Chapter 676: Chapter 678: Your Husband Has Been Prepared
Kuai Minglang felt Bai Ruozhu didn’t say anything to the prisoner, and seeing her not recognize him, took her out of the prison.
Once Bai Ruozhu left the government office, she hastily took a carriage back home. She couldn’t deny being worried. In fact, this time, she would genuinely need Jiang Yichun’s help.
Upon arriving home, Lin Ping’er came forward, worriedly asking, "How did it go? Is the situation resolved?"
"The official has ordered to retrieve the original contract for investigation, with another court session in two days." Bai Ruozhu didn’t elaborate further. She patted her mother’s shoulder and said, "Don’t worry, mom, everything will be alright."
Upon hearing this, Lin Ping’er grumbled, "Couldn’t we just part ways amicably? This unnecessary complication will simply waste time. With this amount of time, we could have made quite a bit of money."
Bai Ruozhu smiled and said nothing. She knew perfectly well that she and the Du Family could never amicably part ways. As long as she was in Beiyu City, there would be no Du Family, and vice versa.
Originally, she didn’t want to resort to drastic measures, but Du Songbai’s behavior today again challenged her limits. Moreover, with the Du Family’s insidious tactics, she must get rid of them before she and Jiang Yichun head to the capital city, so as not to leave a hidden threat to her family.
She gave Jiang Yichun a sign, and the two retreated to their room to talk. Seeing this, Lin Ping’er’s eyes lit up, saying, "Let me look after Dengdeng. I haven’t held him much recently. You guys continue with your business, and I’ll play with Dengdeng."
Without waiting for a reply, she took Dengdeng into her arms. Despite his preferment for his father, the little foodie instantly accepted this "unfair" arrangement after his grandmother promised him eggs.
Bai Ruozhu looked at her mother in slight bafflement, wondering why she was suddenly so attached to Dengdeng.
Jiang Yichun pulled her into the room, chuckling, "Mom was worried Dengdeng would distract us."
"What?" Bai Ruozhu exclaimed before realizing what her mother was playing at. Was her mom being excessively progressive? Weren’t the people of the past supposed to be reserved?
"Mom wants a granddaughter. We have to work hard and give her a beautiful baby girl!" Jiang Yichun said before beginning to kiss her neck.
Bai Ruozhu knocked him once, "I have something important to discuss with you. Stop messing around during the day." His kiss had made her body go soft, and even her voice turned coquettishly faint.
"Not a problem, you can continue talking; we won’t let this get in the way," Jiang Yichun’s large hand suddenly squeezed her fullness. She squealed in surprise, "Jiang Yichun!"
Jiang Yichun, noticing her genuine anger, chuckled and withdrew his hand, although he muttered under his breath, "You were making eyes at me earlier, was that not a sign you wanted to—"
At his words, Bai Ruozhu broke out in a cold sweat. When had she flirted with him? She merely wanted to discuss something in private.
"Haven’t you tormented me enough last night? I’m dead tired!" Bai Ruozhu replied huffily, her voice still noticeably lower.
Jiang Yichun took her hand, twisting and turning her jade-like fingers, intertwining their digits together.
"I held back this morning considering you had court duty. Hence, we cannot waste this beautiful time." He held up their hands, kissing the back of Bai Ruozhu’s hand.
Bai Ruozhu clenched her teeth, exclaiming, "Hold back, my ass! After bothering me twice for such a long time, you almost woke Dengdeng up, you’re getting more and more out of hand. I really regret letting you into this room!"
In her heart, she was truly furious. It was like inviting a wolf into her home. He should have stayed in the servant’s room all along. Ever since he moved into hers, he’d been tormenting her day and night. Did he want to drive her to an early grave?
"Didn’t you enjoy it at all? Wasn’t it pleasant?" he whispered in her ear, his voice enticingly seductive. His warm breath tickled her ear and she could feel it turning red. It was embarrassingly adorable.
Bai Ruozhu’s heart was pounding in her chest. She had to admit that their time together was pleasant, particularly when they were intimately entwined. The first half was always enjoyable, but after that, his stamina overpowered hers, and she ended up completely spent, her back and waist aching terribly.
"Stop fooling around. The Du family is trying to screw me over-they somehow conspired with the Commerce Association in Beiyu City. They added a clause to the contract saying that if I wanted to rescind, I’d have to pay a penalty ten times the agreed profit sharing." Bai Ruozhu was almost swayed off topic by him, but she quickly collected herself, tapped him lightly, and relayed the situation urgently.
"Oh? Did someone from the Commerce Association come today?" asked Jiang Yichun.
"Yes, a man around 40 who appeared to be working on behalf of Du Songbai," Bai Ruozhu replied as she tugged at his sleeve. "Kuai Minglang sent someone to the Commerce Association store in Anyuan town to retrieve the original copy of the contract. But from the reaction of Du Songbai, I feel like he might have tipped someone off in advance. What are we going to do? Shouldn’t you send someone to intercept them outside the city?"
Jiang Yichun laughed, "Du Songbai is an old fox. Do you think I came unprepared?"
He shot Bai Ruozhu an arrogant look, causing her to take another look at him. "You look more cunning than a fox. Even Senior Fox doesn’t project the cunning look with his crescent eyes. Now, what exactly have you done?" she asked.
"Darling, call me ’husband’. If it pleases me, I might just tell you," he said, with a smirk that widened at her curiosity.
Unable to resist her curiosity, Bai Ruozhu plumped herself down onto his lap, encircled his neck with her arms and said sweetly, "Husband, do tell me!"
A dark look flitted across his eyes as his Adam’s apple bobbed with a gulp. His wife’s bewitching charm was sometimes more than he could handle. Despite her protests, he gave her derrière a light pat and said, "Shift a bit. It’s getting uncomfortable."
Bai Ruozhu, feeling something poke her, leaped up immediately. She cursed herself for taking the game too far. She was playing with fire! But before she jumped aside, Jiang Yichun pulled her back and plonked her onto his lap once again.
"Silly girl, don’t worry. Have you forgotten that I also have contacts in the Commerce Association?" His voice was choked up, clearly holding back a rising desire, while his hand started to knead and pinch her buttocks.
"I...I know! But the actual contract is in Anyuan Town!" Bai Ruozhu managed to say with some difficulty - he was really stirring passions within her.
Slipping his hand underneath her shirt, he said, "When I heard they were deducting your bonus, I asked my contacts in Anyuan to retrieve the contract. Even if Du Songbai sends someone, they’ll be too late."
Bai Ruozhu’s eyes lit up instantly as she looked at him with awe, saying, "You’ve really thought of everything." Following her praise, she giggled softly and whispered in his ear, "Husband, you’re amazing!"
Jiang Yichun shivered, his blood seeming to boil at her exhilarating words. Not able to resist, he seized her face and delivered a passionate kiss, surrendering himself to his desire.
