Chapter 1058: Chapter 138: The Silent Prelude of the Arcane Era (1/2)

“The Pioneer…”

Ian unconsciously repeated the term. He focused on the intricate patterns of information flickering on the Silver Chip, thoughts flooding his mind. Yet, in the end, all those thoughts converged on one point: “The Pioneer… isn’t that the codename for the previous era’s civilization, the Director of the Exotic Species Research Institute?”

The common language of the Terra Continent, in essence, is a simplified form of inscriptions. Its relationship to inscriptions resembles that of simplified characters to traditional ones. However, the complexity of inscriptions far exceeds that of traditional characters. Just as there are many methods to simplify traditional characters, it is common for a single character to have four variations, much like the same name being transliterated into Charles, Chârl, Karl, or Carlos based on different regional pronunciations.

People with the same name often add unique embellishments or strokes to their signatures—or even create a distinctive code—to emphasize their individuality. It’s akin to embedding a personal QR code into their signature, offering readers a clear understanding of its original meaning.

This is a distinct textual culture rooted in the Terra language and inscriptions. Theoretically, a single character or codename can have multiple correct representations.

And therein lies the issue.

The way “Pioneer” is inscribed in the Silver Chip is identical, down to the smallest detail, to how the Exotic Species Research Institute’s Director styled it.

This is no coincidence… The Director of the Exotic Species Research Institute undoubtedly replicated the term from the Silver Chip and adopted it as their codename!

“That Director must have been the original holder of the Silver Chip… It’s certain they, like me, received greetings from the real ‘Pioneer,’ which led to such a choice!”

Ian was resolute in his thoughts: “Perhaps they, like me, achieved some groundbreaking, revolutionary innovations, earning the recognition of the true ‘Pioneer.'”

The Arcane Pathway is a revolutionary shift within the Sublimation Path. The complete form of the Arcane Pathway doesn’t even require Demonic Beast Materials or the refinement of Magic Potions. Using the hyper-computational power from the Meditation Technique, it can mirror the Origin Structure, enabling practitioners to become self-sustaining extraordinary individuals through pure cultivation.

The Arcane Pathway Ian currently possesses is incomplete—or rather, his Meditation efficiency is too low. Thus, he still relies on Magic Potions to accelerate his cultivation. It might not seem vastly different from traditional Sublimation at first glance, appearing only as a potent inheritance. Yet fundamentally, the two are worlds apart.

This profound transformation marks Ian as a Pinnacle Individual confirmed by the Silver Chip. No human at the Third Energy Level could rival his perfect template. Furthermore, it has drawn the attention of the ‘Pioneer.’

But Ian detected that the Pioneer’s acknowledgement via the Silver Chip might be a remnant “recording.”

This information is embedded within the grand Aether network spanning infinite space-time. Any individual across universes containing Aether who meets their criteria would receive such a notification.

Evidently, Ian isn’t the only one to receive this notice.

Aside from Ian, the previous era’s civilization, the Director of the Exotic Species Research Institute (henceforth referred to simply as the Director), also attained this honor.

The Director clearly took immense pride in this and even styled himself as the Pioneer.

But what exactly did the Director accomplish…?

Ian speculated that the Director might have laid the very foundation of today’s Terra Sublimation Path.

The extraction of sublimation materials from the bodies of Magical Beasts, refining them into Magic Potions to consume and elevate oneself… The originator of this entire system was likely the Director!

“The Exotic Species Research Institute, to put it bluntly, is fundamentally an institute for the study of Magical and Extraterrestrial Beasts. The Director, armed with the Silver Chip, could emulate the Origin Structures of Magical Beasts just as I can… Using this, he blended the biotechnology of the previous era’s civilization with extraterrestrial technology, pioneering the Magic Potion System!”

Ian slowly rose to his feet, still feeling a lingering chill in the cavity of his chest. This sensation stemmed from the remnants of Adalbert’s Dead Lord’s Power and the Flash Silver Skeleton within him. However, the youth dismissed all such abnormalities, heading to his workstation instead. Opening his journal, he began jotting down reflections and details from his recent surgery.

As he wrote, Ian pondered: “If so, then the Exotic Species Research Institute in Canaan Moore likely contains many secrets beyond the expectations of any nation.”

Not to mention, what might the Director have accomplished using the Silver Chip? As someone who also possesses the Silver Chip, Ian deeply understood its significance to a researcher. It could revolutionize their work.

The Dark Gold Dragon, perhaps, is connected to the Director’s research from before the collapse of the previous era’s civilization.

Yet, this raises further questions.

Initially, Ian assumed the Silver Chip might be the “main chip” of the Skyfall Spaceship that had crashed onto Terra… Yet now, it seems the Silver Chip’s origins predate even the Skyfall Spaceship?

These thoughts would have to wait.

Aside from that, the Silver Chip unearthed even more information.

Pinnacle Individuals, as the term suggests, are beings that transcend the historical limitations of their species.

Ian inferred that if his mentor, Hiliard, had once condensed five Domains of Extremes and achieved an innovative breakthrough in this regard, then without a doubt, he would also have been a Pinnacle Individual—a Pinnacle Individual at the Fifth Energy Level.
