as it may be, must still be swallowed whole.

Suddenly, a reminder came over Griss’s shoulder: "Captain Griss, please proceed immediately to command conference room number three."

"Look," Griss’s eyes sparkled, "we’ve got action, gather everyone!"
