Chapter 180 - 180 169 Different Races and Alien Forms 13
180: Chapter 169 Different Races and Alien Forms (1/3) 180: Chapter 169 Different Races and Alien Forms (1/3) Fairy’s Sloughed Feathers.
Just like the remnants of fairy light, they are both materials of the First Energy Level of the fairy species.
And the Second Energy Level consists of the Fairy’s Flying Feathers and the Fairy’s Streaming Light.
The Fae are a naturally sublimating species, where every member is of the Second Energy Level or higher; they were considered legendary in the previous epoque, and some even believed they were merely a fairy tale.
Unexpectedly, in this current era, after the Heavenfall, the Fae, who had almost faded into obscurity, have once again returned to Terra’s grand stage.
They have even established their own small city-state, ‘Falling Star City,’ around what is now known as the ‘Sea of Fury,’ or the distant Falling Star Inner Sea.
Humans’ kingdoms refer to intelligent beings who are neither human nor Magical Beasts as ‘Different Races’ and ‘Alien Forms.’
Ironically, the relationship between Humans and Different Races is often close; for example, races like the Fae who dwell in resource-poor hills with no strategic value, and tree beings who settle in primal jungles, both maintain relations with many powerful forces.
Their power is immense, and even The Empire has no wish to antagonize them.
The most important reason is that no matter how much they fought, it would never be worth it.
On the other hand, Humans often fight endlessly amongst themselves because they share the same food chain and living space.
As for Alien Forms, they do not have such favorable treatment, but what’s more ironic is that the most numerous of these Alien Forms likely have their origins in Humans.
Those coming from the first generation of Sublimators who intermarried gave birth to offspring with deformities but powerful Bloodlines – and it is their grotesque yet strong Bloodlines that have been passed down with Wisdom to today.
Mutant Giants, Multi-armed Trolls, Two-headed Ogres, Shapeless Ones, Snake Demons, Red-haired Yetis…
These large, deformed, and even indescribably hideous races were initially separated from humans due to prejudice, and later, due to their abominable nature, completely cut off from humanity, thereby becoming today’s Alien Forms.
Despite their direct blood relation to humans and the fact that they are not yet reproductively isolated, they are despised by Humans even more than the Different Races like the Fae and tree beings.
Literature describing Alien Forms is rare, while numerous travel journals and records detailing the customs of Different Races abound.
Ian learned all he could about the Fae from these miscellaneous writings, which is why his curiosity about this race grew even more.
And today, he would have what could be considered his first true encounter with ‘a part of a Fae.’
“The materials of the Fae are mostly sold by the Fae themselves…
This race is a purely Spirit Energy being.
Their external form is a physical manifestation of a Spirit Energy seed that has gathered Natural Spiritual Energy Fields from the world and a portion of Origin Quality materials to condense into an external carapace, or rather, a tool for interacting with the outside world.”
Recalling the racial information of the Fae with anticipation, Ian opened the stone box, “So when a Fae dies, the Spirit Energy seed returns to the Fairy Homeland to nurture new Fae, and their carapace turns into pure Magical Medicine Ingredients—a Fairy selling these ingredients sees a portion of the money go into a communal fund, with the majority given to the new Fairy as seed money for their life.”
“What a marvelous race, if there’s a chance, I’d really like to go see for myself.”
With such reflections, the stone box was opened.
Then, the entire workbench was illuminated by a brilliant azure radiance.
Ian was not dazzled by the light; on the contrary, he saw even more clearly.
Which is why his face showed hesitation.
“Is this the wing of a Fae?”
Ian held up the box with a peculiar expression, examining the contents closely, “Have I misunderstood the Fae, or is this particular Fae a bit of an oddity?”
Clearly visible within the marble stone box, the Fae’s Sloughed Feather was not like the wings of the Fae Ian had imagined or read about in books.
It was not like some splendid butterfly wings, nor soft and fine downy feathers…
It wasn’t even the kind of fantastical wings composed of various crystals and geometric shapes…
It was one whole piece.
A solid, substantial wing, seemingly crystallized from unmelting ice…
Yes, a wing.
As a rocket engineer, how could Ian not recognize what an airplane wing looks like?
He was well acquainted with wings, and these fae wings were not only similar in shape but also had a very distinct structure, almost identical to the standard integral-panel type of aircraft wing.
They were made from two layers of a translucent sublimation material that appeared fragile but were in fact incredibly tough and a thin layer of luminous film embedded together, thus extremely smooth on the surface.
The space within the wings was supported by triangular structured ice pillars, which looked very fragile but were alarming in their sturdiness, completely overturning Ian’s inherent impression of fae wings being soft and fluttery, turning instantly into a special combat aircraft alloy.
And they were still glowing.
A pair of obviously unusual Fairy’s Sloughed Feathers were laid out in the stone box, twinkling with splendor on the young man’s workbench, causing his expression to shift between clouds and sunshine, uncertain whether to lament “really keeping up with the times” or “what the hell are fae in this world?!”
However, fortunately, Ian was indeed of a broad mind.
He quickly thought, “After all, fae are born with the ability to fly.
Isn’t it normal for them to surpass Humans in aerodynamics and wing design of their time?
I’ve heard that in Yanjiang, the Winged People live, but they cannot freely change their physiological characteristics like the fae can.
They are indeed slightly less capable in this respect.”
Having found a reason, Ian began to settle down to study the Fairy material that he was about to turn into a ‘Demi-Magic Potion’.
Yes, a Demi-Magic Potion.
What Ian was about to do now was to extract the Origin Structure from the wings of this ‘Water Series Fairy’ and then make it into a Demi-Magic Potion.
Then he would engrave it into a Silver Chip, connecting it to the True Form of the Wave Singer.
Besides the fixed ‘two Sublimation Organs’, he would add an additional Fairy Sublimation Organ.
Because it wasn’t a true Magic Potion that alters the essence of life, but rather an addition of an extra Sublimation Organ on the basis of an already transformed essence, it was called a Demi-Magic Potion.
In fact, the technical difficulty of a Demi-Magic Potion is much greater than that of a complete Magic Potion.
Ultimately, this is an intermediate mode between converting from the True Form to the Bloodline, theoretically very prone to mutations…
but let’s not talk about the many experiments Ian had already conducted using Foresight View.
With the Silver Chip as a foundation, at most he would just waste the material.
“It would still be best not to waste it.
It wasn’t easy for Elder Prude to find a Fairy material, and I fear I’d need to rely on the connections through Master Gossay to get a channel, but that would be too slow,” he murmured.
Exhaling, a silver-cyan halo lit up in Ian’s eyes.
Immediately, the data of the material before him transformed into densely packed small characters, emerging before his eyes.
[Fairy’s Sloughed Feathers (Ice Island Species)]
[First Energy Level·Unprocessed·Elite·Edible]
[Fairy from Ice Island Town, with ice wings shed during the transformation.
Made mainly of unmelting ice, combined with a certain amount of Levitating Dustsand, extremely hard, but low in flexibility]
[Can be used as magical medicine ingredients, alchemy materials, and inscriptions for Light Ink raw materials]
[For regular storage, should be placed in a cool and dry place to settle, Icebound is optimal.
If conditions do not permit, it can be immersed and sealed in water with a purity of above 90.75%, for making Magic Potion consider the sealing water as a complete material component to ensure above 98% effectiveness]
[Contained Primordial Essence: 157.4093 standard units]

Flashes of silver light flickered.
Having confirmed the specific details, Ian began to operate the vacuum distillation apparatus in the workshop.
The refinement of the Magic Potion was about to start.
