(7400, It’s a Long Chapter, Isn’t It!)_2 Yes, they are gradually absorbing the surrounding Origin Quality to grow…
But what’s the use of growing bigger if they don’t break out of their shell!
It’s already been almost a year, and Andor is nearly in despair.
If the dragon eggs do not hatch this year, the likelihood of them hatching in the future will be very small.
Not only that, but as the person responsible for this batch of dragon eggs, if the breeding ground declares the hatching a failure, he will undoubtedly be executed, thrown to the nearby sabertooth fish as cheap fish feed!
That’s why Andor was so excited upon hearing that the crystalline dragon egg had hatched.
“Hope it’s true, hope it’s true…”
Muttering these words, Andor made his way through the various automated checkpoints – there are very few human operators inside the breeding ground, most everything is managed by automated alchemy machinery.
The Empire employs many emerging technologies still under testing here.
Here, there’s no room for human error or oversight, all procedures follow the strictest sequence, as if it were a natural law.
In fact, the magical beasts inside the breeding ground would truly treat many of the internal rules as ‘natural phenomena’ to adapt to, thus cultivating unique habits and new abilities unseen in external magical beasts.
Seeing this, a revelation hit Andor.
He somewhat understood why the labyrinth nurtures ‘labyrinth species’ so different from their outside counterparts.
But now wasn’t the time for reflection; soon, Andor arrived at the dragon egg incubation room he was responsible for.
The dragon egg incubation room is located in an underground essence flow area.
Interestingly enough, despite being the eggs of a Fourth Energy Level magical beast, they were only looked after by him, an elf pirate working to redeem himself…
Andor had previously suspected whether it was possible he was being subtly silenced?
That these two dragon eggs could never hatch, and Master Gossay just wanted to bury him under the breeding ground’s rules in this dreary place?
It’s possible – that old man’s face is kind-hearted, but with a malicious heart, offering kindness only to those he admires!
But now, with the hatching of the dragon eggs, these speculations have become meaningless.
With an excited heart, the elf with dark green long hair lifted his head and looked into the glass room.
Then he stood stunned.
What a beautiful creature appeared before him?
The young dragon, draped in pale blue crystal scale armor, quietly coiled atop a snowy white down cushion.
Its slender body initially had some semi-transparent quality, but as time passed and the eggshell provided nutrition, it grew opaque like the deep sea.
The young dragon seemed aware of his arrival, wagging its tail, turning its head, and three pairs of dragon eyes locked onto the ‘familiar man’ before it, intricate prismatic patterns swirling within its irises as if seeing through him in a moment.
The newly born crystalline dragon, like its maternal form, appeared as a horned and clawed sea serpent.
But compared to sea serpent magical beasts of the same size, it appeared more slender and flexible, and its scales, which seemed as smooth as jade, were actually sharp enough to cut through iron.
Especially those three pairs of eyes, they gazed at him with a markedly human-like enigmatic demeanor.
Andor’s whole body stiffened for a moment, and in that moment, he felt a bizarre sensation that the young dragon before him was not truly a young dragon, but some incredibly dangerous, terrifying demon reborn in its body!
And he, rushing over so eagerly, was without a doubt the kind of first unlucky victim depicted in all those horror magical beast tales!
“Dammit, how can that be!
How could I be scared by a little dragon?!”
Andor roared internally, intensifying his spirit, then immediately turned around, fleeing without hesitation.
—What a joke, who is he?
He’s a man who survived even in the South Sea Great Labyrinth!
He surely knows what can and can’t be known, what can and can’t be seen, doesn’t he?
In a situation where his instincts started warning him, Andor absolutely couldn’t stay alone; he needed to find other D-level personnel or the manager of this cultivation area, have everyone come together, only then could he avoid all potential danger!
Needless to say, if what happened in the incubation room really was a ‘millennia-old demon reborn’, by running straight away, he might actually survive.
Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case.
[Andor]
A calm voice echoed in the elf pirate’s mind: [Stop]
As if by the command of law, Andor’s body halted as soon as the voice resounded.
Then, the pirate captain, with a face full of doubt and uncertainty, turned his head to look at the glass room behind him.
[Yes, it’s me]
The little dragon lazily coiled itself further, but the voice continued to resound uninterrupted in Andor’s mind: [Remember who I am now, Andor]
“…Ian?”
Spitting out this name almost tremblingly, Andor swallowed hard, finding it hard to believe: “You, you died?!”
Manipulating the young dragon, Ian barely perceptibly flicked the tip of its tail, an action that with humans might equate to a raised eyebrow: [Not dead.
Your thinking’s too jumpy; I don’t need to die to possess this little dragon, and this isn’t some horror story, it’s a special Spirit Energy Technique]
He was entirely keeping up with Andor’s leap of thought, even preempting his ideas.
