Chapter 1124: Chapter 159: As Long As You Don’t Die, Go All Out (6000)_4

“What’s wrong, Jegarna, cat got your tongue?”

—Go ahead and rely on that pretty face from The Empire!”

Jegarna brushed the dust off his robe with a sullen expression, wanting to say that, but realized it lacked any real sting… living off Ian? God, if he could, he’d be happy to!

Saying such a thing would obviously make Anfa burst into laughter, so even though his face was changing colors in embarrassment, he held his tongue and turned to leave without a word.

However, despite getting utterly beaten by Ian, one could even say he was wiped out in seconds, Jegarna bore no ill feelings towards Ian. Before leaving, he even waved to Ian, indicating he wouldn’t retaliate—only a fool would feud with such a talent. The power and potential Ian displayed were enough to gain the Ten Kings Blood’s attention.

“Really like a dog.”

Anfa shook her head and laughed for a moment at Jegarna’s retreating, disheveled figure, then turned to scrutinize Ian, as if seeing this friend in a new light.

“Your power…” she sighed softly, with a near-recitative tone, “is even more exaggerated than mine as a Dragon Blood Elf. When we first met, you weren’t this strong, you even got ambushed and injured once.”

Anfa was clearly referring to when Ian first encountered the Dragon Worship Cult and was secretly “ambushed and injured” by a Magnetic Light Knight. She had always suspected, and now she realized the oddity of that encounter.

Ian being injured? That’s hilarious, akin to a tank getting a flat tire from a shard of glass on the road.

“That was definitely Ian’s plan to get to know you all. Him getting ambushed and injured? It was definitely deliberate.”

But Yisen Gard wasn’t surprised at all—in his view, Ian’s performance was to be expected. The fact that he could hold his own against his uncle, Patrick, clad in colossus armor at the First Energy Level, made Ian’s crushing domination over other Second Energy Levels no big deal, as easy as breathing.

As for being ambushed, Yisen Gard scoffed even harder at this notion. Ian could walk through the trap-laden South Sea Great Labyrinth with his eyes closed and still find the only correct path. He even performed alchemy experiments on instinct. How could such a person be ambushed? What a third-rate joke.

Anfa just hadn’t known Ian long enough or understood his nature, which is why she was so startled.

As for Master Gravie, apart from the Spirit Energy Artifact against the Dragon Soul, he didn’t even bat an eye—he already knew Ian had the power of the Third Energy Level. For the old master, everything that had transpired was as mundane as turning a page in a book; he might as well focus more on the next step of his research project.

“Dragon God’s Emissary, True Dragon Inheritance.”

Ian raised his hand, signaling Anfa not to inquire further. “Besides this, I now understand what you mean by unswerving clashes between the Blood of the Ten Kings—just don’t kill, and then go all out?”

He reflected, “Compared to you Canaan Moore folks, we Imperial People’s conflicts are nothing more than a gentle breeze.”

“As long as it doesn’t involve the Fourth and Fifth Energy Levels. Or rather, as long as it doesn’t involve reaching the Fifth Energy Level.”

And Anfa shook her head, explaining the true essence of ‘conflicts that never truly break apart’: “In Canaan Moore, it’s not unusual for anyone to die. After all, apart from those of the Fifth Energy Level, no one else is truly important.”

“Even in The Empire, the Fiery Flame Land, Yanjiang, or the City of Knowledge, this logic still holds.”

Though being the one attacked, Anfa showed no fear at all, not even a hint of surprise.

The Elf girl’s delicate face showed a faint fatigue. She shook her head slightly, saying, “Actually, the reason I came out to meet you with this not-so-powerful surrogate body is to prevent my usual combat body from being damaged before the exploration… My real body is staying at the mansion and won’t venture out casually.”

“But clearly, this method isn’t very effective, as other families have begun to use attacks aimed at the Dragon Soul to strike me.”
