Chapter 564: Chapter 566: She is More Important than His Life

Bai Ruozhu sensed Li Yi’s anger and guessed that he had encountered obstacles in Beiyu City, which suggested she might have a chance to be saved. At this thought, Bai Ruozhu became excited. Though she couldn’t move, she had some poison hidden under her nails. She had prepared it the moment she saw Li Yi. The poison would act within half an hour after they had left the secret passage.

What Bai Ruozhu didn’t expect was that the route leaving the secret passage was completely different, cutting the journey by half compared to the one they used to enter. On their exit, they were not at the brightly lit brothel, but outside Beiyu City!

Surprise surged in Bai Ruozhu’s heart. If they were still inside the city, Li Yi would’ve had a hard time taking her out. But now, they were already standing outside the city, causing her original plans to be completely disrupted.

Li Yi didn’t go far before several of his subordinates met them, leading them horses. He tossed Bai Ruozhu onto the back of his horse, mounted it, and spurred it on.

Bai Ruozhu couldn’t speak, her heart was filled with curses at Li Yi. She had been thrown onto the horse stomach-down. The bumpy ride nearly made her vomit.

Her head couldn’t move. She could only catch a glimpse of Xiaosi in a similar predicament on another horse with the corner of her eye, though Xiaosi was still unconscious.

She wanted to look back at Beiyu City, but she couldn’t move her head or neck. Her children, parents, lover, and friends were all in Beiyu City, and now she was being taken away to the Turkic Country. She didn’t know when she could escape and when she could return to her city.

At this thought, a wave of sadness welled up in Bai Ruozhu’s heart. This was the first time she felt so helpless since her rebirth. She had encountered difficulties before, even more dangerous situations than now. But for some reason, she felt very sorrowful.

Tears fell onto the muddy ground as the snow melted, disappearing instantly.

Suddenly, footsteps sounded from ahead along with a shout, "Prince, we’ve been found!"

Li Yi pulled the horse to a stop, cursing, "Damn it, break out from the left!"

Bai Ruozhu became excited. Reinforcements had arrived and her poison would take effect soon. Even though her acupoints were blocked and she couldn’t move, she could still find an opportunity to escape.

But when she glanced at Xiaosi on the other horse, she realized he was too far from her and she couldn’t move, making it difficult to save him.

Li Yi spurred his horse, moving even faster, which jostled Bai Ruozhu until she was nearly in tears. Suddenly, Li Yi pulled on the reins and the horse stopped abruptly. Due to the inertia, Bai Ruozhu had nearly flown off the horse’s head, but Li Yi had grabbed her and pulled her back onto the horse.

"They arrived very quickly, my brave men from Turkic, let’s break through their line!" Li Yi shouted loudly.

The men with him also began to yell. Their shouts were not harmonized like a regular army but wild and unrestrained. Bai Ruozhu couldn’t help but think of the subordinate who had called them descendants of wolves from the grasslands.

Soon, the rescue team arrived. Bai Ruozhu couldn’t move or speak. She wanted to know if Jiang Yichun was with them. She wanted to call out to him to leave, not to use his Qi, and to plead with the rescue team to take Xiaosi away first.

But she couldn’t see anything. From her angle, all she could see were the horses’ bellies and legs and the human legs beside the horse’s belly.

The two sides clashed with each other. Suddenly, she heard a familiar voice shouting, "Don’t shoot arrows!"

It was Jiang Yichun, he really came!

Indescribable emotions welled up in Bai Ruozhu’s heart. If she could speak, she would condemn him for being reckless. But surprisingly, warmth filled her heart, along with a hint of sweetness.

He came, he truly valued her safety more than his own life!

Li Yi was highly skilled in martial arts, and was fierce and cunning. He soon injured several of the guards who rushed over and managed to break through the encirclement and run away.

Suddenly, he grabbed Bai Ruozhu and threw her onto his back as if discarding a rag, causing her to sit upright on the horse. He then pulled her hands to his front and quickly bound them together.

From behind, it looked as though Bai Ruozhu was hugging his waist, but in reality, he was using Bai Ruozhu as a shield to protect himself against potential arrows.

Bai Ruozhu widened her eyes, wishing to bite off a piece of this man to let him taste the most torturous poison in the world. This man was utterly despicable!

Now sitting upright, she had a broader view. She found that she could move her neck a bit. She used all her strength to turn her head and saw the man holding Xiaosi had been knocked off his horse. Xiaosi, who was on the horse’s back, was flung away.

She opened her mouth to scream but no sound came out. Poor Xiaosi, his internal injuries were not healed, he couldn’t afford to be thrown around like this.

A figure in white dashed over, quickly catching Xiaosi in mid-air.

Bai Ruozhu let out a sigh of relief, gesturing to Xu Huilin, who was holding Xiaosi, mouthing, "Take care of him."

Xu Huilin looked at Bai Ruozhu, who was being taken away by Li Yi and worry flashed in his eyes. Then, he jumped up and yelled at the horseman chasing ahead, "Junior Brother, have you gone mad?"

He quickly handed Xiaosi to a nearby guard, instructing him, "You must take good care of this child!" After that, he jumped onto his horse and chased after them.

Bai Ruozhu struggled to turn her neck to the other side, only to see that several of Li Yi’s subordinates had also escaped, including the one who had injured Xiaosi.

Behind them was a dark figure, Bai Ruozhu didn’t need to look carefully to know that it was Jiang Yichun.

Tears welled up in her eyes, uncontrollably streaming down her face. Why was he so reckless? Why was he chasing after them? If he used his Qi, his veins would burst and he’d die. Why didn’t he wait for others to save her? Why would he risk his life for her?

Her tears fell like a flood. She didn’t want him to risk his life for her, nor did she want anyone to risk their lives for her, whether it was Jiang Yichun, Xiaosi, her parents, or her brothers. She would rather die than see them hurt.

Only when she saw the pursuing Xu Huilin did she breathe a sigh of relief. At least Senior Fox came, he would not let Jiang Yichun act recklessly.

Xu Huilin caught up with Jiang Yichun and shouted at him through gritted teeth, "Go back, have you forgotten what Master told you? You’re practically useless without your martial arts. How are you going to save her? If something happens to you, do you think she could live on with that?

Jiang Yichun ignored him and fiercely whipped his horse, clearly indicating that he would not turn back.

"You don’t understand her, even if I’m gone, she would still live on. She has her child and her family. She can’t afford to get into trouble, but I’m a loner, it doesn’t matter to me." Jiang Yichun gave a plaintive smile.

A furious Xu Huilin whipped his horse to catch up, shouting, "What about Master and me? Don’t you think we would be heartbroken?"
