Chapter 368: 174 Insect’s Reason
"Hey, hey! I’m not dead! Hahaha!"
crawled out from under the platform of the Particle Transmission Machine, sitting sprawled in a duck posture, gasping heavily.
Oh, right!
Miss Hera!
She quickly got up, rushed to the console, and looked up to see Lyu’s projected screen.
Hera was floating alone in space, the Feinan circled nearby, its secondary cannons firing continuously.
Below Hera, the six-meter-tall close combat Mecha, the Fierce Ghost, was supporting the protective shield, wielding the several-meter-long Light Blade, sweeping and cutting down the approaching insects.
Not a single adult insect could come within a hundred meters of Hera!
The boss naturally was in this Mecha.
first breathed a sigh of relief, but quickly became anxious again.
The boss was trapped in a fierce battle.
These insects were several times stronger than the Insect Swarm on Zubin Star!
That huge Light Blade only smoothly sliced through the insect’s body when it precisely hit the joints and abdomen of those golden insects.
At the edge of 026’s vision, golden Light Bullets flew toward the Fierce Ghost Mecha.
The batch of insects that the explosion of the transport ship had blocked was now coming to besiege.
The situation for the boss and Miss Hera was even more dangerous.
"The boss needs support," Lyu’s voice sounded beside her, "It’s your turn, 026, the Red Demon Mecha is fully loaded."
"I’m on it!"
turned and ran, her spine flashing with faint light.
Ahead, two Mechanical Guards appeared, holding out 026’s tactical helmet and combat suit.
grabbed the helmet and put it on, removing her ordinary clothing mid-run, smoothly completing the change, though it took a bit of effort to put on the combat suit.
She always had to take a deep breath to zip up the front.
Equipment ready!
The silvery-gray combat suit automatically contracted, fitting perfectly to her skin, exuding a metallic sheen under the lights.
The light film of the flight suit wrapped around her entire body, also providing cushioning and protection.
After passing through the molecular screening membrane at the safety door, 026 reached the open tail cabin.
The eight-meter-tall fire-support Mecha had already opened the cockpit in its chest!
gripped the railing and flipped horizontally, landing steadily on the Mecha’s shoulder, then sliding down into the cockpit designed specifically for her.
As soon as 026 sat in place, mechanical spine connectors the size of thumbtacks extended outward.
Her helmet lit up instantly, and complete Mecha data along with a 360-degree field of view appeared before her.
"Just like during training, no need to spare any ammunition."
Lyu’s virtual image appeared at the lower-left corner of 026’s vision.
She took a few deep breaths, then nodded slightly, gripping the control sticks with both hands, and stepped on the power pedals.
The Mecha’s immobilizer disengaged.
The eight-meter-tall, extremely bulky Mecha took large strides, charging over ten meters forward in a simulated gravity environment, then spread its arms and leaped into the deep space ahead.
Red Demon deployed!
Behind the helmet, 026’s small face was tense as she deftly adjusted the Mecha’s position and activated the firepower system.
Following Lyu’s prompts, 026 quickly locked onto the distant long-range fire insect targeting the Fierce Ghost Mecha.
026’s pupils moved back and forth, and red aiming dots appeared on the helmet, locking onto the joints and abdomen weak points of those insects.
The densely packed grid section on the Red Demon Mecha’s shoulder opened, and as 026 pressed the fire button, dozens of half-meter-long missiles shot out from the grid, spewing fierce flames!
Warhead first-level split!
Warhead second-level split!
Seven or eight seconds later, a curtain of explosive light solidified in the space ahead!
didn’t spare it more than a glance, simultaneously moving hands and feet as the Red Demon began laying down dense firepower toward the area where the Fierce Ghost was located.
Ion beams and laser weapons were activated simultaneously.
In close combat, it was somewhat difficult to load physical weapons into this Mecha, but with the Feinan’s remote energy supply, 026 could use the ion beams and laser weapons without restriction!
The Insect Swarm split and rushed toward the Red Demon Mecha.
026’s Red Demon quickly converged with Yang Ming’s Fierce Ghost, the laser cannon on its left arm firing a series of Light Bullets.
The shells of these insects were quite robust, with each needing three to four Light Bullets to be eliminated.
Fortunately, 026’s Mecha sacrificed agility for a rich reserve of weaponry.
Laser launchers appeared in the Red Demon Mecha’s palms, feet, knees, and elbows, while eight ’spider legs’ auxiliary arms unfolded from its back, each revealing barrels from its reverse joints.
A few seconds later, the Red Demon Mecha unleashed full firepower, in coordination with a barrage of rain-like bullets, and the secondary cannon fire of the Feinan realized localized suppression of the Insect Swarm!
performed a series of operations in the cockpit.
Lyu dealt a ton of damage!
"Well done, 026!"
Yang Ming’s voice sounded, and 026 couldn’t help but chuckle before quickly pressing her lips together and focusing on fire control.
With the firepower suppression taking effect, Yang Ming finally had a moment to spare.
The Fierce Ghost Mecha turned and advanced, securely cradling Hera with its left arm and charging straight for the Feinan’s tail cabin.
Hera gazed at the gigantic, cold Mecha before her and silently closed her eyes, as if she were feeling something.
The Insect Swarm rioted, swarming forward.
The Fierce Ghost and Red Demon fought and retreated, while the Feinan’s secondary cannons initiated self-destructive firing, its coolers and limiters nearly ceasing to function.
yanked the control sticks, the Red Demon Mecha turned, its two large metal feet adhering to the Feinan’s lower deck, and two supporting ’spider legs’ auxiliary arms countered antigravity. Dense launch ports appeared on its shoulders, arms, and thighs, unleashing a barrage of costly small missiles!
A dense cluster of explosions appeared around the Feinan!
Yang Ming, piloting the Fierce Ghost Mecha, rushed into the tail cabin, handing Hera to the Mechanical Guard that had been waiting for some time, which swiftly carried Hera toward the safety door.
