Chapter 515: Chapter 83 Urgent Rescue

"Yes, it’s Xia Yi the Unrivaled!"

The color scheme of that Equipment was all too familiar to Xiao Jie, who had secretly checked its attributes back when he fought alongside Xia Yi the Unrivaled against the World Association.

How did he become a Paperman on the stage?

Xiao Jie was incredibly shocked, wondering what principles were at work here. Sorcery? Evil Technique?

At this moment, the Paperman, seemingly Xia Yi the Unrivaled, had begun to panic.

"No more drinking, really, no more drinking. Miss, please just show me the way out," said the voice, supplied by someone backstage. Clearly, it wasn’t Xia Yi the Unrivaled’s, but Xiao Jie felt that Xia Yi the Unrivaled would probably be saying the exact same thing.

But the Paperman fairies began to babble their complaints.

"What nonsense are you talking about, brother? This paradisiacal realm, once left, cannot be returned to. Why not stay here with us and enjoy familial pleasures together?"

"Indeed, indeed, we sisters have been very lonely here, and we’re lacking someone to keep us company. With the young master being so handsome, are you not the perfect match?"

"Damn, are you women sick or something? I’ve been talking nicely and you won’t listen, right? If you don’t let me go now, I’ll stop being polite!"

With that, he brandished his sword, and his water-ink-painted face squeezed into an angry expression.

However, the Paperman fairies immediately assumed various postures, and colorful golden powder began to fall from the sky, as if simulating the special effects of a Spell.

After the golden powder settled, each fairy donned golden paper dresses and gripped swords tightly, surrounding I Want to Be Immortal in their midst.

What followed was a fight that looked like child’s play, with paper flying everywhere. Seven fairies with paper weapons clashed with Xia Yi the Unrivaled, occasionally scattering red paper scraps to simulate spurting blood.

Xiao Jie watched, his anxiety growing. Holy crap, could this really be escalating into a real fight?

Suddenly, his phone rang.

Xia Yi the Unrivaled: Bro, when are you coming... I... damn, these women are vicious!

On the stage, Xia Yi the Unrivaled kept dodging, pursued everywhere by the seven fairies, eliciting laughter from the ghosts in the audience.

It was indeed a real fight! Xiao Jie inwardly cursed, fearing the worst. If Xia Yi the Unrivaled got ’killed’ on stage, would he actually die?

"Ye Luo, it’s all on you this time. Do you have any way to save Xia Yi the Unrivaled?"

They were intruders here and would inevitably face a bloody battle should they truly engage. Currently, all these ghosts were neutral, but that could quickly change to outright hostility. If it were just him, Xiao Jie could take a gamble, but Bai Ze, I Want to Be Immortal, and the others had come with him. If it really came to a fight, he would drag his teammates down.

Even for Xia Yi the Unrivaled’s sake, Xiao Jie couldn’t act recklessly.

At this critical juncture, their only hope was Ye Luo. Perhaps only Ye Luo, the Impermanence Walker, might have the capability to save them.

Ye Luo sounded uncertain, "I’ll try, but don’t take my title of Impermanence Walker too seriously... I don’t have much authority here."

"That’s okay, you could do this..." Xiao Jie whispered his plan.

Ye Luo stopped, somewhat astounded, "Will that work?"

"I don’t know either. You’re the Impermanence Walker, what do you think? I’m just offering a suggestion."

After pondering for a moment, Ye Luo responded, "It’s worth a shot. I’ll try to keep a low profile and make it quick."

Despite saying that, Ye Luo’s next actions were anything but subtle.

She leapt onto the stage abruptly, "Everyone stop!" With that, she swung her sword at the Paperman fairies. A cry of alarm came from backstage as several strings were pulled, and the Papermen were yanked off the stage.

Xiao Jie had intended to rush up and rescue Xia Yi the Unrivaled but, to his surprise, the Paperman version of Xia Yi the Unrivaled was also dragged backstage with the fairies.

Thankfully, a relieved voice came through the phone.

"Phew, finally stopped. Damn it, why did the screen suddenly go black?"

Xiao Jie also let out a sigh of relief, realizing that the danger to Xia Yi the Unrivaled would only occur on stage.

"Xia, just hang in there. I’m figuring out a way to save you, don’t do anything rash."

By now, Ye Luo had already started causing a commotion on stage.

"Where’s your boss? Come out. I suspect you’re engaged in illegal activities."

The audience of ghosts immediately began to howl.

"What are you doing? We were just getting to the good part!"

"Get down from there, don’t spoil our fun."

"Who’s this girl, so rude and brash? Careful, or you might never get married."

Ye Luo ignored them, her sword lifted high, "If someone doesn’t come out soon, I’ll tear this stage down."

Finally, an old man with a linen face emerged from the back.

"Girl, are you looking for a beating? How dare you run wild here."

Ye Luo didn’t hesitate to show her hand.

"Impermanence Walker conducting business. Are you the boss?"

The old man retorted angrily, "Hmph, what does it matter if you’re an Impermanence Walker? This isn’t the Mortal World, nor the Netherworld. You have no jurisdiction here."

"Heh, it seems you’re not well-informed, old ghost. Did you know that just one hour ago, my Netherworld army invaded Ghost Mist Ridge, taking Soul Suppressing Pass, and soon we will sweep through Fengyin State and unify this Land of Nine States?"

"What... What! Are you saying that Yin Tide was your doing?"

"Hmm, good that you know. Now, do you still dare to say I have no jurisdiction? From now on, this Ghost Market will have to heed the orders of me, an envoy from the Netherworld, the Impermanence Walker."

Xiao Jie was also nervous. The approach he had suggested was bluffing, pure and simple.
