Chapter 1159: Chapter 171 As Long As You Are Prepared, Death Will Not Catch Up to You (6200)_2
“Wine, is the Domain of Void.”
The Great Prince tapped the wine bottle, and the remaining bit of wine inside spurted from the bottle mouth, floating mid-air, turning into a golden mist, like a sea of fog.
“It’s often said that the Domain of Void is a mirror. Human virtues and vices are reflected in the mirror and sublimated, virtues become Angels, and vices become Demons—this is the legend. We all know there are no Angels in the Domain of Void, only Mech Deities. But in a sense, Mech Deities are no different from Angels, except they aren’t formed from human virtue, but from the desire for order, thus voluntarily shaped by technology, wisdom, and logic into Spirit Machineries.”
“It’s the same with demons, actually.”
Carlos snapped his fingers at the sea of wine mist before them, and instantly, the comparatively transparent bubbles in the wine began to rise, coalescing into figures of Mech Deities.
Each of these Mech Deities was vastly different, yet they all possessed a unique aesthetic. Clearly, this wasn’t casually shaped by Carlos, but rather reflections of various Mech Deities he had encountered in the past.
Then quickly, the more turbid bubbles in the wine mist began to sink, gradually forming groups of unspeakable entities, things that were whether hideously terrifying or incomprehensible by human geometry, remained undefined.
“Demons originally didn’t exist,” the Great Prince said as he gazed at those chaotic entities. “In ancient times, during the era of pre-epoch civilizations, these things were purely imagination. They were merely scattered malevolent thoughts existing in Subspace, some vengeful spirits of the deceased, some cursed dream-formed black mists… they would pollute Spirit Energy Users venturing into the Domain of Void, twisting them, altering their nature, staining them with inner demons, thus spawning legends of demons and devils. Voidrealm Machine God is the ‘cleaner’ sweeping away such pollutants, extinguishing them from hundreds of angles, much like clearing garbage from a home.”
“But demons with concrete forms originally didn’t exist.”
“But after the Calamity of Heavenly Fall, demons indeed emerged. Much like how Humans created Mech Deities, something existing within the Domain of Void created demons.”
Saying this, Carlos looked solemn, “The Domain of Void is not a mirror. The Domain of Void is an ocean. Whether it’s Mech Deities or demons, Angels or devils, they are all bubbles of human dreams rising from the depths of the heart, floating on the sea, gathering into large foam.”
“But just as Humans fashion Mech Deities, it’s the creators behind the demons that are most crucial.”
“Ian, when you pursue knowledge of demons, make sure to remember this… our true adversary, along with Humans and the entity opposing Dragon Island, is not those shadows, but the darkness hidden beyond shadows itself.”
“…I understand.”
Ian was equally solemn, and this lit his face not as a semblance, but sincerity from within.
And he too realized the true essence of such an existence as demons.
—Isn’t this a kind of essence of the Spirit Energy civilization itself, or is it creations made by them like a Spark?!
Right away, Ian thought of Carlin’s Flower.
Rooted in the Dreamlike Void, the sea of Human Souls, absorbing souls to transform itself, connecting all things, the Divine Tree, Carlin’s Flower, in strict terms, is actually a demon—it is the most vile mother tree demon, the utmost evil that devours souls to create falsehood.
Likewise, it is also a Spark created by a Spirit Energy civilization.
And other demons, regardless of type, probably have similar origins behind them? Perhaps, just as Voidrealm Machine Gods have already begun to generate their own ecology within the Domain of Void, becoming a phenomenon and species that can self-generate and evolve…
When demons appeared in Terra’s Domain of Void, they also completely altered the rules of this Domain of Void, becoming a phenomenon and species within the Domain of Void…
A kind of Spark far easier to ‘continue’ than tangible Sparks.
Much like the ‘Blood River Armament’ Ian possessed, it could, through the user’s death and resurrection, gradually transform the user into a Blood Demon—this is almost a phenomenon-like transformation, converting the resentment and hatred of other creatures into one’s ‘Void Demon.’
And the Blood River Armament, this time brought along by Ian, intended for his other identity, ‘Knight Mahdi of the Secluded Valley,’ to use.
“It seems you understand well.”
Carlos was quite satisfied as well.
The reason he revealed such confidential information to Ian is precisely because he has already begun collaborating with Ian, supporting Ian’s cult as his investment, thereby naturally requiring Ian’s cult to provide him some assistance.
Information relating to the Domain of Void and demons is a necessary segment as Ian will ultimately come into contact with this information. It is better he sell this favor than let Embrace Light or Su Ming relay it.
Moreover, it seemed Ian isn’t entirely ignorant about the Domain of Void…
“Is it the Fae?”
The Great Prince opened his mouth, swallowing all the wine mist in the air, placing the bottle down, “Did the Fae reveal the Logos of the Domain of Void to you? It’s quite advantageous for developing cults; even the local cults of those small nations, or even Cults, can cultivate their own Voidrealm Machine God through people’s dreams and doctrines… over by the Dark Mountain Range, it’s referred to as Totem Ancestor Spirits, or something like that? Anyway, such artificially crafted primitive Mech Deities, although not as strong as those leftover from pre-epoch civilizations, have their own spirituality.”
