Chapter 404: Chapter 259, Princess Arrives!_2
"But..." Shen Xinglan was somewhat worried about Phoenix.
He feared that Tang Fei was a schemer, approaching Phoenix with the intent of avenging Tang Li and the Tang Family.
If that was indeed his purpose, then Phoenix’s situation was extremely dangerous.
She trusted Tang Fei too much and had no defenses against him.
Meanwhile, their relationship had become more and more distant, transforming from intimate allies to the most familiar strangers.
At this thought, Shen Xinglan felt a chill in his heart.
Shen Boyu seemed to see through Shen Xinglan’s concerns. His smile gradually faded and he said with a serious and earnest expression, "Don’t forget, the Shen Family now greatly resembles the Tang Family of the past. What they did to the Tang Family, can likewise be replicated onto the Shen Family..."
"Yes," Shen Xinglan replied gravely.
"Since we didn’t manage to kill him this time, it means the kid’s fate isn’t sealed yet," Shen Boyu spoke up. "We’ll just watch from the sidelines and see what kind of surprises they can bring us."
"Lu Yu, I hope you won’t disappoint me."
------
Tang Fei lay on the hospital bed, somewhat bored.
He had slept too long while unconscious, as if he had slept through the entire month’s worth of sleep.
Once he awoke, he found it impossible to sleep again.
Moreover, his injuries weren’t severe; he had only fainted due to the exhaustion of his Yin Yang Qi, leaving his body powerless.
After the doctor’s treatment and the infusion of various expensive nutrients, the Yin Yang Qi within him also began to slowly rise and flow through the blood vessels in his body once again.
Tang Fei felt his current physical state was extraordinarily good, extremely comfortable and pleasant.
He hadn’t rested in a long time, and this "coma" allowed him to completely relax.
When he had just woken up, Xuanyuan Mingjing and Si Yinchuan had visited him once but hadn’t come again.
Apart from the doctors who came occasionally to check Tang Fei’s condition and record the data from the instruments, Tang Fei was actually quite content with the peace and quiet.
"Doctor, when can I be discharged?" Tang Fei asked, looking at the doctor.
He felt his body was no longer in serious condition and that lying there was just a waste of time.
He wanted to get out; he had many things to do.
"Wait," the doctor said.
"Wait until when?"
"Until I think you can be discharged."
"But haven’t I recovered already?"
"I think so too, but you are the Dean’s disciple. The Dean said to let you recover well for a few days. We all have to listen to the Dean."
"..."
Now that the doctor had brought Xuanyuan Mingjing into the equation, Tang Fei found himself without a plan.
He decided to wait until Xuanyuan Mingjing’s next visit to communicate with him well and get permission to be discharged for rest.
The doctor helped Tang Fei change an energy solution bottle, then left the infirmary with his hands in the pockets of his white lab coat.
As Tang Fei closed his eyes, preparing to take a short rest, the door to the ward was violently pushed open.
"Bro... Brother, are you okay? Brother..."
A plump figure, like a small mountain, came rumbling towards him.
Seeing Little Fatty, Tang Fei asked in surprise, "How did you get here?"
"Sister Phoenix brought me."
Little Fatty looked at Tang Fei with a face full of anxiety, sweating profusely on his forehead from running too fast, and asked urgently, "Bro, are you all right? Where are you hurt? Was it Shen Xinglan? I knew that pretty boy was no good..."
Tang Fei hadn’t had a chance to answer when the door to the room was pushed open again. Accompanied by Dean Si Yinchuan from White Crane Academy, Phoenix and Sheng Xinhua walked in from the outside.
Tang Fei and Phoenix’s eyes met, seeing deep concern in hers.
But because Si Yinchuan was present, she couldn’t openly express it.
Si Yinchuan looked at Tang Fei with a great big smile and teased, "You’re quite a prominent figure, aren’t you? The Princess and Miss Sheng have personally come to visit you."
"That proves I am somewhat trustworthy, and the friends I make are genuine," Tang Fei responded.
On the way over, Phoenix had already learned from Dean Si that Tang Fei’s injuries weren’t serious and he could be discharged in a few days. Therefore, she was no longer in a hurry. She went to the side of the hospital bed, looked at Tang Fei, and said, "I heard you were sick, and Little Fatty was very anxious and wanted to come see you... He couldn’t come by himself, so I shamelessly asked Dean Si to arrange a visit."
Little Fatty nodded earnestly in agreement, "Yes, it was me who initiated the call to Sister Phoenix."
"..." Tang Fei.
"..." Phoenix.
Si Yinchuan’s face showed a knowing smile as he spoke, "What’s the big deal? You all just need to give a shout, and you’re welcome here anytime. Whenever the Princess wishes to come, she can come."
"That would be troubling for Dean Si," Phoenix replied with a bow, maintaining her Princessly demeanor.
Si Yinchuan glanced at his watch and said, "Oh, the Dean is still waiting for me to play chess with him. Seeing you young folks so cheerful has made me forget my duties. Have a good chat; I’ll leave you be."
After saying that, he bowed to Phoenix, patted Tang Fei on the shoulder, and then turned to walk outside.
Sheng Xinhua’s alluring eyes roamed over Tang Fei’s face and body, asking, "Haven’t lost any parts, have you?"
"I’m just feeling weak. I didn’t get injured at all," Tang Fei explained.
"That’s good," said Sheng Xinhua with a nod. "I needed to make sure for someone. In case you were missing an arm or a leg, or lost some important part, how would you manage the lower half of your body?"
"..."
Looking at Sheng Xinhua with mute exasperation, Tang Fei thought to himself that this woman starts driving at the slightest opportunity.
This IS a hospital, she doesn’t take the setting into account at all.
"I’m glad you’re okay," Phoenix looked at Tang Fei with tender eyes, saying, "I heard you were unconscious, which scared us."
"I’m fine," Tang Fei reassured Phoenix softly. "I even asked the doctor if I could be discharged, and he said that if I were an ordinary person, I could leave today. But, since I am the Dean’s disciple, I have to stay for a couple more days."
"Disciples of the Dean get special treatment," Sheng Xinhua smirked. "All paid for by our taxpayer money."
"Why don’t you ask the Dean to let me out now then?" Tang Fei joked.
Sheng Xinhua shrugged her shoulders, "I wouldn’t dare."
Tang Fei looked at the formal palace dress Phoenix was wearing, and asked, "Have you just come back from somewhere?"
"Somebody was on an inspection trip abroad. After hearing you had returned from the Old Land and were unconscious, they immediately canceled the rest of the itinerary; even a handsome Prince was left behind... making an overnight dash to get back..."
"Xin Huai..." Phoenix interrupted softly.
Sheng Xinhua wasn’t shy about expressing her true emotions publicly, which made Phoenix somewhat embarrassed.
But Sheng Xinhua didn’t intend to stop there as she continued, "They thought it might be a final farewell, the last meeting of life and death. Who would have guessed that upon entering the hospital room, not only are you completely fine, but you also appear quite rosy... If you had a couple more cuts on your face or body, we might have tricked a few tears from the Princess."
Tang Fei looked towards Phoenix and said, "I wouldn’t dare let the Princess shed tears."
"..." Phoenix grew even more bashful.
Her cheeks flushed with a pink hue, even her slender neck, barely concealed by the white dress, took on a blush.
This guy, how could he dare to say anything?
"Oh my, such flattery," Sheng Xinhua pretended to shudder in disgust.
She patted Little Fatty on the shoulder, "Little Fatty, take me to the restroom."
"Mr. Sheng, I haven’t been here before and don’t know where the restroom is," Little Fatty said, clearly distressed.
"Then you can accompany me to find it," Sheng Xinhua said as she pulled Little Fatty and headed out.
Tang Fei and Phoenix were then left alone in the hospital room.
