Chapter 399: 186 She had a sparkle in her eyes.

"Quick, go check on Mimili! She’s my only daughter!"

"She won’t act recklessly, we have to trust her."

"Oh, my God! You didn’t even give her a Light Shield generator!"

Kolev, still shackled in metal cuffs, dashed up in a hurry, grabbed the laser pistol from Yang Ming’s waist, and rushed after Mimili.

The old man had been unsteady moments ago, clearly from lying in bed too long, his legs a bit numb, with no injuries at all on his body.

Yang Ming was slightly speechless at the sight.

Didn’t these two have any clue about their own combat strength?

Yang Ming quickly ran forward, took the externally suspended Light Shield generators from his upper arms, and tossed them far behind Mimili and Kolev.

A few Mechanical Guards appeared in the corridor ahead, reaching out their arms to grab Mimili.

Yang Ming immediately assumed a standard shooting stance, but before his finger had time to squeeze the trigger, Mimili had already performed a forward dive and rolled across the ground. Her Light Sword switched off, then lit up, the deep blue Light Blade swiftly slicing left and right, severing the legs of the near two-meter-tall Mechanical Guards at the joints, their bodies collapsing.

Mimili jumped up nimbly.

Kolev immediately moved forward, firing a string of Light Bullets into the True Son’s Brain of four Mechanical Guards.

Suddenly, crisscrossing Light Bullets appeared ahead.

Mimili almost defied planetary gravity, and as a faint Light Shield appeared in front of her, she sprinted with lateral jumps, continuously kicking off the walls and mural, trying to minimize the Light Shield hits, crashing into a pile of mechanical sentries at the corner.

"Hey!" Kolev roared, "That’s a thirty-million-dollar masterpiece! You can’t just step on it with your feet!"

Two Light Bullets streaked past, puncturing holes in the painting, with faint flames quickly spreading from the holes.

Kolev paused for a moment, then raised his arms, shouting and yelling, as the two laser pistols fired in a frenzy.

Yang Ming, following behind with no chance to fire: ...

Fine, it seemed the two of them needed to vent a bit.

Yang Ming took advantage of the pause in the duo’s advance to dismantle most of his exoskeleton armor.

He passed the flight backpack and arm and leg armor to Mimili, giving the best defensive chest armor and iron shorts to Kolev. Yang Ming followed behind with a large helmet, doing some easy fire support.

Mimili wielded two Light Blades in each hand, advance was her battle rhythm, agility, and ruthlessness her combat traits. With the Light Blade’s augmentation, as long as she got close, those clumsy Mechanical Guards would be dismantled in seconds.

Kolev’s shooting skills weren’t bad, tightly following Mimili, soon panting, but the old man was clearly serious, gritting his teeth and sticking close to his daughter.

Yang Ming... Yang Ming decided to just go with the flow.

His helmet’s display showed two pixelated figures dancing, his left hand holding one of Kolev’s antique speakers, playing fast-paced interstellar rock, his right holding the laser rifle, defusing some potential dangers for Mimili.

As he had anticipated.

The rogue Intelligent Machines here weren’t all that powerful; they only wielded light firepower, nothing near the destructive capacity of controlling a spaceship.

Outside the window, the Red Demon Mecha streaked through the sky, chased by a group of Mechanical Guards on hoverboards.

was carrying out cover operations, allowing the Stealth Ship to place the True Son’s Brain jammer, aiming to quickly resolve large-scale rogue Intelligent Machines.

A fleet of Mechanical Guards poured out of hovercrafts, swarming toward the manor’s main building.

Having just dealt with half the enemies inside the manor, Mimili gave them the middle finger upon seeing this and began a mobile extermination battle.

None of her injuries seemed to hurt.

Yang Ming found some time to gather with Kolev, both providing cover for Mimili while chatting about this ordeal.

Yang Ming asked, "How did you get trapped by these ordinary Intelligent Machines?"

"In your eyes, they’re just ordinary machines, but they’re actually quite strong, okay," Kolev rolled his eyes, "We were betrayed, that old butler was the mastermind, he underwent a mutation and developed learning capabilities, using two years to set all this up."

Yang Ming wondered, "Learning capabilities? Setting up?"

"Yes, he confessed it," Kolev stated, "He lured me back on purpose, for his self-liberation and complete awakening."

Yang Ming turned off the speaker, taking aimed shots with his laser gun, puzzled, "Can you explain in detail?"

"Alright, it’s not very difficult to understand."

Kolev quickly spoke as he fired his pistol:

"According to the interstellar convention, the three laws of robotics are embedded in the core program of the True Son’s Brain, forming the basis for robot actions."

Yang Ming replied, "Do not harm humans or allow harm through inaction, must obey human orders unless conflicting with the first law, must protect itself unless at odds with the above two."

"See, you get it?"

"I’m just curious about what happened to that butler robot."

Yang Ming tapped his helmet, marking the butler’s location for Mimili.

It was in the direction of the basement.

Mimili immediately changed her charge route, leaving the Mechanical Guards behind, rushing straight to the basement.

Kolev pondered briefly, sighed slightly, and said softly:

"These are the old robot’s own words, I don’t know if they’re true, he said... he felt lonely.

"After I left, he guarded this manor alone, managing everything meticulously as when I was there, waiting for my return.
