Chapter 1145: Chapter 165: Prophet Ian’s Candidness (6200)_3
“Ian!”
Beside him, Yisen Gard held his wine glass and stared wide-eyed at Ian, whispering in amazement, “This is even tastier than the best Stamina Potion I’ve had! Better than Magic Liquor!”
“…You really have a tongue on the same level as Sio’s.”
Hearing such comments like ‘Wow, Ian, this fried chicken leg is even better than KXC!’ made Ian roll his eyes, but upon reflection, he couldn’t blame Yisen Gard too much. The blond young man had only ended his diet centered around Stamina Potion a year ago, and he had been traveling for work to the Eastern Plains recently, which surely involved missing out on good food, hence finding everything novel.
“Next time you come to Xiawei Territory, I’ll show you what diverse and distinctive cuisine really is.” Thinking of this, Ian felt motivated: “Definitely a different flavor from Canaan Moore, it’ll open your eyes!”
“Hey!”
At the head seat, Anfa seemed displeased: “Is the food I prepared not tasty? Why are you talking about things from The Empire?”
“No, just helping broaden Yisen’s horizons so he can appreciate the effort Anfa put into preparing this meal without comparing it to tavern food.”
Ian waved his hand, indicating he didn’t imply such, and mentioned Yisen Gard’s previous diet of Stamina Potion, which instead filled Anfa’s gaze towards Yisen with sympathy: “To keep it up until sixteen… Even for our Royal Blood, we stop using Stamina Potions as staple food by twelve!”
“Different Bloodline True Forms indeed have different rigorous cultivation conditions.”
Even Sio displayed a proud expression to Yisen Gard: “Yes, next time I’ll take you to tour the South Ridge, feast to your heart’s content, and even experience the feel of roasting meat yourself!”
“To me, self-roasting is the best taste!”
Yisen, although initially a bit shy, openly accepted the invitation afterward and promised Sio they’d go camping in the Bison Mountain Range in the future.
The dishes kept coming, from the chewy pterosaur bone meat to stir-fried delicacies like ‘Lantern Abalone,’ ‘Radio Squid,’ and ‘Gray Lance Long Shrimp’ from the Yongji Ocean. Ian only then realized elves have a surprisingly bold taste, enjoying fried and barbecue-smoked foods… Thinking about it made sense; not frying or smoking meat in the forest would allow it to go bad. If wanting something light, there’s an abundance of fresh fruit and wild vegetables, so there’s no need to focus on meat.
Coastal elves, moreover, enjoy the pure flavors of seafood, but to distill the ultimate taste, adding some spice and oil to fry it is part of the culinary experience—they even have dedicated spicy recipes.
Especially seeing the elves’ deep connection with the Azure Sky Royal Court, Ian watched as an elven chef personally pushed a cart bearing a whole roast lamb!
Ian had tasted Qiuqiu Merino Sheep lamb at a reception at the Imperial Capital with the Ellen Family, but was restrained by a lack of displayed strength back then. This time, among familiar faces, many aware of his true abilities, he didn’t hold back.
The lamb meat, a golden hue with glistening droppings of fat, sprinkled generously with spices and salt, was tender and mouth-watering.
The feast was, without a doubt, delightful for both hosts and guests, with dish after dish arriving only to be polished off by the Sublimators. Everyone was satisfied, Anfa ate the least but felt joyous seeing everyone so happy.
However, as they ate, Anfa noticed something amiss.
Ian was eating too much.
Indeed, not just Anfa, but Yisen Gard also noticed, and even Sio looked up in puzzlement towards the young man’s direction.
Ten portions? Twenty portions? No, no, no… not that superficially much.
The human body’s capacity to absorb Origin Quality from food is actually limited daily, even for Sublimators. Without specifically enhancing the Joke System, a Sublimator’s digestive tract cannot continuously operate at high load to process the vast Origin Quality contained within food—unless using the gizzard.
But the gizzard is a source of life, a base of Origin Quality, casually allowing food inside might disrupt future consumption of Magic Potions or other unique Sublimation items! This is an inherent limitation, where only the stronger you are, the more you can eat… or perhaps it’s that those who eat more become stronger?
No matter what, the quantity of food Ian was consuming at that moment, if it were a typical Second Energy Level individual, would already be the limit.
A Sublimator with specifically enhanced digestive systems might continue to eat, but definitely not as easily as Ian, without even a bulge in his belly, rapidly and effortlessly finishing all the delicacies before him.
“Mm… Really good, Anfa, your chefs are amazing.”
Elegantly finishing the last piece of crab meat, Ian placed the crab claw aside with grace.
He smiled, meeting the gaze from everyone staring his way, then gently stroked the Silent Voice Ring on his right hand, enveloping the entire table, silencing the music from the elven girl ensemble behind: “Yet, as you all saw, I seem to have eaten a bit too much.”
His gaze moved from the surprised Anfa to the bewildered Sio, glancing at the raised eyebrow of Master Gossay then over the calm Master Gravie, finally landing on the slightly enlightened Yisen Gard, as Ian calmly revealed the truth: “Yes, my strength has now reached a level comparable to the Third Energy Level. In fact, I am now in the Third Energy Level.”
