Chapter 349: Chapter 226, New Year’s Eve, A Night of Bloodshed!_3

"But I’m really worried... What if Her Highness the Princess is being exploited? A young girl, experiencing the stirrings of love for the first time, thinking that emotions are everything..."

"I’m a man, you’re a man too, we both know men all too well. Right?"

"Should we go check on Tang Fei?"

"Idiotic." Yan Wenli cursed out loud, "You didn’t search before, and now running off to search will only deeply offend that Tang Fei, right? Offending Tang Fei is one thing, but what will Her Highness the Princess think?"

"They naturally won’t blame you, after all, you’ve already let them off once, giving them plenty of face... Now, a sudden search would reveal that someone has warned us from behind the scenes, isn’t that throwing me, the director, onto the fire?"

"I wouldn’t dare."

"Zhong Jiayuan, do you know that many times, stupidity is also a form of harm?" Yan Wenli spoke out.

"Yes, I’ve put the director in a difficult position." Zhong Jiayuan admitted. "So what should we do now?"

"Have all our people been pulled back?"

"No." Zhong Jiayuan answered, "Without the director’s orders, our people have been besieging Lion Mountain, not letting even a rabbit escape."

"Hmm." Yan Wenli nodded, saying, "Send me Tang Fei’s information, I’d like to take a good look..."

"Yes, Director."

Yan Wenli waved his hands, "Go on, get busy, don’t just stand here in front of me. I need a capable assistant who can help me deal with worries, not a servant who’s only good at serving tea and water."

"Yes." Zhong Jiayuan bowed and then turned to leave.

Yan Wenli watched Zhong Jiayuan’s retreating figure, chewing over the name in his mouth: "Tang Fei..."

Swoosh!

When the first burst of fireworks shot up into the sky, blooming into a glorious array of purples and reds, it seemed as if the city behemoth finally truly awoke.

Phoenix City forbade the release of fireworks within the urban area; the official reason was to avoid air pollution and fire hazards.

But on such a festive holiday, without the embellishment of fireworks, it would ultimately feel like something was missing.

Therefore, some rebellious teenagers or mischievous children ignited small fireworks in the alleys, and some bold ones even fired them off directly into the sky.

They’d rather be chased by patrolling police, scrambling like panicked swine to be locked up and receive the punishment they deserved, just to punch hole after hole into the sky.

By this time, the night had already fallen completely, but the snow came down even heavier.

The entire world was like a crystal shrouded in black gauze, the snow was so white that it made the night seem less dark.

Groups of people in threes and twos flocked towards the streets, some dragging their families along, but more were those young couples walking hand in hand, snuggling together.

They enjoy this bustling atmosphere, walking the streets, appreciating the snow, and after attending the New Year festivities, another revelry awaits them.

Little Fatty crouched at the door listening for a while, then ran back to Tang Fei and said, "Bro, everyone in the neighborhood is heading out."

Tang Fei looked towards Bai Wuxin, who was wrapped in a Black Robe, and said, "Let’s follow them."

After a day’s rest and supplemented by Tang Fei infusing her with Yin Yang Qi, Bai Wuxin’s complexion looked much better. She could stand and walk on her own strength.

But she still couldn’t mobilize the Yin Yang Qi within her body, and in the event of danger, she wouldn’t have any capacity to fight back.

Tang Fei and Little Fatty flanked Bai Wuxin, one on each side, and followed behind the neighbors as they walked toward Phoenix Avenue.

"Happy New Year." A young couple with their six or seven-year-old daughter greeted Tang Fei and Little Fatty actively.

"Happy New Year." Tang Fei responded with a smile.

"Niu Niu, say ’Happy New Year’ to uncle," the young mother urged, pulling her daughter’s little hand.

"Happy New Year, Uncle," the little girl called out sweetly.

"Call me brother," Tang Fei corrected seriously.

The little girl stuck her tongue out at Tang Fei.

"Mommy, mommy, can we go with brother?" Little Cinderella pulled on her mother’s hand, calling out loud.

Perhaps she found Tang Fei to be an interesting fellow.

"Sure, ask your brother if he agrees," the mother said gently.

"Brother, brother, will you play with us?" the little girl asked, looking up with her little face.

"I don’t want to." Tang Fei’s expression turned fierce; his eyes flashing dangerously as he harshly said, "I hate kids the most, noisy and annoying, drives me crazy..."

"Waaah!" The little girl’s lips quivered, and she burst into tears.

"What are you saying?" The child’s father said angrily.

"This is so rude, you’ve scared the child..." The mother complained, then squatted down to pick up the child.

Watching the family of three hurry away, Little Fatty said, "Bro, it would have been nice to walk together... Why scare them off?"

Tang Fei just smiled, and didn’t speak.

Bai Wuxin gave Tang Fei a glance, but she remained silent as well.

At this moment, two men in black came toward them and shouted, "Stop, we need to check your IDs..."

"Of course." Tang Fei replied with a radiant smile, lifting up the watch on his left wrist, "Identify the information yourself..."

The men in black took out a scanner, aiming it at Tang Fei’s electronic chip, and the device instantly displayed Tang Fei’s personal information.

The other man scanned Little Fatty’s chip information and passed through security as well.

Then, they tried to scan Bai Wuxin’s ID, but Bai Wuxin shook his head and said, "I don’t have my ID chip..."

"How can you not have your ID chip when you’re out?" one of the men in black barked, "Don’t you have an electronic chip?"

"No."

"Then come with us."

"Officer, we’re on our way to the New Year’s Eve event," Tang Fei pleaded with a sorrowful look, "Could you just let us off this once? We’ll definitely not do it again..."

"No, we’re on a mission," refused the man in black.

"Really not possible?"

As Tang Fei spoke, his body suddenly lunged forward, wrapping his left hand around the man’s neck and giving it a light twist.

Crack!

The body of the man in black went limp.

The other man in black, realizing something was wrong, tried to shout an alarm.

Little Fatty, copying what he saw, also wrapped his arms around the neck of the second man in black, then punched him right in the Adam’s apple.

Crack!

The man’s throat shattered, and his body fell limp into Little Fatty’s embrace.

"Bro, they’re not cops," Little Fatty voiced out.

"I know," Tang Fei said, "Hold them like they’re drunk... Quick, let’s go to a busier place."
