Chapter 1086: Chapter 147 You Can Call Me [Pioneer] (8500)_3
But if the Lost Epoch’s millennium of loss refers to the Terra civilization continuously waging wars against various extraterrestrial civilizations amidst various natural disasters after the Calamity of Heavenly Fall, battling with the ‘Extraterrestrial Gods’ that hatched from these Sparks… then it makes sense that civilization would be lost in the flames of war, or reshaped into a completely different form.
“In the Lost Epoch, the system of the previous civilization gradually twisted into one dominated by Sublimators… this must have been a ‘military ascendance’ that could only occur during wartime… yes, perhaps initially, Human Sublimators didn’t possess such powerful forces like the Fourth and Fifth Energy Levels. The survivors of the previous Terra civilization relied on the residual technologies of the past epoch to slay these alien gods and used their flesh and blood to forge the first High Energy Level elite!”
Honestly, when Ian learned about the Ascender System from Teacher Hiliard, the most fundamental question popped into his mind.
“Ordinary people, when gathered in groups, could barely hunt First Energy Level Magical Beasts, refine their flesh and blood into Magic Potions, enabling people to become Sublimators, and with Sublimators, hunting magical beasts became easier, thus increasing the number of Sublimators.”
At that time, the boy expressed his confusion to the teacher: “Then, a large number of First-Level Sublimators, gathering together, might be able to hunt Second Energy Level Magical Beasts using technology to arm themselves. Up to this point, I can understand and it makes sense.”
“However, no matter if it’s a group of ten thousand Second Energy Levels, they could never possibly hunt a Third Energy Level magical beast… it’s not possible, teacher!”
One person, with an average physical quality 20% higher than others, could easily defeat several who are only 20% weaker, but he certainly couldn’t beat a group of five or six working together.
However, if this person’s physical quality is 100% higher, doubling others, he could easily smash through dozens with a single punch, or even use guerilla tactics to annihilate the opponent.
Surpassing a certain limit reaching the power of qualitative change can ignore quantity. Of course, if those dozens use firearms and technology, the former might still lose.
But what if the former’s overall stats are dozens of times that of ordinary people? What if gun speed is less than half his running speed to him? Such existence cannot be constrained by any number or technology.
A simpler reasoning: a tank could completely dominate a medieval battlefield, and even if limited and defeated by medieval people using firebombs, oils, and other methods, the cost would be far greater than a single tank.
But could medieval people deal with a space-based strike system positioned in outer space?
Impossible, they wouldn’t even be aware of its existence.
This is ‘qualitative change.’
The Third Energy Level, in Terra, a world teeming with Sublimators, has reached the smallest unit of this ‘qualitative change’.
With Heart-Light Shield, flawless, unscathed, a Third Energy Level facing even ten thousand fully armed, even armored Second Energy Levels would not fear.
Second Energy Level Sublimators could never obtain Third Energy Level materials with their individual power… that’s why on the Terra Continent, the First and Second Energy Levels might be common, but the Third Energy Level is very rare.
Because the only channel to acquire Third Energy Level materials can only be provided by stronger ‘organizations’.
But here lies the problem.
If the Third Energy Level is already so hard to achieve, what about the next Fourth and Fifth Energy Levels?
One must know that, generally speaking, an entire planet might not even be able to nurture a single Fourth Energy Level life!
From where did Terra’s initial Fourth and Fifth Energy Levels and their Magic Potion materials originate?
Ian didn’t know at first, but now he understands.
They all came from Sparks.
All from extraterrestrial origins.
Remnants of the pre-epoch Terra civilization, utilizing their last remaining powers, defeated the first extraterrestrial gods that descended upon Terra—they were already riddled with scars, their civilization in ruins, yet enemies kept arriving relentlessly.
For this, to counter the endless invasion and war, destruction, and apocalypse, the first Sublimators took the most crucial step.
They devoured the bodies of the gods, transforming themselves into gods, becoming deities walking the Human Realm, standing on the Master Throne above all beings.
—This is the origin of Terra’s first Fifth Energy Level legacy.
The beginning of the initial ‘Bloodline Heritage’ Sublimators.
“Indeed. It is inevitable.”
Ian muttered softly.
He still remembers, when watching the Prophetic Dream, his commentary upon seeing information related to Carlin’s Flower—even on his Earth of the previous life, such an interstellar civilization, already beginning to construct Light Speed Spacecraft, couldn’t withstand multiple invasions of super beings akin to Carlin’s Flower.
Obviously, Carlin’s Flower is probably a Spark preserved and contained by the previous epoch’s civilization, but later released in future generations.
Facing such invasions, once or twice might be manageable, but as the incidents increase, with more people dying because of war, the Terra civilization will only weaken and then decline.
This has nothing to do with technological strength, unless there is a generation gap where one side can absolutely crush the other, otherwise, the result of war must be both sides suffering damage.
